I'm selling my 1992 Ford F150 XLT regular cab shortbed. It has the 5.0L 302 V8, automatic transmission, and floor shift 4x4. The engine was replaced with a new one from Ford 30,000 miles ago and the transfer case was replaced 4,000 miles ago. It has a 6in Skyjacker suspension lift, a 3in body lift with 37in tall goodyear tires, and dual exhaust. Newer Optima red top battery. The body does have a little bit of rust above the wheel wells on the bed, everything else is rust free. I bought this truck out of Florida so the undercarriage is in great condition with no rust. The truck is 21 years old so there are a few dents and dings, especially on the passenger side bedside. The speedometer/odometer display recently quit working. Could be something as simple as a fuse or it could need a sensor replaced, I don't know. I haven't had a chance to get it into the shop to get looked at yet. The carpet was removed from the cab before I bought it and I ever got around to getting it replaced. The toolbox will go with the truck.

Ford ditching Microsoft in favor of BlackBerry QNX for next-gen Sync?
Mon, 24 Feb 2014Ask the average consumer - at least, those who follow the goings-on in the automotive industry - which carmaker they'd most closely associate Microsoft, and the answer you'd most likely get would be Ford. The Blue Oval automaker, after all, was at the forefront of bringing Microsoft technology into cars with its pioneering Sync system, and, though reality didn't turn out as such, Ford's CEO was recently touted as a potential future head of the Redmond-based software giant. But that relationship, according to the latest reports, could be coming to an end.
Alan Mullaly kiboshed the idea of leaving Dearborn for Redmond, but more importantly Ford is tipped to be ditching Microsoft in developing its next-generation Sync system. In its place, Ford is expected to partner with BlackBerry's QNX division.
Now, before you go balking "BlackBerry?! But they're finished!" consider that QNX is (or at least was) an independent entity that Research In Motion (as BlackBerry's Ontario-based parent company was then known) just happened to have bought back in 2010. QNX provides control systems to everything from nuclear power plants and UAVs to automakers like Audi, BMW and Porsche.
Curtain officially comes down on Mercury as dealers remove signage
Mon, 03 Jan 2011The process of shutting down the Mercury is complete. Ford officially made the decision to close its mid-level brand in June of 2010. In the months that followed, Ford offered its dealers money to stop selling the cars, with production shutting down in September. The last Mercury, a Mariner, rolled off the assembly line in the beginning of October and former spokesperson Jill Wagner said her good-byes to both the car and her job. Now the last piece of the brand has come down as dealers are removing any and all Mercury signage from their lots.

There was a time not so long ago when opting for a base Ford Mustang meant getting little more than some sheetmetal, an anemic four-cylinder engine and what may very well have been the world's most disappointing automatic transmission. During the Fox Body years, Ford seemed hell-bent on living up to Carroll Shelby's derogatory description of the coupe as little more than a runabout for demure office assistants, and the result was a base model with fewer sporting intentions than a Dilbert day calendar.
Some 20 years later, hopping behind the wheel of an entry-level pony is an entirely different experience. With all of the menacing aesthetics of the brawnier GT, a well-equipped interior and a drivetrain that toes the line between efficiency and power better than few before it, the 2013 Ford Mustang V6 is an attractive option for buyers in the big coupe market. But is it attractive enough to forgo the beastly GT?
