2006 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor - Used In Fair Condition on 2040-cars
Pocahontas, Arkansas, United States
This auction is for a 2006 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor used in police duty with this department since 2008. The pictures tell all on the condition of the exterior and interior of the vehicle. The exterior is free from any major damage. There are a few small dents, dings, and scratches. The most notable damage is located on the rear bumper cover - passenger side where there is a small crack in the fiberglass. Also, on the front passenger side, the inner fender is coming apart from the front bumper cover. The interior is free of any rips or tears in the fabric. The seats are in good condition. The door-sill trim-piece is missing from the passenger side.
The LED odometer display has quit functioning, therefore an accurate reading of mileage is impossible without fixing the display first. The gas log indicates that the officer filled the vehicle up with gas on July 17, 2014 and the mileage was 135,267. The next fill-up was on July 24, 2014 and a reading was not available. This vehicle was taken out of service in the middle of August 2014, the last fill-up being made on August 15, 2014 and the gas gauge indicates 3/4 tank. We average around 150 miles on each tank, putting the added mileage around 750 more miles. Again, exact mileage is unknown, but a picture of the gas log book was included to help the bidder to get an idea where it's at. The vehicle does not burn any oil. I took this vehicle for a test drive shortly after the pictures were taken and had no troubles starting, driving, or stopping the vehicle. The take-off is still very strong, steering still smooth. I did notice a little vibration while coasting around 35mph, suspect that this is due to tire condition. The tires are worn and mismatched. They would be good for ride home and possibly more in decent weather, but that is at your own discretion, and they will ultimately need to be replaced by the winning bidder. I also noticed that the vehicle will "chug" a little bit when the gas pedal is applied at a mid-range speed (20-40mph). There is no warranty on this vehicle and the bidder takes the vehicle as-is. Buyer agrees to pick-up and/or transport the vehicle with their own resources. Any more questions can be directed to 870-378-2384, call or text. Thanks for your interest! |

Ford announces first non-pursuit-rated police car ever
Wed, 18 Sep 2013Ford announced its first non-pursuit-rated Police Interceptor ever, based on the Taurus, which employs the smaller 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine in place of similar pursuit-rated Police Interceptors powered by naturally aspirated 3.5-liter and 3.7-liter V6s and the top-spec 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. Officially called the Special Service Police sedan, the car was commissioned at the request of law-enforcement agencies that desire a more fuel-efficient vehicle for detectives, administrators and campus police, who don't necessarily need pursuit-rated vehicles.
The 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine produces 240 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque, but more importantly, it allows the SSP sedan to achieve somewhere in the neighborhood of 22 miles per gallon city and 32 mpg highway, which are the civilian 2.0-liter Taurus' official EPA ratings. Ford estimates that the SSP sedan will get 20 mpg city, 30 mpg highway and 23 mpg combined, with the help of Active Grille Shutters that open to allow more cooling air through to the radiator, or close to optimize aerodynamics and fuel economy. Those numbers compare favorably to the discontinued Crown Victoria-based Interceptor's 14 mpg city and 21 mpg highway and the newer Taurus-based cars equipped with V6s, the most fuel efficient of which gets 18 mpg city and 26 mpg highway.
If it was driven 90,000 miles over the course of three years, a 2.0-liter SSP sedan would save law enforcement agencies $5,042.92 versus the Crown Vic, Ford estimates. The EPA is expected to post official fuel-economy numbers for the SSP sedan in December. Until then, read the press release below for more information.
Ford unveils all-new 2016 F-650 and F-750 at NTEA
Tue, 04 Mar 2014Medium-duty work trucks might not be the most exciting vehicles, but they perform necessary jobs everyday. Ford is in the process of a complete refresh of its entire commercial vehicle lineup over the next 18 months, and it is debuting the all-new versions of its F-650 and F-750 trucks at the NTEA Work Truck Show in Indianapolis, IN.
"The all-new F-650/F-750 allow us to leverage our strengths and sales leadership in Classes 1 to 5 to create a better F-650/F-750 that's designed, engineered and built by Ford in the USA," said Ford spokesperson Mike Levine to Autoblog via email.
Huge amounts of torque is vital for trucks like these, and both models are offered with some of Fords biggest engines. Buyers can opt for either the 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 diesel with TorqShift 6-speed automatic with available power takeoff or a gasoline-fueled 6.8-liter V10 with a 6-speed automatic. The V10 can also be ordered from the factory to be fueled by compressed natural gas or liquid propane gas.
Google's new Android Autos OS unveiled, will be in cars this year [w/video]
Wed, 25 Jun 2014Connected cars are coming en-masse. We know this much. How, though, remains something of an open question, especially as two of the world's largest tech companies are preparing to battle for control of your car's dashboard. On the one hand, we have Apple and its CarPlay system. And now, we know what Google has been working on with Auto Link.
Its new name is Android Auto, and yes, it's based off the Android architecture that is the primary challenger to Apple's iOS mobile operating system. Announced at Google's I/O conference today, Android Auto functions similarly to CarPlay - owners will need to plug their smartphones into their cars to access the full breadth of capability.
In Android Auto's case, that means a wealth of voice controls to limit distracted driving. Google's marquee apps will be available when the interface arrives in production models later this year, including Google Play Music, Google Maps and voice-activated texting and text playback. Meanwhile, developers will be able to begin designing custom apps for the new system via an upcoming software development kit.
