133k Black 2005 Dodge Stratus R/t W/ Sport Auto Shift In Need Of Some Easy Fixes on 2040-cars

Year:2005 Mileage:133600
Location:

Irving, Texas, United States

Irving, Texas, United States

Fairly low mileage car with several little fixes needed but no major mechanical issues.  I've had the car thoroughly checked out by USAA as well as our local dodge specialist here in Irving and with the exception of the items listed below is in good mechanical condition given its a 2005.  KBB Private Party in FAIR Condition Value is $3,600.

Engine runs strong and transmission shifts smoothly.  Has an automatic/manual sport shifting technology making for some fun and spirited drives!

2.7L V6 R/T Engine
Sport/Auto/Slap Shift Transmission
Sun Roof (No leaks)
No Oil or Fluid Leaks
ICE COLD A/C
Minor Dings, Dents, Scratches

Serpentine Belt is loose and will need to be replaced soon.  Once replaced I'd feel comfortable driving this car anywhere in the country.  As a result of the belt being loose it squeaks some when first started but the annoying sound goes away soon after starting.  While I had it for sale locally someone broke into the car which caused damage to the driver side scissor arm and control assembly.  I still have the original door panel and electronic lock mechanism etc but the driver side power window assembly needs replacement.  The driver side door handle needs replacement as all this was damaged when the car was recently broken into.

Comes with an extra starter - I had an electric issue about 6 months ago and I thought I was going to need a starter so I bought one however the problem was with the alternator which I had replaced with a new part by a licensed mechanic.  Car is located in Irving, TX.  I would feel comfortable driving the vehicle most anywhere however knowing the serpentine belt needs to be replaced soon and is a bit loose I'd recommend replacing it before going cross country.

This vehicle is well suited for the buyer who is looking for a sporty and spirited daily driver and has the time, know how, and resources to fix the many small things that need to be fixed to be considered in Good or better condition.  I recently bought both a new car and a new truck and now need to let go of the car.  I still find myself preferring to drive this car over my new car as its much more exciting and fun to drive.

I'm not aware of anything else needing work on the car and have been as thorough as possible in describing the condition of the car.

Please make deposit of $500.00 within 48 hours of auction close and arrange for the balance within one week of auction close.  Plan on picking up the vehicle in a reasonable time frame (a week or two or call me to work it out) I can deliver the vehicle within a couple hundred mile radius for a minimal convenience fee.

2015 Dodge Challenger looks fresh, still plenty retro [w/video]

Thu, 17 Apr 2014

It was the Ford Mustang that kicked off the retro-styled muscle car renaissance back in 2005, but it was the Dodge Challenger that served as the movement's poster child, with its unabashedly retro looks. Over the years, though, as the Mustang and the Chevrolet Camaro were freshened and upgraded, the look of the big Dodge has remained largely consistent since its 2008 debut. For 2015, the Challenger has received a big freshening, boasting strongly revised front and rear ends and (finally, finally, finally) a redesigned interior.
Let's talk about that new cabin first. It's basically been plucked directly from the redesigned Charger, and boasts the same seven-inch IP display. The center stack's miserable, last-gen display has been replaced by an expansive, 8.4-inch UConnect system. Material quality should see a solid boost with the new cabin, as well.
The exterior, meanwhile, sees a revised front fascia with LED halo lights, as well as new grille inserts. A functional shaker hood scoop is a must-have extra on the V8 models, while the back of the car is highlighted by a new set of LED taillights that don't use the "Racetrack" design of Dodge's other models.

Watch this Dodge Viper get clawed to death

Tue, 07 Jan 2014

There's a scene in the James Bond movie, Casino Royale, where Daniel Craig's Agent 007 is captured by villain Le Chiffre, played by Mads Mikkelsen. Le Chiffre tortures Bond in a scene that is rather difficult to watch (especially for blokes) and impossible to describe on these digital pages (Google at your own risk). This video is the automotive equivalent of the Casino Royale torture scene.
It shows a Dodge Viper - a late, first-generation GTS judging by the center-exit exhausts - getting assaulted by a giant piece of heavy equipment. The large claw shows no mercy on the V10-powered sports car, rending its muscular curves into pieces and then running it over, just for good measure. It's a painful video to watch (and hear!), made worse because we don't know what the Viper did to deserve such a fate. About a third of the way through the video, the cameraman indicates that the man with the claw is a new operator from Chrysler, and it appears there may be some fire damage, but beyond that, we don't have much to go on.
Scroll down for the video but be warned, it isn't for the faint of heart.

Watch 1,414-hp worth of Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat do stereo burnouts

Tue, 08 Jul 2014

When Dodge announced that the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat would produce 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque from its supercharged 6.2-liter V8, automotive enthusiasts were shocked. The company had promised us that it would be powerful, but no one expected for the muscle car to post even larger numbers than the range-topping Viper.
Car and Driver recently got ahold of two new SRTs and decided that the only proper way to show them off was by lighting up the rears in stereo. With a combined 1,414 horsepower, the pair of them make burnouts from the Hellcat V8 look as easy as breathing. The tires start spinning at the slightest provocation and just don't stop. If you buy one of these, it looks like you and the employees at the local tire store are going to be on a first name basis.
Scroll down to watch these two Hellcats to lay down enough smoke to alert the local hook and ladder trucks.
