Beautiful P71 Under 40,000 Miles on 2040-cars
Rensselaer, New York, United States
This is a very low-mileage, extremely low idle hours, always unmarked, loaded 2008 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor with the coveted blacked out stealth look. I purchased it out of service from United States Government, where it appears to have been a dignitary car judging by the reading light installed in the back seat. I transferred out of a unit that provided take home cars in the summer of 2012 and have now returned to another that provides me with a take home vehicle so I don't need this car anymore. I purchased this car with 32,000 miles as a commute vehicle from my home to my office and it has served me very well. This 2008 has 37,936 actual, documented miles and 725 idle hours on it. This is a beautiful example of a very rare, hard to find car in the best color. This unit has never had a spotlight or decals and the antenna is a trunk lip mount so no hole. It has no holes drilled anywhere in the body and has never been in regular police service. This unit includes all of the options you would expect plus factory cruise control, factory auxiliary police dome lamp, factory AM/FM/CD stereo, driver and passenger side airbags, cloth front bucket seating with vinyl rear bench seat, full-factory carpeting w/matching factory carpeted floor mats, rear passenger reading light and an aftermarket center console for convenience. These items, of course, are just the beginning of the list of equipment on this car. It is finished in the factory Formal Black finish with Dark Charcoal interior. This is one of the most beautiful colors available on a Crown Victoria. With under 38,000 actual, original miles on it, the exterior is very nice and the interior shows nearly zero wear. It has been extremely well-maintained and it runs, drives and handles as close to new as you will find. It has never been abused and it looks gorgeous. All of the factory manuals are included with the vehicle, and are in place in the glove box. The trunk compartment is extremely clean, and the original full size spare tire is in place. I had a new high output alternator and battery installed in December 2013. This car has the full police package,
dark tinted windows and rides like a dream. If sold to a member of law enforcement or fire personal the whelen siren unit/control head and front and rear led warning lights will be deactivated and included. If not, they will be totally removed leaving no holes. All Crown Victoria’s produced from 2004-onward utilized the new, improved, 250-horsepower 4.6 liter V8 engine and are the fastest Crown Victoria’s produced due to many changes that were made, mainly in the intake system. Crown Victoria’s like this one are becoming extinct. Especially in this kind of shape, so here's your opportunity if you've been looking for one of the nicest you will find in desirable color combination with ultra-low mileage. This car drives as close to new as you will ever find. It is a very nice driving, tight unit...not a beat-up police car. It has never been used for any type of normal police or patrol work. It does have the usual minor scratches but they are like any used vehicle, not bad from decals or rough duty. It does have a large scratch on the front end that I have added photos of. Either the agency or Dealer I bought it from filled in the scratch and tried to cover it with touch up paint. But other than that this car is beautiful…This 2008 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor will sell to the high bidder at the end of the auction, providing the reserve is met. Please email me with any questions. |

Tanner Foust gets eponymous hotted-up Ford Focus ST from Cobb Tuning
Thu, 14 Mar 2013Racer and Top Gear USA host Tanner Foust has partnered up with Cobb Tuning to create a special-edition Ford Focus ST. The limited-edition hatches will come packing a reflashed ECU, special intercooler, tweaked intake and freer-flowing exhaust for up to 20 percent more power than the stock creation. Cobb says that the changes should push the final dyno figure to above 300 horsepower. Buyers can also expect to find special carbon fiber aerodynamic bits on board along with a new grille, graphics and wheels. Cobb hasn't released pricing on this Tanner Foust Edition Ford Focus ST as of yet, but you can bet the whole kit won't be cheap.
Fortunately, the company will sell you bits and pieces from the overall package for your Ford, and word has it engineers are also whipping up a Foust Fiesta ST. Look for Cobb's Focus ST website to go live next month, complete with accurate specs and pricing. Until then, enjoy clicking through the gallery here. You can also check out the full press release below.
1964 Ford GT40 prototype sells for $7M
Mon, 14 Apr 2014Seven-figure Ferraris are not horribly rare. Heck, an eight-figure Ferrari isn't a rare occurrence. Between modern masterpieces like the Enzo and more classic offerings, cracking the million-dollar mark isn't a particularly tall order for the cars from Maranello. For a Ford, though, it's a big deal.
Now, this is not just some rare Mustang. This is a GT40, the car that Henry Ford II commissioned to whip Enzo Ferrari around a track in France. As far as the Le Mans-winning racers go, they don't get much rarer than this one. Sold at the Mecum Auctions in Houston, this is one of the prototypes, meaning it's one of the very first GT40s ever built. That makes its $7 million winning a bid, a record for on-air coverage of the auction, a pretty darn impressive figure.
You can watch the auction below, but first, take a look back at our original story on this rare Blue Oval.
Ford Fiesta rally car warms up in Sweden
Tue, 18 Mar 2014Rallycross is seeing a sudden surge in popularity with two series bringing the racing to the US and Europe. The Ford OMSE team is competing in both championships this season, and it saw no reason not to hold practice with a highly modified Fiesta in the snow of Northern Sweden. It brought together Andreas Bakkerud from the European-focused FIA World Rallycross Championship and Patrik Sandell from the North American-focused Global Rallycross series for some training and fun. They certainly appear to be enjoying themselves, too, with some lovely pirouettes in the powder.
If you're unfamiliar with rallycross, the discipline combines the best of rallying and circuit racing. Drivers (with no co-drivers) race rally cars over a circuit that generally mixes dirt and asphalt, and unlike traditional rallying, multiple cars compete side-by-side at once. Even better, it's often a very two-fisted form of motorsports with lots of car-to-car contact. Global Rallycross and World Rallycross will both kick off their seasons in May. With spring on the way, scroll down to watch the Fiesta kick up some of the last snow drifts of the year.
