Re-listed, the last buyer wanted me to send my account and routing number so he could pay me. I will not send my bank account info to anyone.

This car is priced to sell, go look at any other P71 for this price, then look at there millage.

1999 Crown Vic P71 with 96,616 miles. Portage IN Chief's car. I just replaced all 8 Coil Packs, spark plugs, Idler and tensioner pulley, ac compressor, fuel filter, air filter, belt and just had a oil change with the 5,000 mile oil added for extra protection. Mechanically the car is solid, its a P71. We all know these cars are used by police and taxi services because the are extremely reliable. My company gave me a work car, I have my brand new Chrysler and a 79 Z28 + wife's car and we live in a town home with limited parking. The body is solid, there is rust starting to pop out on the lips of the fender wells, and on the lower part of the drivers fender. The trunk does have to plugs and the roof has one. It has the black cop rims with the chrome center caps, and the black grill. The paint is still bright, the spot light works and its fun driving because all the idiots that drive slow in the left hand lane surly move out of your way when your coming up behind them. Great if your running late. I could ask more for the car but I think it is a fair price, I am not getting rid of it because of money, I just have no room for it. It is currently on my neighbors driveway.

The interior is standard rubber mat instead of carpet, cloth seats in front "pleather" in back. cloth seats have some wear on them back are fine.

The is one heck of a reliable car that will run for countless miles. Everything that goes wrong with them around 100,000 has been replaced before it could go bad. I learned along time ago in the military, that it is easy and cheaper to replace parts that are know to break at certain miles, than it is to let it break then fix them.

Ford partnering with MIT, Stanford on autonomous vehicle research

Fri, 24 Jan 2014

Ask any car engineer what's the biggest variable in achieving fuel economy targets, and he'll tell you "the driver." If one human can't understand human driving behavior enough to be certain about an innocuous number like miles per gallon, how is an autonomous car supposed to figure out what hundreds of other drivers are going to do in the course of a day? Ford has enlisted the help of Stanford and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to find out.
Starting with the automated Fusion Hybrid introduced in December, MIT will be developing algorithms that driverless cars can use to "predict actions of other vehicles and pedestrians" and objects within the three-dimensional map provided by its four LIDAR sensors.
The Stanford team will research how to extend the 'vision' of that LIDAR array beyond obstructions while driving, analogous to the way a driver uses the entire width of a lane to see what's ahead of a larger vehicle in front. Ford says it wants to "provide the vehicle with common sense" as part of its Blueprint for Mobility, preparing for an autonomous world from 2025 and beyond.

Ford hiring 800 more salaried workers than originally expected

Wed, 24 Jul 2013

Ford is on a roll this year, with excellent quarterly earnings and better-than-expected vehicle sales leading to 800 more job opportunities with the Blue Oval. In January, Ford announced that it wanted to hire 2,200 salaried employees, but, since then, that figure has been revised to 3,000, representing a 36-percent increase over original projections. About 1,500 of those jobs remain, 80 percent of which are technical professional positions.
"Engineers and technical professionals are in as much demand as our cars, trucks and SUVs," says Felicia Fields, Ford Group Vice President for Human Resources. Helping to spur this job growth are increasing market share on both the West and East Coast and robust demand for the Ford Escape and F-150.
To find job candidates, Ford is reaching out to them via Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, in addition to the company's corporate career site. The Blue Oval is also ramping up its presence on college campuses.

Ken Block ain't got a care about ruining his wheels

Tue, 22 Jan 2013

During a drifting session at Irwindale Speedway in California, Ken Block made a boo-boo that would send a number of drivers immediately back to the infield. But there's an answer to "What do you do when you bash the wall while drifting and your wheel explodes?" and there's completely different answer when the question begins with the phrase, "When you're Ken Block..."
Instead of us telling you how Block handled the calamity in his Ford Fiesta competition car, you can watch it happen in the video below. You can probably also guess what it is - but it's more fun to watch.
