This is a very nice 1968 Custom Cab Ford pick-up truck.  It has been restored from the ground up.   It is maroon with saddle interior.   Please look at the photos carefully and ask all questions before bidding.   I am very proud of this truck and love to talk about it!!   I can be reached at 423-807-1351.

It has a newly rebuilt 302 engine with 351 Windsor heads,  Speed pro cam CS1064R,  ceramic coated headers, and 2 1/2 inch exhaust.   I had the C-6 auto transmission rebuilt by the best mechanic in the area.  I had all new power brakes put on,  power steering  and new suspension.  It has new Wrangler tires on factory Ford wheels.

There is all new weather striping,  factory chrome bed rails,  spray Rhino bedliner,   new sliding back glass  and new bumpers.  The exterior is straight and everything lines up.

The interior is really something else!    I put in leather bucket seats with a console,  they are super comfortable.   It has factory ford air condition,  (the expansion valve started sticking this summer).  The steering wheel tilts,  new carpet,  Shark gauges  and radio in dash works but is not hooked up.   check out the Hi-Liner headliner!!   It has a Clarian  AM  FM stereo with CD player and four speakers!!  No smoking since I have owned this truck.

It has been driven so it is not perfect but is sure is an eye catcher.  You will not be disappointed with this truck.

I require a non refundable $500.00 deposit  within three days of auction end with balance paid with cash when picked up or cashiers check if shipped. Buyer is responsible for shipping cost.  Truck will be shipped from Knoxville, Tn.

Former Cadillac boss Butler takes Ford tech job

Tue, 07 Jan 2014

When Don Butler made the surprising decision to leave his post as Cadillac's VP of global strategic development, it was a surprise. Citing a desire to "recalibrate, reassess my priorities" in that August announcement, it wasn't entirely clear where Butler - a virtual General Motors lifer after spending nearly 30 years with the company - would end up. Turns out he took a trip to Dearborn.
Butler has taken a position in the newly created position of Executive Director of Connected Vehicles and Services at Ford, where he'll be responsible for the Blue Oval's global connectivity strategy. "Not only does Don understand the connected car landscape, but probably just as important, he understands customer expectations," said Raj Nair, who, as Group Vice President of Global Product Development, is Butler's new boss. "Having a leader with technology experience both inside and outside the industry is a rare combination - we're excited to have Don join our team."
As Ford has received its fair share of flak for the sometimes recalcitrant MyFord Touch infotainment system and its Sync voice-controls, it appears that Butler has his work cut out for him.

eBay Find of the Day: Mk1 Ford GT40 with interesting history

Sat, 03 May 2014

You might expect a rare Ford GT40 to cross the block at some sort of prestigious auto auction from RM or Gooding, not show up on eBay for over $2 million. However, that's exactly what we have here. The seller claims the car is a late-build Mk1 GT40 from 1969, and it's currently owned by the director of the Hublot watch company in Switzerland.
According to the listing, GT40 #P1108 started life as Mk1 car that was built from factory spares in 1969 and was first sold in 1971. However, the auction is somewhat confusing. According to an image in its gallery, the vehicle was actually built from one of the seven spare Mk3 tubs when production of the iconic racers ended.
This GT40 was never built as a racecar - it lived on the streets its whole life. After assembly finished, it was sent to Germany and was eventually registered for the road. The first owner kept the car until 2005 and sold it with 7,300 miles on the odometer. The current owner bought it in 2012.

Auto critic calls out Corvette, Mustang and Cherokee faithful

Mon, 26 Aug 2013

Most automotive purists fear change, but not without reason. Change, after all, did kill big-block V8s, along with most station wagons and manual transmissions. But change has also brought with it far more performance, safety and fuel economy - not to mention ridding the world of shag carpet interiors, bias-ply tires and those horrible motorized seatbelts of the early '90s.
By this time next year, the Chevy Corvette, Jeep Cherokee and next-generation Ford Mustang will all be on sale and will all, in some way, have angered or offended purists. To those critics, Mark Phelan of the Detroit Free Press is preemptively telling them to stop complaining - at least until they've all been driven. From the Corvette's square taillights and the Cherokee's radical nose to whatever pony car purists will harp on the 2015 Mustang for, Phelan's column points out the positives of automotive evolution and the negatives of staying the course for too long. That's fair enough, but do you think Phelan is on point, or all wet? Head on over to the Detroit Free Press to read his words, then have your say in Comments.
