1981 Ford F100 YELLOW Stepside Pickup Truck

A friend of mine started to build a hotrod .

He had the motor, transmission, & rearend professionally built, then put it all in a Datsun Pickup.

Then he passed away. So I don't know all the specs on the engine, but I do have the cam specs and it has a stall

convertor but I am not sure of the RPM's of the stall, so I bought this 1981 Ford to put the running gear in. I wanted to build this to see my friend's engine & components put to good use.

I started with a rust free Georgia truck, did a total frame off restoration.

went through all brakes, suspension & steering. It has power steering, power brakes, AC, tilt wheel, new upholstery, headliner, carpet, door panels, windshield & back glass. New Summit wheels & Mickey Thompson 29 x 15.00-15 tires on rear. 460 motor, C6 automatic transmission, 9" Ford 4-11 posi-trac rearend. All the chrome is new or freshly polished. 2006 F150 console with shifter, AM/FM CD, Cedar bed floor & side boards that looks like a piece of furniture. Truck was stripped to bare metal then applied new base coat clear coat paint. Paint color: 06 Ford Screamin' Yellow.

Ford gets colorful with Mustang anniversary infographic

Thu, 24 Oct 2013

Preparing to celebrate its 50th birthday, the Ford Mustang has seen a lot of vehicle trends come and go, and this especially goes for paint colors. Using historical production data, Ford has managed to create an infographic dating back to 1967 that breaks down the three top Mustang colors for each year as well as calling out some of the more interesting trends and colors over the years.
Over its five generations, the Mustang has been offered in a seemingly endless rainbow - from Playboy Pink in '67 and color-changing Mystichrome on the 2004 Cobra - but the most popular has always been red, which is the color of choice for 21 percent of all Mustangs ever made. Almost every year since 1967, red has been among the top three colors for the Mustang, but other popular colors have included blue, white, brown and, most recently, black. There are even websites and registries available for people owning certain-color Mustangs.
As the all-new 2015 Mustang gets ready for its debut later this year, there's no telling what kind of exciting and/or wacky colors Ford has in store. Click on the image above to see the full infographic (choose the "large" option for optimal viewing), or check it out in a smaller size along with the press release posted below.

2015 Ford Mustang to make world debut on Dec. 5 [w/video]

Tue, 19 Nov 2013

Between a bevvy of spy shots, speculative renders and insidery images from the halls of Car and Driver, we've got a pretty decent idea of what the 2015 Ford Mustang might look like. Still, we're excited to see the real deal as soon as possible.
Turns out that Ford has told us just when that first official look might come, too, although it has chosen somewhat of a backdoor fashion for dropping the news.
The video below popped up on the Ford Mustang YouTube channel this morning, promoting a social media effort called #MustangInspires on. The video and hashtag ask fans of the pony car to share pictures of the car - or "photographic stories of inspiration" - on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc. But the truly interesting part of the video description is that which mentions taking "the cover off the all-new Mustang" on December 5. Consider our calendars marked.

2015 Ford F-150 [w/videos]

Thu, 02 Oct 2014

To learn more about the all-new 2015 F-150 and get an early read on its potential hero-or-zero status, we flew to the heart of full-size pickup truck country, San Antonio, TX, to spend a day driving, towing and playing in the mud with an assortment of Ford's innovative new trucks.
First, a caveat - while we feel we have a reasonably good handle on the new F-150 after attending this first-drive event, we are far from ready to pass definitive judgment on the success of this radically new rig. Our time in the various models was lamentably limited and we felt rushed. With so much at stake and with so much to talk about and experience, we had zero alone time with the vehicle - there were Ford folks shadowing us at every moment.
And we still don't know everything there is to know about the trucks, as Ford is withholding some of its most crucial numbers, including curb weight data and anticipated EPA fuel economy figures. We don't even have a firm on-sale date. All of this information is typically disclosed - or at least officially estimated - at the time of a new vehicle's first drive. This limits the scope of the judgments we feel comfortable making based on our first encounter.
