2001 Ferrari 360 Modena, 12700 miles, Rosso Corsa over tan leather interior. F1 gearbox. Challenge grills, red calipers. Has the manuals, tool kit, car cover, and tire inflator.

This is a private sale and I have not owned the car for very long. I purchased the car locally with the intent of keeping it, however things have changed and I must let her go...regrettably.

The condition is very nice, as you would expect for a vehicle with this low mileage. Paint is in very good condition. a few very small marks on the hood from normal wear and tear. One small touch up spot on the bumper cover under the right hand headlight, approx 2mm x 8mm. This spot is not noticeable unless pointed out. The interior is very clean as seen in the photos. No heavy wear on the drivers seat bolsters that is very common. Some buttons are sticky which is very common on all Ferrari's. No shrinkage to the leather on the dash. Wheels are in good condition with no marks. Tires are Michelin Pilot Sport with approx 80% remaining.

At the time I purchased the car a minor service including oil , filter, and gearbox oil change was completed. This was done in January 2013. Also during the minor service the clutch was visually inspected and estimated at 70% remaining. The inspection also revealed that the left camshaft seal is seeping and needs to be resealed. The brakes are 70% remaining.
I have very few service records for the vehicle, which is not concerning as the vehicle has such low mileage, however I cannot verify if a belt service has been completed. Therefore, a belt service is recommended. If the car sells at the BUY IT NOW price, I will cover the cost of a belt service and cam reseal from my local Ferrari shop.

This is a very nice car. It is bone stock, with no modifications or after market parts. Carfax certified with no accidents or issues. Titled in California.
Please feel free to email me with any questions. Buyer responsible for all shipping costs and arrangements. Buyer can pick up in person if desired. I reserve the right t end the auction early as the car is for sale locally.

Chevy ad compares Spark EV with Ferrari 458 Italia

Thu, 18 Jul 2013

Chevrolet's new commercial for the 2014 Spark EV emphasizes the little hatchback's performance over pretty much everything else, and it even goes as far as to compare it to a Ferrari 458 Italia. That's right, the electric bubble is pitched in the commercial as having a higher torque figure than the Ferrari - and it does, with a massive 400 pound-feet ready to be unleashed.
That doesn't translate into a quicker car, however, as the 458's V8 with 570 horsepower and not-exactly-quaint 398 lb-ft gives it a 0-60 time of 3.0 seconds compared to the Spark EV's 7.6-second run.
"We think the fun-to-drive element is an area for us to differentiate ourselves," Sam Basile, executive chief engineer for GM's global minicars and emerging-market vehicles, told Automotive News.

Race Recap: 2013 Italian Grand Prix is mistakes, gremlins and metronomes [spoilers]

Sun, 08 Sep 2013

The low-downforce, 5.793-kilometer circuit in Monza, Italy is known as the Temple of Speed, but only a few of the qualifying performances would have clued you into it. Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber in the Infiniti Red Bull Racing chassis' lined up first and second, and it didn't seem like Vettel had to work too hard to do so. Nico Hülkenberg truly lived up to his nickname, The Hulk, and put his Sauber third on the grid, a massive drive and turn-of-speed that even he didn't expect, especially with his teammate Esteban Gutiérrez down in 13th.
The rest of the top ten was what you might expect. Shenanigans at Ferrari ended up with Felipe Massa out-qualifying Fernando Alonso for fourth and fifth, a situation that led to Alonso calling his team either "stupid" or "genius," depending on how you translate his Italian, his sarcasm and his honesty. They were followed by Nico Rosberg in the Mercedes-AMG Petronas, the soon-to-be Infiniti Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo in the Toro Rosso, the McLaren duo of Sergio Perez and Jenson Button and the second Toro Rosso of Jean-Eric Vergne.
Why wasn't Kimi Räikkönen at Lotus in that group? Because his car only had the pace to make 11th on the grid, so he said. And behind him, Lewis Hamilton - who "drove like an idiot," in his words - in the second Mercedes.

1954 Ferrari 375-Plus sells for record $18 million at Goodwood

Thu, 03 Jul 2014

Among all the action at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this past weekend, Bonhams held its classic car auction, bringing in a massive $38.4 million in sales. And this was undoubtedly the highlight.
Bearing the chassis number 0384 AM, this 1954 Ferrari 375-Plus has a storied racing history, competing that year in such events as the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Mille Miglia and the Silverstone endurance race, where the late José Froilán Gonzalez drove it to victory. One of only five made, the 375 Plus packed a 4.9-liter V12 with 330 horsepower under aluminum barchetta bodywork by Pininfarina. It was subsequently owned by Kleenex scion Jim Kimberly, trading hands between owners on both sides of the Atlantic and was the subject of a legal dispute over its ownership four years ago.
With the dispute now resolved and after heated competition between two bidders, the Ferrari finally sold for £10.7 million, equivalent to $18.2 million at today's rates and accounting for nearly half of the day's sales totals. Other highlights included a 1902 De Dietrich 16-HP "Paris-Vienna" Rear-Entrance Tonneau and a a '75 Lamborghini Countach, each of which sold for around $1.7 million - the latter eclipsing the example that Bonhams also recently sold for $1.2 million.
