Up for auction is my 72 Ford Bronco.  I purchased it off of ebay in December of 2011.  It has a DSO code of 23 (Memphis), and from looking at the previous title and speaking with the previous owner it lived its entire life in Mississippi or Western Tennessee. I had intentions of restoring it, but it's just not going to happen.  I would like to  see it go to somebody who will restore it. As far as it's condition:

Body  The hood is not salvageable, the grille would need some work to make it look acceptable, the front fenders are good, the door on the drivers side has a three inch rust spot on the bottom front corner. The passenger side door has some minor dents where the mirror mounts.
The door strikers and posts are very nice and solid.  The quarters were cut and on the lower portion of the drivers side quarter there was damage that was improperly fixed (bondo) why they did not pull it I have no idea, it is solid metal with bondo over it.  The tailgate is rust free.  The floors were patched with a piece of sheet metal over it.  The front passenger side of the core support was rotted from the battery.  The rocker panels are nice with only a few rust bubbles.  The bumper that was on the front was hideous, I cut it off with a cutoff wheel.  No front bumper included.

Interior  Seats need reupholstered

Drivetrain  The truck runs and drives, i use it around the neighborhood.  I have rebuilt the carb, new radiator and water pump.  New gas tank from Tom's.  New front and rear brake linings, also included in the sale are front disc brake parts from a 78 Bronco (You will need to supply the lines, calipers and rotors).

Suspension  The front suspension needs replaced. But, since it needs restored it would get replaced any way.  The steering box has an excessive amount of play and will need to be rebuilt.

Top  The top has some screws driven through the top, and also had a CB antenna poked through at some point.

Payment  Payment in full will be expected within 7 days.  A $500 dollar deposit will be required via PayPal within 48 hours.  The Bronco is sold as-is where-is.  No warranties.

If there are additional photos required or you need to know more about it, send me a message and I will get you an answer.

Shipping is the responsibility of the purchaser.

Ford Mustang returning to Australia in 2016

Mon, 15 Jul 2013

Australia's Herald Sun newspaper has reported that the next-generation Ford Mustang is heading Down Under in 2016, just as Ford is hanging the "Closed for Good" sign on its Australian manufacturing operations and sending the Falcon to its grave. Ford hasn't offered any official word on the matter, but the paper says that Ford's global VP of sales and marketing, Jim Farley, is flying to Australia to make the announcement himself.
While Ford converted Mustangs in the early 2000s from left-hand to right-hand drive for the Australian market and then sold them at high prices, it's been almost five decades since Ford imported a dedicated right-hand-drive Mustang to Oz. The arrival of the global model specifically made for places like Australia and the UK means Ford will also be able to offer them at better prices than the converted models; the Herald Sun says the price is expected to be "close to $50,000."
And that's for one of the "V8 performance models," which are the only ones Australia will get; Ford apparently won't send the turbocharged four cylinder or the V6. The Aussies could find out in a month from now whether this rumor is true. We will all find out what this Mustang fuss is about when the car debuts at next year's New York Auto Show.

Ford acquires Livio to bolster connectivity biz

Thu, 26 Sep 2013

Ford Motor Company has announced the acquisition of Livio, a Ferndale, MI-based software development company best known for aftermarket in-car connectivity devices, but also as a supplier of technology for proprietary systems for automakers. Livio, co-founded by Sigal and Massimo Baldini, will be a wholly owned subsidiary of Ford Global Technologies.
"With the additional expertise Livio provides us, Ford intends to continue to lead the next generation of in-car connectivity with technology advancements that give consumers more options to access their devices on the go," said Paul Mascarenas, chief technical officer and vice president, Ford Research and Innovation, in a statement.
Ford is clearly trying to beef up its in-house tech capability around telematics and device connectivity. While the Blue Oval has been a leader in these areas with SYNC and MyFord Touch in terms of getting the systems into as many cars as possible, the execution of the applications have been criticized for glitches.

Ford Ranger-based 7-seat SUV spotted testing

Wed, 29 May 2013

Ford looks to be working on a new SUV version of its global Ranger pickup truck. An early prototype of a seven-passenger SUV based on the Ranger has been spotted testing in Australia, and word has it buyers in the region could expect to see the model in showrooms as soon as 2014, where it could sail under the Endeavour or Everest badges. Ford Australia currently sells the Territory SUV, so there's some chance that this model could be a successor to that throne, as well.
Whatever it's called, the long-roof Ranger will feature a shorter wheelbase and more ground clearance than its pickup twin, giving the machine a bit more off-road functionality. (And here we thought we couldn't want the global Ranger any more than we already do.) While this particular vehicle sports a Territory back half grafted onto a Ranger front end, odds are a public reveal of the finished product could occur as soon as the second half of 2014, making it a 2015 model. Head over to Carsguide.com.au for a closer look.
