1973 Ford E200 Econoline SuperVan for SaleBuy This Classic 1973 Ford Turtle Top CamperLoaded w/ Sink, Stove, Furnace, Fridge and More!is a rare and original 1973 Ford Pop Top Camper for sale. Not many of these "turtle top" campers were made, so finding one with just 29k original miles in such amazing condition as this one is a real blessing. This was a one-owner vehicle until the Spring of 2014. The original owner (a very charming lady) kept the van in a special garage in the back yard when it wasn't in use. She stored it every winter so it never saw salt or snow. This is the ultimate camping vehicle! There is a working stove, a working sink, a refrigerator and even a furnace in this van! The stove works and you can see it light up in the videos that accompany the Web Page for this van. The sink works by pumping the hand pump, and if it is connected to electricity there is an electric pump for the sink as well (I only tried the hand pump during my inspection as we weren't near a place that had RV hookup). The roof of this van pops up so you get the advantage of full headroom plus the advantage of better gas mileage verses a "high top" camper (one that is always tall). The roof pops up high enough that even a 6 foot tall person can stand inside without hitting their head on the ceiling! The top works with a compressor but the compressor isn't functioning. But the top can be raised manually. A new or rebuilt compressor should get the top working automatically again. The hydraulic system still looks complete. What a cool system! Other camping benefits include vintage air conditioning (the belt isn't hooked up for the A/C currently), and a full fold down bed and pop up table for seating. The fun is nearly endless with a vehicle like this. This Ford Pop Top Camper has the following amenities:
A complete tune up was just completed on the low-mile engine. Here is a list of what was done this summer:
The van starts and idles great. The power steering works effortlessly. The van runs and drives well and the body is nice and solid. Have a look through the photos in the galleries below and you will be able to fully appreciate the current condition of this rare, classic 1973 Ford Econoline Turtle Top Camper for sale. This 2,000-hp Mustang is in serious need of wheelie bars
Tue, 25 Feb 2014The Ford Mustang on the right is drag racing with the standard technique. The Mustang on the left, driven by David Measell, is using a new "rear bumper only" technique that evidently surprised everyone at the South Georgia Motorsports Park strip - including Measell.
Measell said his outfit just bought the car the week before the event, noting that it has more than 2,000 horsepower. Speaking of his "flying" run, Measell said, "We turned it up to dip on down," by which he meant they turned up the power in order to get his time down. Turns out all that power and all that traction sent the nose straight up into the air almost as soon as the race began.
He told an interviewer afterward that this was his first race in a "regular car" since he normally drives a pro-mod. "I like my wheelie bars," he concluded. You can see how he got there in the video below.
Detroit automakers gain market share simultaneously for first time in 20 years
Wed, 01 May 2013While monthly sales figures might be an easy way of tracking the progression of the auto industry and individual automakers, looking at market share might be more indicative of how each company is actually standing up against its competitors. For the Detroit Three automakers, they have collectively lost almost 30 percent of the market over the last 20 years, but now, for the first time since 1993, Ford, General Motors and Chrysler have each posted market share gains at the same time.
According to Automotive News, Ford's share increased the most by 0.7 percent, GM was up 0.5 percent and Chrysler rose marginally by 0.2 percent, giving the Detroit automakers a total market share of 45.6 percent. As for the Japan's Big Three, the article reports that Toyota is up by 0.7 percent, Nissan is down the same amount and Honda has seen "little change."
Ford Australia debuts Ranger-based Everest SUV concept
Tue, 13 Aug 2013Ford has been in hot water in Australia ever since it announced plans to end local production of the Falcon and Territory SUV. Besides canceling a model that is to Oz what the Mustang is to America, the end of production means more than a few folks will be out of work.
Keen to prove that it has a plan for the market, Ford has unveiled the Aussie-penned Everest Concept, a rough-and-tumble, seven-seat SUV. While not a direct replacement for the aging Territory (that role will eventually be filled by either the Edge or Flex, according to Car Advice) it's an indication from Ford's brass that the Blue Oval is still committed to Australia.
To prove that fact, Alan Mullaly, Mark Fields, Jim Farley and regional execs descended on Sydney for the debut of the new concept. Ford's Australian president and CEO, Bob Graziano, said of the Everest, "Our customers, our employees and Australia can be assured that we're connected to the nation and committed to our customers through terrific products with class-leading technologies."
