1967 Ford F100 Ranger Camper Special - Limited Edition - Classic on 2040-cars
Summerville, South Carolina, United States
My dad purchased this truck in 1967 and then passed it on to me. The truck has been only in our family and has just over 108,000 original miles on it. Since 1995, it has had the inside dash, seats and carpet professionally redone. The carpet is now showing some fading. Firestone in Bluffton, SC completely redid the break system within the last year. The C-6 transmission was rebuilt approximately 6 months ago but the roped seal is still slightly leaking. The engine has had little work done on it and the main thing it could use is exhaust manifold gaskets. Also, at this time the oil seal gasket needs changing and has a minor leak due to this. All 4 tires, plus the spare, were purchased from Sears and have less than 5,000 miles on them. The exhaust were re-installed but could be quieter with the manifold gaskets installed. This is a very unique truck and was a limited edition in it's time. With accomodation of a 30 gallon original tank, a 15 gallon reserve tank behind the seat, wide mirrors and an 8 foot bedding make this the Camper Special of it's time. I have since taken off the 30 gallon tank due to gas prices and am using the 15 gallon tank, behind the seat. The paint is in fair condition and the bed has scratches due to yard work and hauling mulch. It was repainted in 1995 and scratches have been made since then. If you have additional questions, please e-mail me at joe.arwood@gmail.com. Serious inquiries only, please. Do not contact me by text, I will accept e-mail and phone calls between 5 - 9:00 pm on weekdays and anytime on weekends. The truck can be seen in Summerville, SC. Please contact Joe at 843-227-8507 for additional information. Again, only serious inquiries, please. Buyer is responsible for transporting vehicle after purchase and arrangements must be made to have it moved within 5 days after end of auction. Payment must be made in full and verified within 48 hours of end of auction. |

Roush getting back into sport compact business with Focus ST mods [w/video]
Wed, 29 May 2013Roush Performance offers a whole raft of parts for folks looking to tune their Ford Mustang and F-150 models, and now Focus owners can start getting in on the hotted-up action, too. Owners of the 2012-13 Focus and 2013 Focus ST can now get a Roush cold-air intake system, and ST owners can also opt for a high-performance cat-back exhaust.
Although all of these components are now available for order, the parts will ship sometime in July; no word yet on pricing. Down the road, Roush will also offer styling upgrades for the Focus as well as performance tuning upgrades such as engine controller, suspension, wheels and tires. Scroll down for a quick video of what the Focus ST exhaust sounds like, as well as a Roush press release.
Shelby American cleans house of 14 concept cars
Wed, 25 Jun 2014Typically when an automaker rolls out a concept car or pre-production prototype, it does its tour and then disappears into the company's archives. Maybe it will be displayed for the public to see in the company's own museum or maybe it will spend most of its time under covers in a warehouse somewhere, but every once in a while, an automaker will open up its history and start selling off its concept cars. For Shelby American, "once in a while" has just rolled around.
The House that Carroll Built is moving from its previous headquarters at Las Vegas Motor Speedway to a new facility off of the Las Vegas strip, and in the process is liquidating fourteen of the rarest cars in its collection. That presents a tremendous opportunity for muscle car collectors to bring one or more of these snakes home.
As you might expect, the catalog is composed mostly of Mustangs, but not exclusively. There's a pair of 289 Cobras: the last of the 50th anniversary slab-sided continuation cars and an original development vehicle, offered at $200,000 apiece. At the other end of the spectrum you'll find the 2013 Shelby Raptor concept for $125k and Focus concept for $50k. And of course there are the Mustangs.
Total auto recalls already on record pace in 2014
Tue, 08 Apr 2014If you've noticed that there have been more recalls than usual this year, you may be on to something. According to a report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the US market is on pace to break a record for recalls. In 2013, 22 million cars were recalled. We're only a third of the way through 2014, though, and we've already halved that figure, with 11 million units recalled. That's wild.
Considering the past few months, it shouldn't be a surprise that General Motors is leading the charge, with six million of the 11 million units recalled coming from one of the General's four brands. Between truck recalls, CUV recalls and the ignition switch recall, 2014 hasn't been a great year for GM.
Other recall leaders include Nissan (one million Sentra and Altima sedans), Honda (900,000 Odyssey minivans), Toyota (over one million units in a few recalls), Volkswagen (150,000 Passat sedans), Chrysler (644,000 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs) and most recently, Ford (434,000 units, the bulk of which were early Ford Escape CUVs). So while it's been a bad year for GM so far, its competitors aren't doing too well, either.
