For sale is a 2003 Dodge Stratus that has been meticulously maintained. We purchased this car with 65000 miles on it and it has been serviced with Napa gold filters and full synthetic oil regularly. The air filter has also been changed every 15000 miles. The car has had some preventative maintenance performed as it got older. The timing belt, water pump, serpentine belt, all tensioner bearings and the power steering belt have been changed. All hoses, plugs and wires, a new battery, brake pads, and struts have also been replaced. Tires have a lot of life left. Car is in excellent mechanical condition. There are some cosmetic flaws. There is some rust starting in front of the rear tire on the driver's side. It is just on the surface and could be easily repaired. There are a few dings but the body is solid as well. The interior is also in good shape. Everything works as it should. There is a little wear on the driver's seat and the plastic cracked on the door handle, but it has been repaired. All of this is very minor. This car was a daily driver for years, but we moved and AWD is necessary. It would make a great school car or family car. It sips gas at about 26-27 MPG on the highway. Dodge Charger R/T NHRA Funny Car is ready to burn rubber at SEMA [w/video]
Wed, 05 Nov 2014The Dodge Charger R/T is all set to rocket down the drag strip in NHRA Funny Car competition with a completely redesigned body debuting at this year's SEMA Show. While only the front decal, side scallops and rear logo really signal this racer as a Charger, that doesn't take away from its promise of hitting absolutely ludicrous speeds.
The engineers' biggest tweak to the body was moving the cockpit further back. This created more clearance under the hood, and the change came with added advantage of giving the driver better visibility out of the car. Composites like Kevlar also helped make the one-piece shell even lighter, while not sacrificing strength.
The new design has already undergone extensive time in the wind tunnel and real-world runs to make sure that none of the changes negatively impacted the aerodynamics. With those tests out of the way, the Charger R/T Funny Car will have the first chance to truly prove itself in NHRA competition at the 2015 Winternationals from February 5-9 at Auto Club Raceway in Pomona, CA.
Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you
Thu, 21 Feb 2013As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.
2013 Dodge Dart GT offers subtle menace in compact form
Mon, 14 Jan 2013Dodge has already shared all of the relevant information about its all-new 2013 Dart GT, but it wasn't until now that we've seen the car, live and in person. The slightly meaner front fascia and bigger wheels look great on the Dodge, and the red-on-black perforated seats are sporting in an aftermarket sort of way.
To recap: The Dart GT also gets a bit more power, using a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine to make 184 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque. A starting price of $20,995 will get you LED taillights, dual exhaust, an 8.4-inch touchscreen and a 7.0-inch TFT display.
