2005 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel on 2040-cars
Hereford, Pennsylvania, United States
has 380,000 miles needs ac fixed, front shocks and minor transmission work as it doesn't downshift all the way. drives as is well I just don't push it up hill hard from a dead stop. I put a new transmission output sensor on it and it shifted like a dream for about 60 miles. just needs an auxiliary filter put on and then be driven and filter changed a couple of times or a complete fluid change. then service the trans and put a new transmission output sensor on it and it should be fine. a couple people have told me that it's a simple fix and just needs shift solenoids but I don't think so because if that were the case the new trans output sensor would have made no difference. has a small dent in the back of the cab roof and one in the bed and rust on the right rear wheel well. underside of trans and front differential are damp. has ranch hand bumpers front and rear. used mostly synthetic blend motor oil. runs very well is an auto trans. I have a 99 with a manual trans with 900,000 on it I'm keeping that one. I like manual transmissions. selling because I bought a vw tdi [manual] it will save me more than its cost in fuel. the truck was used as an oversize load pilot car and has done little towing has an led light bar professionally installed the ashtray refuses to stay attached. I don't smoke so I used it for change and to hold my cell phone. I'm the second owner the original owner worked for me and was fanatical about maintenance. only selling now because I bought the tdi due to fuel prices. sadly the auto trans needs to go. will post pictures soon I think the reserve is reasonable and the truck is in decent shape thanks for looking

25,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Durango SUVs recalled over brake feel
Mon, 10 Mar 2014Chrysler has announced that it is recalling over 25,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango SUVs from several markets over concerns about brake feel under hard braking. The affected models are from the 2012 and 2013 model years, although the actual dates of production aren't available. 18,700 are in the US, while 825 are in Canada, 530 are in Mexico and a further 5,200 outside of North America.
According to a statement, Chrysler was informed of the issue by a component supplier for the Ready Alert Braking system, which primes the brakes in anticipation of an emergency stop. A component in the system was restricting the flow of brake fluid too much.
As Chrysler is quick to point out, the way the brakes functioned was in compliance with regulations and there are no reported cases of drivers losing braking power. Instead, the issue rests with what Chrysler calls a pedal feel that "was not consistent with customer expectations." So it would seem Chrysler is being proactive and fixing a problem not because there's a legal issue at work, but simply because it doesn't feel the way the manufacturer wants it to. Well done.
Dodge Scat Packages add Mopar performance upgrades in three stages
Wed, 06 Nov 2013Dodge has revealed what it calls Scat Package Stage Kits that enhance the performance of the Charger and the Challenger equipped with the 5.7-liter V8, and the Dart equipped with the turbocharged 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine. The Scat Packs use Mopar performance parts that also can be bought separately. Most of the upgrades increase engine output, but Dodge somehow manages to not specifically mention the power gains associated with each Scat Pack.
The three Scat Packs offered for the V8-powered cars focus on higher power ratings, and each stage comes complete with a unique engine-management calibration to optimize output. Stage one comes with a cold-air intake and a cat-back exhaust; stage two adds a performance camshaft; and stage three really gives you the goods, adding ported polished cylinder heads and performance headers.
For the Dart, the Scat Packs focus on engine, transmission, chassis and brake upgrades. Stage one will net you a cold-air intake, a short-throw shifter and slotted rotors with performance brake pads; stage two adds a cat-back exhaust system and an engine-management calibration to increase output by taking advantage of premium-octane gasoline; and stage three adds 13-inch vented brake discs up front clamped by four-piston calipers, suspension with adjustable springs and struts and performance front and rear antiroll bars.
Chrysler patents smarter minivan folding seats
Thu, 02 Jan 2014It's frightening to think of how quickly the mice would have overtaken us if we hadn't stayed one step ahead of them with better mousetraps. We'll never have to worry about that in our relentlessly re-engineered world, though. Case in point: Chrysler has been granted a patent by the US Patent and Trademark Office for an improved design of the already wondrous Stow 'n' Go seating found in the automaker's Town and Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans.
Introduced in 2005, the Stow 'n' Go was improved in 2008, and based on the drawings of this third-generation improvement, the new design appears to allow stowage of the second row of seats without having to move the front-row seats forward as much. It look like it also involves fewer operations and moving parts, with a portion of the seatback being incorporated into the flat floor when the seats are stowed, as opposed to having a completely separate cover.
It's possible that the innovation may appear on the next-generation minivans expected in 2015, but Chrysler isn't commenting on the patent.
