1998 Ferrari 355 Berlinetta 6spd. on 2040-cars
Wayne, Maine, United States
I am the second owner of this pristine 355 Berlinetta Coupe. I purchased this car in Florida on 12/14/2000 with only 4911 miles. It was sold new by The Ferrari Collection in Coral Gables Florida on 10/22/97. It's always been a Florida car until I had it transported in an enclosed carrier to my summer home here in Maine back in May of 2008. It has a clear Florida title and has always been registered in the sunshine state. Always professionally maintained and serviced at the required intervals. The major "engine out" belt service was performed in Florida on 2/12/08 with 13,264 miles. A new clutch kit was also installed when this service was done. When I first acquired the car I had a Tubi Exhaust and a Challenge Grill installed. Recent servicing has been done including new front rotors, brake pads, and (4) new Michelin Pilot Sport tires. Included with the car is all of the original owner's manuals, tool kit, car cover, tire inflation kit, Ferrari battery maintainer, window sticker, and original sales brochures. I have three sets of keys w/remotes. This is a two owner car and I have owned this car for over fourteen years. A perfect CarFax with no accidents or paint work. This is and always has been a NON-SMOKER'S car. I will be glad to answer any question and will be glad to take additional pictures upon request. This car has been my pride and joy for a very long time and has been pampered it's whole life. You will not find a better 355 anywhere!

These are two Ferrari design studies that led to the LaFerrari
Tue, 26 Mar 2013Ferrari apparently worked through nine design concepts for its LaFerrari supercar recently shown at the Geneva Motor Show, and has put two of them on display at its museum in Maranello, Italy. Both from 2011, the Manta (pictured) is harder edged and looks closest to the finished product.
The other, the Tensostruttura, is much more fluid and looks like it probably came from the past or the future, not so much the present. You can check them both out in the videos below and register your take on what might have been.
Why newly independent Ferrari may be forced into fuel-efficient cars
Tue, 04 Nov 2014The repercussions from Ferrari's pending transition into an independent automaker won't be understood for some time, but one of the biggest consequences could be that the iconic Italian marque will be forced into building more fuel-efficient vehicles.
As Wired points out, while Ferrari built fewer than 7,000 cars in 2013, its status as a public company could trigger pressure from shareholders to build more six-figure supercars and grand tourers. In turn, doing so could lead the company afoul of US Corporate Average Fuel Economy standards, which dictate that any company that sells over 10,000 vehicles needs to maintain a certain fuel economy average across its fleet or risk fines.
With arguably its most popular model, the 458 Italia, hitting just 17 miles per gallon on the highway and its most efficient model, the turbocharged California T, stuck at 18 mpg, Ferrari isn't in a great place to hit the government's mandates (which are somewhat convoluted as Wired explains). The gist of the situation is that Ferrari will either need to continue limiting the number of vehicles it sells each year - a move that's certain to upset shareholders and irk its boss, Sergio Marchionne - or radically improve the fuel economy of its cars at the risk of performance. Rock, meet hard place.
LaFerrari gets shakedown from Fernando Alonso
Fri, 09 Aug 2013Fernando Alonso is quite cool behind the wheel, as evidenced by an earlier video where he gave a full interview while actively hooning a Ferrari F12 around the Nürburgring. So when you see the Spaniard somber-faced and sweating while hustling a Ferrari LaFerrari around the Scuderia's Fiorano test track, you know the new hypercar is pretty demanding.
Alonso doesn't give commentary on this one (except to the engineers at the end), but he does wrestle the 949-horsepower hybrid around the track. It does look like a handful. Take a look below for the full video.
