WISE INVESTMENT:

Now's the time to invest in a Ferrari and for several reasons, all of which make good economic sense. Think about it. The financial world has never settled since the recession.  Stocks go up and down; the real estate market is in a constant state of flux. Europe’s economy has had its fair share of troubles. Yet Art and Ferraris are going only one direction and that’s up.  Ferraris are an international commodity. They're desired from Beverly Hills to Beijing and bought, sold and shipped as such.

They're not making any more 328 Ferrari’s while they continue to mine for new gold and diamonds. India, China and Russia, the emerging economies, will add nearly 3 billion consumers to the 1 billion current Ferrari consumer categories (USA-Europe-Japan).  As those economies strengthen there will be an ever increasing demand for older/classic, Ferraris. Modern legislation means there will never be cars that look like the older/classic sculpted Ferraris designed by Pinin Farina.  Ferraris will continue to be great machines, but they will not be the cars built under Enzo Ferrari and designed by Pinin Farina when Ferrari truly was “Ferrari.”

Supply and demand set price. Dino’s are pushing $300k to $400k.  Pinin Farina, the same designer who designed the Dino also designed the Ferrari 328. The Ferrari 328 is the Dino’s successor. In the last several years the once unloved Ferrari 330GT 2+2 has gone from $30k to more than $100k!  Now is the time to buy your quality older/classic Ferrari’s…while they are still affordable. The Ferrari 328 is arguably one of the best looking Ferrari’s of the last 40 years.

HISTORY:

According to the publication Sports Car Market, “In my opinion the 328 is the best built, most reliable Ferrari ever. PERIOD. It is the product of a dozen years of 308 experience. It was solidly constructed with a steel body welded to an oval tube frame. It featured simple Bosch fuel injection, a go/no-go electronic ignition system and an engine you serviced without removing from the car.  Most important, it was the last Ferrari that could be repaired by a good import shop. The following generation of V8 Ferraris evolved into temples to high tech gadgetry. When something goes wrong with one of these technological marvels, you have to truck your car to an authorized Ferrari dealer—they’re the only place that has the computer necessary to fix your car.”

I am the 3rd owner of this beautiful Ferrari. This vehicle has been meticulously maintained with all proper paperwork and documentation. The vehicle has only been serviced by a Ferrari Dealer and certified Ferrari mechanics.

This car originated from Ferrari Kessler Auto Group in NYC in 1987. The first owner traded the car to Ferrari Miller Motors of Greenwich, CT in 1994 (Kessler Auto Group left NYC to become Ferrari Miller Motors) with 14,662 miles. The second owner purchased the car from Ferrari Miller Motors in 1994. The third owner (me) purchased the car in 2012 with 31,000 miles.

DETAILS:

Exterior is in flawless condition. The car was repainted by the second owner by a highly recommended exotic car auto body shop from Ferrari Miller Motors. Paint shows no scratches, dents, swirls marks or imperfections. You will not find a nicer paint job on a 328 and I consistently get compliments at car shows on how flawless this car looks!

Interior is great condition for its age showing some aging and wear. Carpets, dashboard, and roof liner are in pristine condition.  Only flaw is a small quarter inch wear mark in drivers side seat (see photo).

Professionally installed Alpine CD/Audio System including 6.5” component speaker system and amplifier.

SERVICES:

Full services completed by Ferrari Miller Motor Cars, Greenwich, CT (this car has two major services within its lifetime with the last major service being done less than 3,000 miles ago).

16,179 miles the following services were completed:

Dealer installed new clutch (when traded-in 1994)

24,430 miles the following services were completed:

30,000 mile services including replacement of all belts, timing belt, tensioners, CAM and DIST seals adjusted valves, spark plugs, all fluids, clutch adjustments, etc.

29,687 miles the following services were completed:

30,000 mile services including replacement of all belts, timing belt, tensioners, CAM and DIST seals adjusted valves, spark plugs, all fluids, clutch adjustments, etc.

31,200 miles the following services were completed:

Replaced water pump and removed original working catalytic converter. Replaced with custom racing test pipe (have saved all original parts).

The vehicle is garage stored and used only on various weekends throughout the summer season after the roads are cleaned from the winter sand/salt. Vehicle comes with all accessories, tools, manuals, covers and service/history documentation.

I even have the original window sticker from 1987 and original dealer bill of sale! The Ferrari 328 is the last real Ferrari designed by Pinin Farina and is timeless in design. The 3.2-litre V8 engine is one of Ferrari's most reliably motors with the lowest maintenance costs. If you’re looking for a stunning classic Ferrari that has been well cared for, this is the vehicle for you!

According to Ferrari Market Letter Ferrari 328GTS's are going up in value significantly and can only increase as they become rarer. Ferrari 328's are the continuation of the bloodline started with the 246's then evolved into 308's and finally vastly improved 328's. 328's are considered the most reliable and maintenance free of Enzo era Ferrari's.

Fiat Dino does a sexy Ferrari impression

Tue, 10 Dec 2013

In the modern industry, there's a clear distinction between Ferrari and its parent company, Fiat. Confusing the two is virtually impossible, although that wasn't always so. In the 1960s, the line between Fiat and Ferrari was still there, but it wasn't nearly so well defined, thanks to the addition of the Dino line.
And while we could essentially write a dissertation on Ferrari, Dino and Fiat, let's just say that it wasn't at all difficult to find a Dino-badged car that could still set your hair on fire. One such car from those halcyon days of Italian automotive production is the 1968 Fiat Dino Spyder, shown in the latest video from Petrolicious.
Now, this isn't the exotic, mid-engined Dino. Rather, this is a sporty, but humble, Fiat-badged convertible, that's a bit lesser known. Still, it's a truly gorgeous car, and this example, owned by Danny Soukup, is a prime specimen of that rare 1960s Italian car. Scroll down for the latest video from Petrolicious.

Ferrari to pay Fiat Chrysler $2.8B prior to spinoff

Sat, 15 Nov 2014

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is trying to get capital together in a hurry to finance the automaker's growth plans. Among its strategies to raise money, Ferrari will be spun off from the FCA mothership next year with an initial public offering. However, the Italian supercar maker will be a couple billion dollars poorer at the start of its new life.
According to a filing with US regulators obtained by Automotive News, FCA intends to "enter into certain other transactions including distributions and transfers of cash from Ferrari currently estimated at 2.25 billion euros ($2.8 billion)" before it spins the supercar maker off. Those funds might include paying a dividend to investors, and FCA possibly transferring some of its debt to the Prancing Horse.
The Ferrari IPO will likely be in the second or third quarter of 2015, according to Automotive News. Ten percent of the automaker will go onto the public market in the US and possibly Europe too, and 80 percent will be distributed among current FCA shareholders. The other 10 percent is held by co-chairman Piero Ferrari, according to AN.

2014 Ferrari F12 Berlinetta

Tue, 18 Feb 2014

Most cardiologists and physiologists maintain that a human's maximum heart rate is calculated with a mathematical formula: subtract a person's age from 220. But some leading doctors are now questioning the established academics, which trace their origins back to 1970, claiming that a simple formula isn't accurate for people of all ages, in particular those who are older. Rather than endorse the time accepted calculation, this progressive group argues that maximum heart rate equals 208 minus 0.7 times age.
While medical science continues its debate, I recently discovered a more elementary approach that disregards age and physical condition, and it requires no math.
To reveal a human's true maximum heart rate, I propose strapping test subjects into the driver's seat of a Ferrari F12 Berlinetta and then firing up its ferocious V12.
