1978 Ferrari 308 GTS Red with black interior serial number 26365 USA car which was produced November 1978. 141529 miles.  Carburetor car. Better looking european front spoiler.  16 inch BBS wheels. Car starts and runs well no smoke, syncros good. Windows work, lights work. Original California car with factory sticker indicating so still in lower front left of windshield.Still have old California title with car. Some service history from the 1980's in California which show clutch replacement, fresh shocks and suspension bushing this was done at mileage of 119,000. I was told a belt service was performed in the mid 1990's. Car needs body work and a service should be performed before the car is driven much, rear brakes are sticky also. Inspite of the mileage and the body work the car needs, it appears straight and the underside, engine compartment and A-arm areas appear cleaner than cars with   fewer miles, the interior also shows fairly well with faded carpets which is normal on older carburetored 308 cars. I have the spare tire and the car has a jack kit as well.  Reasonable reserve a bit over part out value.  I really think that if you purchased this car and just let it sit without doing anything other than changing the fluids and driving it around the block a few times a month, you will never lose money and as the US economy improves the older 308 carburetor cars in my opinion will only rise in value as the early Ferrari V-12 cars have done. For further details I have a page with many additional highly detailed photos of the car. Please go to forzamotorsports with the usual com ending.
Car is located in northwestern Connecticut about 75 miles north of New York City. If you have questions you can reach me thru ebay or call 860-350-1140. I can help arrange shipping to any location, but the buyer must pay for it. International buyers welcome. Thank you for looking at my listing.

Autoblog remembers its favorite Ferrari models of the Montezemolo Era

Thu, 11 Sep 2014

Italian cars have a reputation for drawing out the fiery, emotional and passionate sides of car enthusiasts - something that becomes abundantly clear when you ask a group of Autoblog editors to rank a list of their favorites.
With the departure of Luca di Montezemolo from Ferrari being fresh on our collective minds today, your friendly team of editors started pleasantly discussing which of the cars launched during his era was our favorite. The conversation was rousing, so we thought it would be entertaining to put the choices to a quick ranked vote, and bring you a sort of Editors' Choice list for road-going Ferraris from the 1990s through today.
Then, of course, all hell broke loose.

Race Recap: 2014 German Grand Prix is relapse and recovery

Mon, 21 Jul 2014

The 2014 German Formula 1 Grand Prix is the hump-day race in the season and the penultimate chance for drivers and teams to rack up points before the summer break. Trying to stay on top after his first DNF of the year at the British Grand Prix, Mercedes AMG Petronas driver Nico Rosberg didn't have to wait until the race for misfortune to find Lewis Hamilton; his British teammate crashed out of the Q2 qualifying session due to a brake failure, then had to change his gearbox due of the crash, a calamity that left him starting 20th on the grid.
Rosberg took pole ahead of the Williams duo of Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa, with Kevin Magnussen surprising everyone with a fourth place in his McLaren. Daniel Ricciardo put the first Infiniti Red Bull Racing in fifth, ahead of teammate Sebastian Vettel, Ferrari pilot Fernando Alonso, Toro Rosso driver Daniil Kvyat, the Force India pair of Nico Hülkenberg and Sergio Perez finishing the top ten.
In a replay of events in Britain but with a German accent, a first-lap incident brought out the Safety Car and the same Brazilian was taken out of the race.

Ferrari 412 picks up a teak cargo bed

Wed, 28 May 2014

While marques like Porsche and Lamborghini having already branched out into SUVs, with Bentley and Maserati soon to follow, Ferrari remains one of the few high-end automakers that refuses, for better or worse, to follow suit. But the boys in Maranello never said anything about a pickup.
That's precisely what we have here, although as you might have guessed, this was not (unlike the similar treatment BMW applied to the previous M3) a factory-authorized conversion. Instead it was undertaken by the London Motor Group, parent company to the London Motor Museum and London Supercar Workshop. It's based on a late-80s Ferrari 412, the 2+2 coupe that preceded the 456 GT, which in turn was replaced by the 612 Scaglietti and then the FF, itself Ferrari's first hatchback. In other words, it comes from a line that was ripe to mark a first in terms of Ferrari body-styles.
The one-off retains the 4.9-liter V12 and just about everything forward of the cabin. But behind it's got a three-foot pickup bed lined in teak. The London outfit also gave it a twin-barrel hood scoop, variable exhaust and a custom Bang & Olufsen sound system to round it out. The vehicle is set to feature on the History Channel's Ultimate Wheels, alongside a VW camper, Ford Mustang, Group B-inspired Audi and a unique Bristol.
