Up for auction is a 2005 Ford E-350 Wolf Coach Hi-Top Van. This vehicle was previously owned by a Boston News Station. It has some of the electronics still in it but some of the equipment is missing. The van has a 6.8L V10 gas engine that runs great and an automatic transmission that shifts smoothly. The wheels are 16" and have Michelin tires around 70% good tread left, this is a single rear wheel van with a GVW of 9,400 lbs. The wheelbase is 134" It has outside power service for a 50 amp power cord and a 30 amp power cord on the opposite side, outside power outlets, generator cabinet on the drivers side rear with wiring and fuel lines. It also has a cabinet on the passenger side with electrical components. The interior has gray cloth seating in the front and gray carpeting, the rear has a gray vinyl floor and burgundy carpeting on the walls. It has roof A/C(missing inside cover), interior lights and power outlets, desk area and racks for TVs. It also has an Xantrex power inverter. The rear ceiling area has a spot for the mast, the mast has been removed and covered in the floor and ceiling area. It has a distribution box and gauges, no generator and no power cords. Watch Ken Block's scary Rally America crash from inside the cockpit
Wed, 19 Feb 2014Ken Block became famous for his series of Gymkhana videos, but he's a real racer in his own right. Block has competed many rounds in the FIA World Rally Championship and also rallied in the 2013 Rally America series. He nearly won that latter title last year - if not for a massive crash in the final event of the season.
Block and his co-driver Alex Gelsomino went into the Lake Superior Performance Rally needing a win to take the championship. However, missing a clump of dirt on the side of the road and one little word in the pace notes was all it took to catapult Block's Fiesta off the road and into a tumbling accident. Block says his initial reaction was anger because the crash came out of nowhere.
For 2014, Block is joining the FIA World Rallycross Championship for at least three rounds. He'll drive a Ford Fiesta for the Hoonigan Racing Division at the Norwegian, French and Turkish events of the 12-round championship. Former Formula One World Champion Jacques Villeneuve will also compete in the series.
Man turns Ford Fiesta into a one-car band
Mon, 18 Nov 2013The one-man band is a rather ridiculous idea, drawing up images of one person attempting to manipulate several instruments, at once, in a vain attempt at creating music. It's usually represented by silly scenes like this. Interestingly, the concept isn't much more successful when the "man" in "one-man band" is replaced with "car," as we see in this video.
It seems that someone rigged up and edited (699 times, we might add) a Ford Fiesta, a bucket, 12 PVC pipes and the natural sounds that a car makes to come up with a song. Now, we don't recognize the tune, so we've no idea if this is a cover or an original piece. And while it's hardly Beethoven, we have to admire the amount of effort the "conductor" went to in his attempt to turn a subcompact car into a musical instrument(s). Hyundai, BMW and Ford win Concept Vehicle of the Year awards
Sat, 06 Jul 2013More than two dozen jurors started with a pool of 23 concept cars introduced at the most recent Los Angeles, Detroit, Chicago, Toronto and New York auto shows, then pared it down to three winners in three categories for the twelfth annual North American Concept Vehicle of the Year Awards. The trophy-bearers are said to be those "vehicles most likely to shape the future of the automobile industry," and lead their classes in the Concept Car, Concept Truck and Production Preview divisions.
Hyundai had two cars as finalists for the Concept Car category, the competition boiled down to the Hyundai HCD-14 Genesis concept, Veloster C3 Roll Top, Honda EV-STER and the Toyota Corolla Furia. It won with the HCD-14 Genesis that was introduced at the Detroit Auto Show, a sharp sedan that sharply divided opinion between those who thought it was too much, those who thought it was too much Audi A7, and those who thought it was perfect. The award panel's judges, however, thought so much of it that it's got two awards in one sitting, not only taking concept car honors, but because it earned the highest overall score in the competition it also takes the crown for Most Significant Concept Vehicle of 2013.
The final selection in the Concept Truck category was down to the Ford Atlas, Kia Cross GT, Nissan Resonance and Volkswagen Cross Blue. The Ford Atlas took the silverware, after also winning the Eyes on Design award - shared with the Nissan Resonance - at the Detroit Auto Show where it was introduced.
