1998 Ford E-250 Work Van w/ "character"

She's been many places and seen lots of work but she's not quite ready for the pasture yet.  In her early life she helped Ma Bell's spin-off, Ameritech, service their customers.  More recently she's hung out filling in as a trusty go getter set of wheels for our remodeling company.  Having sat for the last 6 months unused, it's time to find a new barn.  She fired right up with clear exhaust - no sign of burning oil.  Transmission seems to shift well.  Ladder rack in good shape.

Recently beat a turtle off the line but if you're looking for a speed demon you should move on.

Someone out there has got to have a little love for this old box with wheels!

CONDITION: Naturally Aged -pimply rust here and there but for its age, not too bad.
FEATURES: Custom hand built wooden shelves sporting a thin layer of dust, a partially used box of nails, canvas drop cloth and a couple pieces of trash. ladder rack on the top and a passenger door who's lock won't work with the key
HISTORY: She's been around the block.  Scars indicate one or multiple Ameritect employee/s once piloted this 'ole wagon.  If only the sheet metal could talk...
SHIPPING & PAYMENT: If we're discussing the shipping part you're a scumbag in Nigeria looking to fleece a sucker... move on. Local Pickup ONLY!  For Payment, Cash is King.  We'll meet at our bank to sign the title over to you and the teller will check the US Greenbacks for authenticity.

I'm sure she'll be a good ride for someone!

eBay Find Of The Day: 1988 Saleen Ford Mustang General Tire 21R race car

Tue, 29 Jul 2014

Saleen may be making headlines these days for working on the Tesla Model S, but its history and bread-and-butter is all about the Ford Mustang. The rear-wheel-drive Dearborn pony cars singlehandedly put the company on the map in the '80s. Founder Steve Saleen was already a talented American racing driver when he started the venture, and like many auto industry businesses before him, Saleen went to the track to prove his vehicles' worth. Now, there's a chance to buy one of those early racers on eBay Motors.
Saleen Mustangs raced in the Sports Car Club of America Escort Endurance Championship - a series of multi-hour races meant to challenge man and machine. Ostensibly a showroom stock class, the cars had larger wheels, tuned suspensions and other upgrades that stretched the concept slightly. Saleen found major success though, taking the championship for its class in 1987 and winning the 24 Hours of Mosport consecutively from 1986 through 1988.
According to the seller, Saleen only built eight of these cars, and this one carries the #21R serial number. They all started life as new Mustangs from Ford dealers but were immediately stripped and prepped to go racing. Beyond obvious mods like a roll cage, they featured eight-inch wide wheels in front, an inch of additional track width, stiffer suspension bushings and much more.

2015 Ford F-150 [w/videos]

Thu, 02 Oct 2014

To learn more about the all-new 2015 F-150 and get an early read on its potential hero-or-zero status, we flew to the heart of full-size pickup truck country, San Antonio, TX, to spend a day driving, towing and playing in the mud with an assortment of Ford's innovative new trucks.
First, a caveat - while we feel we have a reasonably good handle on the new F-150 after attending this first-drive event, we are far from ready to pass definitive judgment on the success of this radically new rig. Our time in the various models was lamentably limited and we felt rushed. With so much at stake and with so much to talk about and experience, we had zero alone time with the vehicle - there were Ford folks shadowing us at every moment.
And we still don't know everything there is to know about the trucks, as Ford is withholding some of its most crucial numbers, including curb weight data and anticipated EPA fuel economy figures. We don't even have a firm on-sale date. All of this information is typically disclosed - or at least officially estimated - at the time of a new vehicle's first drive. This limits the scope of the judgments we feel comfortable making based on our first encounter.

Ford Mustang pinball machine has supple wrist, plays by sense of smell [w/video]

Fri, 07 Feb 2014

Ford didn't have anything major to show off at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show, so it seems it instead opted to have some fun - it brought a row of pinball machines to the show. Yes, pinball machines.
We originally told you about the Stern Pinball Ford Mustang machine a few days ago, and as day two of the Chicago show is a bit of a slow one, we opted to head to the show floor and get some snaps of the bank of new machines. Not surprisingly, there's plenty for the Mustang fan in each of these machines, ranging frond different models, to logos to a full model.
Take a look below for our full gallery of live shots, available up top. Then head below for our original gallery of stock images, along with a video and press release on the new machines.
