Up for auction is a 1977 Ford Bronco that is in excellent condition. This bronco has all the options that Ford offered plus Air Conditioning!! It has a strong running 302 that has been rebuilt in the past. Has a mild cam in it. The motor has less than 40,000 miles on it since the rebuild. It just received a new oil pan gasket and oil change with filter. It cranks up and runs great! It has a nice set of headers that dump into glass packs. This bronco sounds great!! It has aluminum valve covers that have the bronco script on them. It has an aluminum radiator. Has an aluminum intake manifold topped with an Edelbrock 4-Barrel Carb. It has a rebuilt C-4 automatic transmission that just received a new cork pan gasket, filter, and trans. fluid change. The transmission is strong and it shifts good. Original Dana 20 transfer case is in great shape. J pattern shifter is tight and works well. The original locking hubs work fine and overall the 4-wheel drive is in great condition. This bronco has the original 4-turn power steering setup that works great and I just replaced the pressure hose due to a leak. It has a Dana 44 front end with power disc brakes that also work excellent. This bronco handles better than any other bronco I have ever dealt with. It has a very nice ride and stops nice and straight and as quick as you could ask for. Underneath has been covered (body and frame) with undercoating that appears to have been done at the dealership before it was originally sold. That is why it looks like there is a thick coat of dirt on everything but it definitely helped keep the rust away for the most part. This bronco has the Vintage Air AC system in it. It works wonderfully! It will cool the entire cab on a hot day with no problem. All gauges work. This bronco only has a main gas tank. That is the way it came from the factory but an aux tank could be added. The body on this bronco is very solid and nice and straight. I don't believe that there is a perfect bronco out there but this one is as close as I've seen. It just received a new coat of paint (Original Ford Color-Medium Emerald) and it is beautiful!! At the same time it was repainted, I also added the color matched spray-in bed liner to the floors. The top is lined with Dynamat as well as the inside of the doors and behind the rear quarter panels. It has an after market headliner in the top that is very nice. The seats have been recovered and are in great shape. The dash pad is an original Ford dash pad and it is perfect. It has a Tuffy lockable console. It has a Pioneer CD deck with aux input as well as usb input. Has two Pioneer 6x9's and a 10" JL Audio Subwoofer both powered by Kicker amps. The windshield is in excellent shape with no defects. The rest of the glass is original and there are a few imperfections and a scratch (driver's side vent window) but none of them affect the driver's ability to operate the vehicle safely. Door glasses have new weather stripping. The lift gate has gas strong arms that lift it with ease. Tailgate has new stainless handle and bucket. The bronco has all new gaskets on the doors and top. All new lenses and headlights. Nearly new 32" BFG All-terrains on Ultra wheels (both in very good shape with many, many miles left). New chrome outside door handles with the original ford guts in them work like they should. It has brand new triple plated show chrome bumpers that look amazing!! I tried to list everything on this bronco but I'm sure I have left something out. Please ask any and all questions before placing a bid. I will do my best to answer ASAP. I can send you any picture of this bronco that you would like to see, just let me know. Any and all shipping arrangements and costs are the responsibility of the buyer. I will be happy to help load this bronco. THIS BRONCO TURNS HEADS EVERYWHERE IT GOES!!! Just this afternoon (4-19-14) while I was taking pictures, I had a guy stop completely in the road and just stare! I don't think the new owner will be disappointed in this bronco!!! Thanks so much for looking and good luck!!!!

You can now order Domino's pizza from your Sync-equipped Ford
Tue, 07 Jan 2014
The news keeps pouring in from the Consumer Electronics Show now underway in Las Vegas, and the latest comes from Ford which has announced two new apps for its Sync AppLink system.
First up is a cooperative app launched by Ford together with Domino's Pizza that lets drivers of the former order pizza from the latter right from their car. The service allows those with Ford Sync AppLink in their car or truck and are registered with a Domino's Pizza Profile to place an order for their favorite pie using Dearborn's voice-recognition software for either pickup or delivery. Save your information in your Pizza Profile and it'll be sent to your house without even the push of a button, which strikes us as awesome a use of technology as we've ever seen.
1964 Ford GT40 prototype to be auctioned in April
Wed, 12 Mar 2014The Ford GT40 owns a firm spot on the list of the greatest American racecars ever made, being the first car from the United States to take an overall win in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. And now Mecum will auction what it claims is second-oldest GT40 still in existence at its Houston sale on April 12.
The story of the GT40 is fascinating. Henry Ford II attempted to buy Ferrari in the early '60s, but Enzo refused. Ford decided if he couldn't have them, then he would beat the Prancing Horse on the track. Ford went to Carroll Shelby and asked him to spearhead the program. The early cars combined a steel monocoque chassis with Ford's 4.2-liter V8 engine pumping out around 350 horsepower. The first prototype made its public debuted on April 1, 1964, at the New York Auto Show.
Shelby kept building prototypes, including GT/104, which is for sale here. This version featured a lighter steel chassis and was raced at Le Mans in 1964. However, a fire forced it to retire. It was then repainted and had a 4.7-liter (289-cubic-inch) engine fitted. The chassis had its best finish at the 1965 Daytona Continental 2,000 Kilometers where it finished third with Bob Bondurant and Ritchie Ginther behind the wheel. Later that season, it was shipped back to Ford where it was restored and displayed at auto shows until 1971 when the automaker sold it. Since then, it has had many private owners.
Automakers' rush on aluminum may result in shortage
Thu, 13 Feb 2014Aluminum is the new buzzword in the automotive industry. The latest Range Rover and Range Rover Sport both take advantage of the lightweight material to shave huge amounts of body fat (only it's called "aluminium" over there). Audi and Jaguar have been using the stuff for years in their A8 and XJ, respectively, and now, aluminum is going mainstream, arriving on the 2015 Ford F-150.
While we're excited to see aluminum make an impact outside the premium market, its widespread adoption apparently won't come without some problems, notably in terms of supply. "There isn't an automotive manufacturer that makes vehicles in North America that we're not talking to," Tom Boney, of Novelis, the largest global supplier of aluminum sheetmetal, told The Detroit News.
According to Boney, Ford's use of aluminum on such a large scale has forced auto manufacturers in "every boardroom" to reconsider their plans following the F-150's unveiling, for one simple reason: there's not exactly enough aluminum to go around, at least in the short term. The auto industry presently only accounts for six percent of the aluminum sheet produced, but as the material is adopted by more and more brands, that figure is expected to swell to 25 percent within the next six years.
