2004 Ford Escape Xlt Sport Utility 4-door 3.0l Runs Like New, Great Condition on 2040-cars
Chicago, Illinois, United States
-Extremely WELL-MAINTAINED & RELIABLE Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV). -RUNS LIKE NEW -Great for families who need more space (3 children’s car seats fit in the rear row; luggage rack on the roof for road trips), college students (massive trunk space for tailgating!), and anyone else who needs an attractive, safe and reliable car!!! -Clean Vehicle History Report. -Clear title, and regular maintenance. -Owned by one family since bought new from the Ford dealer. My sister-in-law bought this new, and I bought in from her in 2012 -Power locks, power windows, power seats, front & rear defroster, front & rear wipers, AM/FM stereo, cruise control. -Powerful heat and ice-cold air conditioner work perfectly! -Silver exterior. Gray leather interior. -New battery and alternator installed in late 2012. -All new spark plugs and new front wheels in February 2013. -Has had regular oil changes and maintenance every 3 months since we bought it. Never a problem passing Illinois emissions testing. -Everything works perfectly except the CD player is broken (could be repaired). -Cosmetic dents on the front drivers side from a hit and run when it was parked on the street (see picture) and crack in lower part of windshield (see picture). Minor/normal scratches from being a city car for the past 1.5 years. Other than that, it looks great and is very clean. These dents have no effect on drivability -Fresh oil change and new front windshield wipers within the last month. -Must be picked up in Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago. It's possible, but less desirable, for me to drive it to Ann Arbor, MI and Indianapolis, IN in the month of May as well (please inquire) -Payment must be made by certified check or money order or cash in person ($500 deposit is required via Paypal within 48 hrs). -This is a great, reliable car, and I will miss it! Thanks for your interest! |

National Geographic Channel balances Ford F-150 on four coffee mugs
Wed, 29 Jan 2014Proving that there is still something to be learned on television these days, National Geographic Channel recently introduced a new series called Duck Quacks Don't Echo. On the first episode of this science/comedy show, host Michael Ian Black proposes the idea that a truck can be supported with a ceramic coffee mug under each wheel - yes, he says that the entire weight of a truck can be balanced on just four coffee mugs.
Looking to find out whether this is fact or myth, the show uses a regular cab Ford F-150, weighing in at 4,800 pounds, and four average coffee mugs. Lowered onto the mugs, the idea is quickly put to the test. Can the cups hold up under 4,800 pounds? If so, what, exactly, would it take to break them? Scroll down below to find out.
Ford tells Congress it collects and protects some driver data
Fri, 14 Feb 2014Last month Ford's Jim Farley made waves at the CES when it was reported he told show attendees, "We have GPS in your car, so we know what you're doing. By the way, we don't supply that data to anyone." Farley and Ford later partially retracted and clarified that statement.
Spurred by a desire for further transparency on data collection policies, Ford representatives answered questions from Congress, specifically Senator Al Franken (D-Minn.), about driver privacy.
The Detroit News reports that Ford told Congress it does collect some vehicle location data in an effort to "troubleshoot and improve our products" on behalf of the driver. Ford went on to say that it only collects limited data after receiving permission from owners.
2015 Ford Mustang GT road test ride-along
Wed, 24 Sep 2014You've no doubt already pored over our first drive of the 2015 Ford Mustang, where author Jonathon Ramsey proclaimed that "this new car shames the old, redefines the model and gallops far ahead of anything else in the segment." And following Ramsey's first stint behind the wheel of Ford's new coupe, we sent him back out with another 'Stang to capture some of these same impressions over a backdrop of the car moving quickly along gorgeous California canyon roads.
But this also gave our author and editors time to read through the hundreds of comments left on that original Mustang review. You readers are indeed a vocal bunch, and one particular comment about how the automotive media is so willing to bash an outgoing car as soon as the new one arrives really caught our attention. In this video, Ramsey stands by his written text, saying the new Mustang is "massively better than the one it replaces," and in doing so, addresses your comments while providing more insight into just how good the Ford truly is.
We won't spoil the rest for you. Check out the feature video above, and as always, leave us your thoughts in the Comments section below.
