1986 Jaguar Xj6 Vanden Plas - Brc Green- Great For Restore Or Parts! on 2040-cars
Elizabethtown, Kentucky, United States
PREFACE: This car is truly for someone who is a JAGUAR Enthusiast and wants to either RESTORE a CLASSIC or just Part Out. The car is truly a classic that will require a lot of work for restoration - With the right dedication, this car can be gorgeous. car actually turned over and ran last in 2012. I drove it from SC to KY in 2008 and started it regularly until deployed to AFG - 2009. I purchased this car to one day completely Restore it - Well, based on current deployment and other obligations, I no longer have the time. CAR FACTS: Body: Body is straight, never an accident. Rust spots in several places, though all fixable. Chrome is really excellent - probably the best thing about it. Door locks need serious greasing. Floorboard is in very good condition. Seats: Front and rear seats are in good condition, though, the leather stain shows tremendous wear. Rear seat has a small cigarette hole on left side. Trunk: Very Clean. Engine: It turned over 2012 and was OK. The car ran good, with transmission responding as normal. The engine will not turn over now most likely due to a frozen starter. However, I really do not know. Please note - This purchase falls under the "AS IS" policy. Dash Electronics: I took out the dash and simply put it back in loosely, many connections still need to be made again. I did this to replace the dash and fix the vacuum to the heating and air-condition. Air Condition is not connected. The reason so much was taken out of the car was because I intended to completely restore the vehicle. I have many new parts for the car, cannot mention all. Also have custom mixed leather dye for the seats as well. Tires are Good - 1 front right tire has small leak - repairable. Chrome Rims are Great, with two missing the Jaguar emblem and end cap. Purchased those separately. ALL EXTRA PARTS PURCHASED WITH CAR ARE YOURS Good Bidding to All! |

2015 Ford Focus Electric hides in plain sight
Wed, 16 Apr 2014The styling changes to the 2015 Ford Focus were shown off at the recent Geneva Motor Show, so what the EV version looks like is not that much of a surprise. Still, the 2015 Focus Electric is making its world debut here at the New York Auto Show, so we wanted to know what changes we are looking at compared to both the internal combustion engine version and the earlier EV models.
The exterior visual distinctions between the ICE and EV are minimal, and basically nonexistent from the A-pillar to the rear. Up front, you can see the charge port, of course, but the front fascia has also undergone a bit of an adjustment. The front doesn't have the ICE version's flattened grille and the EV's Ford logo creates a bump in the hood line where none exists on the ICE. The 2015's grille is also different than the one on the 2014 Focus Electric, being slightly smaller (you can see this better if you compare pictures in our new gallery above to these of the 2011 Focus Electric and these of the gas-powered 2015 Focus).
The updated 2015 interior - which we couldn't access ourselves - has things like a new center stack, improved cupholders and is basically identical between the gas and electric models. With the car off, you can't even tell if you're in an EV or ICE, Seema Bardwaj, the US brand manager for the Focus, told AutoblogGreen. The only things that are different, she said, are extra menu screens to show EV powertrain information to the driver.
Mysterious small Ford spied in Germany
Sat, 29 Jun 2013Our spy photographers have just popped off a few shots of something curious. This little runabout was spotted in Germany out testing with a current-generation Ford Fiesta. We're fairly confident the machine is a Ford, but exactly which Ford model is up for debate. The hatchback could be the next-generation Ka, but we've also heard that the Blue Oval supermini might not get a replacement. Our shooter says the five-door is a bit smaller than the current Fiesta, though there is a chance that this rig is just an engineering mule for drivetrain development. Then again, it could be a model built specifically for the South African market or China, or not a Ford at all.
Whatever it is and wherever it's headed, you can check out in the gallery for a closer look before heading into Comments to weigh in with your best guess.
Ford Figo concept unveiled in India
Mon, 03 Feb 2014Ford has officially unveiled the Figo Concept at the 2014 Auto Expo in New Delhi. While it may wear a concept badge, we'd argue this little sedan, which is under 12 feet long, looks ready to replace the current Figo and do battle with other B-segment cars in the world's emerging markets.
"With the Figo Concept, we are showing that choosing a compact sedan does not mean compromising on premium design or smart solutions," said Kumar Galhotra, Ford's VP of engineering, global product development. That premium design includes Ford's familial, trapezoidal grille and Fusion-esque headlights in front, while the rear end reminds us of the last-generation Focus Coupe. While that car wasn't exactly attractive, the chopped off tail looks pretty nice on this smaller car. And if you really don't like the looks of the Figo Concept, just remember - it looks better than the current production model. Aerodynamically, the Figo's shape is quite slippery, which means reduced wind noise and improved fuel economy.
As for the "smart solutions" touted by Galhotra, the narrow confines of Indian streets make driving even the tiniest cars a challenge. To give the Figo Concept a one-up on the competition, Ford has fitted power-folding mirrors that sport a "flexible architecture," which should stand up well to bumps from cars, people or bikes. We don't have any interior images, but Ford is promising a large cabin, that includes a dock that can accommodate a phone or MP3 player, allowing either to be controlled through the car.
