1985 Ferrari Testarossa

1985 Ferrari Testarossa - Recent Major Service

NOTE: This car is a 1985, NOT a 1980. Ebay does not recognize the European VIN thus the 1980 in the title of the ad. Early Euro flying mirror Testarossa finished in Argento Metallizzato over Nero leather. Imported and registered properly in California with BAR tags, Cats and 16" center knock-off lug wheels with like new tires and current Smog. Original owner claimed this to be the first Testarossa imported to the US.

Major service completed Spring 2012 @ 24,615 miles. Comprehensive engine out service included cam belts, tensioners, clutch kit, plugs, O2 sensors, etc. at a total cost of $10,680. Receipts included with sale of vehicle. Cats were replaced 05/23/2010.

This car is in excellent condition in and out. Beautiful exterior, well preserved interior and the amazingly smooth and powerful flat-12 cylinder! I would recommend the next owner does either the Dave Helms or Birdman fuse block upgrade. The dash lights are blowing a fuse and the AC compressor does not appear to be getting power. All other electronics appear to work fine. I upgraded the fuse blocks in my previous 308s but haven't done so yet to this car. Serious buyers only. This has to be the best deal on a clean title, SERVICED, low mileage Testarossa in the nation! Asking $43,500.

Send me a message and a phone number and I will call you back. Thanks! Ward

Steve McQueen's Ferrari 275 GTB/4 to be auctioned in Monterey

Sat, 10 May 2014

We know from many, many years of watching classic car auctions, that there are certain qualities that ensure big money. For example, putting tiny silver horses and/or yellow badges on a red car will probably bring in a lot of cash. This is doubly true if said car hails from the 1950s or 1960s, and it's triply true if some dude drove it around in circles or if a celebrity owned it. That, friends, is how you make the serious dosh at auction.
Considering that, we should expect big, big things when this 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 crosses the block at the big RM Auctions event during the festivities surrounding the 2014 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
Terrence Steven McQueen, better known as Steve McQueen and even better known as the coolest actor of the 1960s and 1970s, originally purchased this car while filming Bullitt in San Francisco, which should provide a big boost to its sale price.

Race Recap: 2014 Italian Grand Prix goes heavy on rescue and recovery

Mon, 08 Sep 2014

In the two weeks it's taken Formula One to move from Belgium to Italy, fleet-footed rumor has outrun the driver transfer market - Fernando Alonso can't issue enough denials of a departure from Ferrari, McLaren isn't sure what it wants to do with its drivers, Lotus has found out why it stinks this year and that the problem can't be fixed this year, and Nico Rosberg is said to have donated a team-ordered six-figure fine to charity to atone for his Belgian waffling. Oh, and Lewis Hamilton regained his pole-grabbing form.
That's how the Mercedes AMG Petronas man found himself at the head of the grid for the Italian Grand Prix, ahead of his teammate Rosberg by a quarter of a second. And because the high-po Monza circuit loves a high-po Mercedes engine, Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa lined up in third and fourth for Williams, followed by Kevin Magnussen and Jenson Button in their McLarens. Alonso flattered the Ferrari again, lining up seventh, followed by the Infiniti Red Bull Racing duo of Sebastian Vettel and Daniel Ricciardo, but Sergio Perez in the Sahara Force India would make it seven out of ten for the Mercedes HPP engine program.
When the lights went out to start the race, Hamilton - and a few other top drivers - discovered that the work of recovery wasn't finished.

Ferrari FF coupe plans found in European patent application

Fri, 11 Oct 2013

The FF is quite a departure for Ferrari - it's the company's first hatchback and all-wheel-drive vehicle - so it isn't surprising that it rubs some people the wrong way, even if the car itself is very good. Well, judging from these patent drawings of what looks like a FF coupe filed with the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM), Ferrari has plans to build one.
We're not sure if Ferrari is planning a production run, however, and it's very possible this is a one-off special being built for a very rich customer, a la Eric Clapton and his 458 Italia. Patent drawings of Clapton's special 458 were filed with OHIM before it was finished, as well.
We think the regular FF is a good-looking car as is, but would welcome a coupe version if it looked like the one in these drawings. It could be a great alternative to the F12 Berlinetta for people who want all-wheel drive and a lower profile.
