Hi Folks,
I've decided that with all of the vehicles that I have I should sell my Van Gogh Van.
I am an art dealer so when I found this van sitting in a warehouse in St Joseph MO I knew that I just had to have it.
It was painted by 5 artists over a 3 day period as part of an art car competition at the Trails West Art Festival in St. Joseph in August 2008 then used as advertising for Brown's Moving & Storage.
If you do a google search for it you'll find 80 or so pics of it being painted.
He's got some real rusty areas that have been filled with foam in & out.
I've replaced the brake lines, hard & rubber, battery, solenoid, rear door seals, flushed the fluids & it just passed it's Missouri Inspection this spring.
There are 2 large areas on the sides for your company logos & this is a whole lot cheaper than a stationary billboard.
Basically this is a good running $1,500 van with a priceless paint job featuring several reproduction works from one of the most famous Art Masters of all time, Vincent Van Gogh.
This is NOT a vehicle wrap, it's the real deal & there is not another one just like it anywhere.
It is a 1992 Ford Econoline E-150 Cargo with the 4.9 liter 6cyl & automatic transmission with about 179k miles & gets around 15 mpg.
I drove it to the filming of the Antiques Roadshow this weekend & it got a lot of attention but I noticed it either needs tires or a re-balance, it's got a slight shimmy at 63-65 mph.
Located in Lone Jack MO, about 30 miles SE of downtown Kansas City MO.
Winner will make a $500 deposit via Paypal within 24 hours with the balance & pick-up within 5 days of auction ending, "buy-it-now" requires immediate payment. No checks of any kind.
Clean & clear title in hand.
I really want this to sell to an artist or art collector/dealer who will appreciate it as a piece of artwork, but...........
Have questions? Ask before buying please.

Watch this lead sled go rallying in Finland
Thu, 19 Jun 2014Custom cars generally fit into neat little boxes in terms of how they are used. For example, you're unlikely to see a modded Corvette going rock crawling; it's just not what it's made for (though we bet it'd look awesome, for a minute). In the same way, chopped, channeled and customized '50s hot rods aren't really meant to go racing. They look great and go fast, but they are generally more cruisers than sports cars.
However, if this video is any indication, the people of Finland don't adhere in these stereotypes, because this rodder is happy to play in the dirt with his lead sled.
According to the video, the driver is a member of the Ford-Freak Club of Finland, and he clearly knows how to have some fun. Possibly inspired by his country's great rally drivers, he gets the tail way out going around this gently curving gravel track. The stunt is somewhat reminiscent of the stock cars races on the sand at Daytona Beach, and this is probably close to what it sounded like too. Scroll down to watch a very cool Finn getting his hot rod a little dirty.
Justin Bell makes a horrible policeman
Mon, 11 Nov 2013If you're wondering what type of person makes a good police officer, it seems a racecar driver doesn't. Let us rephrase that: Justin Bell, a racecar driver and the host of Motor Trend's World's Fastest Car Show, recently got behind the wheel of a 5.0-liter Ford Mustang police car with Sergeant Daniel Shrubb, co-founder of DRAGG (Drag Racing Against Gangs and Graffiti), and proved that his high-performance-driving skillset is a bit too aggressive for police duty.
While it's easy to get carried away in a Mustang GT, a patrol car driver must maintain some sort of restraint while pursuing a criminal, so as not to come off as a reckless driver to the public. We'll admit, some pursuit techniques are counter-intuitive to performance driving (stay off the gas in a lane-change exercise?), but Bell's judicious use of the handbrake can't be normal procedure.
Watch "The One With The Ford Mustang 5.0 Police Car" (yes, we caught the Friends reference too) below to see some shenanigans in one of Michigan's finest patrol cars.
Ford dealer loses Super Bowl bet, pays $300K to lucky customers [w/video]
Tue, 11 Feb 2014A Missouri Ford dealership's Super Bowl weekend sale cost it big when the improbable happened. Hutcheson Ford ran a promotion from January 29 to February 1, called the Super Weekend Sale. The gist was, if any customer purchased a vehicle between those dates and either the opening or second-half kickoff of the big game was returned for a touchdown, the dealership would refund the purchase price.
In the dealership's defense, it seemed like a safe bet. According to the mathematicians, there was just a 2.5-percent chance of either half opening with a touchdown return. But that didn't stop Seattle's Percy Harvin from doing his part to ruin Denver's evening, returning the second-half kick for an 87-yard touchdown run. Twelve Hutcheson customers were eligible for refunds thanks to the return, with prices ranging from $10,000 to $55,000, according to Automotive News. The total amount shelled out by the dealership? $300,000.
"At least we're not like that furniture guy that lost $7 million," dealership marketing manager Kathleen Frazier told AN. We think it was a big success." The dealership did take out insurance to cover its losses, meaning the $300K won't come entirely from its pockets.
