***NO RESERVE***This auction is for a unmarked 2003 Ford Crown Victoria Police interceptor with 93,020 miles. This vehicle runs and drives VERY SMOOTH AND QUIET WITH NO PROBLEMS!! This vehicle has a VERY CLEAN CARFAX REPORT which is free on the Ebay listing!! It was acquired straight from the City of Chicago Police detective bureau and still has the ORIGINAL TITLE FROM NEW TO THE CITY as seen in the pictures which is clean and clear. It has CLEAN PAINT, GOOD TIRES, GOOD ENGINE, GOOD TRANSMISSION, GOOD GLASS WITH NO CRACKS, GOOD HEATING, POWER WINDOWS, POWER MIRRORS, DUAL AIRBAGS, AND COLD AC FOR THE SUMMER. NO RUST, NO MAJOR DENTS, NO LEAKS, NO NOISES. It has Firestone Firehawk PV41 police tires with very good tread. It has the nice premium interior which is very rare in the police Crown Victorias. It has 2 antennas on the roof that are still completely intact and do not have any leaks or flaws. The interior is kinda dirty and may need cleaning, other than that, the car has no flaws and all mechanical and electrical components are good! Note, the hood is open in the picture only because the battery was being replaced at the time the pictures were taken, it shuts fine. The least I can take on this car is $1500, so therefore this is a NO RESERVE AUCTION!! F-150 just the start of Ford's aluminum plans
Tue, 14 Jan 2014Not only have we been told that the 2015 Ford F-150 is tougher, more durable and up to 700 pounds lighter than the current truck, Ford COO Mark Fields said it's also "CAFE-positive." That means, for the first time in the history of corporate average fuel economy standards, the F-150 would be a positive contributor on Ford's CAFE balance sheet instead of being a vehicle it needs to counterbalance with frugal offerings.
Fields' comments made at the Detroit Auto Show were among quotes from other Ford execs that confirmed the carmaker will be using aluminum for more of its vehicles. CEO Alan Mulally said it would "proliferate across our lineup," with speculation being that we'll see it applied to crossover and sport utility models first, since they'll benefit the most. Even gaining the massive scale of using aluminum on the world's best selling vehicle for its first effort - on average, the company sells two times as many F-150s in a single day as Land Rover sells of its aluminum Range Rover in a month - Ford will be looking to further spread the cost of its five-year development investment in aluminum technology. And that should mean better handling and fuel economy for those of us who don't need to wear hardhats at the office.
Ford Fusion and Fusion Hybrid nab five-star ratings from NHTSA
Thu, 24 Jan 2013Ford's Fusion and Fusion Hybrid have both received the highest five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The rating is a big upgrade for the Fusion, which was completely redesigned for 2013. The previous model fell one star short of the top rating, after scoring only three stars in the frontal crash test and four stars in the side crash test and rollover evaluations. The 2013 Fusion received four stars in side crash and rollover testing and a full five stars in the front crash test.
Test results for the 2013 Fusion and Fusion Hybrid were greatly improved at least in part due to Ford's Personal Safety System. The system utilizes smarter sensors to gather crash data and tailor the car's restraint systems to the occupants. Seatbelt usage and seat position are taken into account to ensure airbags deploy with less pressure for smaller drivers, more for larger drivers.
The 2013 Fusion twins also received the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety Top Safety Pick+ designation. Read the official press release below.
Toyota tops Kelley Blue Book's Resale Value Awards
Tue, 27 Nov 2012Kelley Blue Book announced its annual Best Resale Value Award winners, and we weren't too surprised to see the list dominated by Japanese automakers - mainly Toyota and Honda. KBB hands out the awards based on the projected residual value of mostly all 2013 model year vehicles, and Toyota skated home with a number of awards including 10 of the 22 overall categories and having five of its products in the top 10 for models with best resale value. KBB's Best Resale Value Awards were announced in the same week as the ALG Residual Value Awards, and there were many similarities between both lists, especially when it came to Toyota.
To come up with its winners, KBB measures depreciation over the first five years of ownership, and looks for the cars it expects to hold its value the best after this time; on average, the report says the 2013 model year vehicles will lose 61.8 percent of its value in five years. Of the 22 categories, 15 slots were filled by Toyota, Honda and Nissan products, while the Camaro and Porsche (Cayenne and Panamera) each took home a pair of awards. If Toyota has anything to be upset about in this list of cars, it's that categories for Hybrid/Alternative Energy Car and Electric Vehicle went to the Ford Fusion and Chevrolet Volt, respectively.
The overall top 10 models for the best resale value in 2013 are, in alphabetical order:
