The truck overall is in very nice to excellent condition, not smoked in while I owned it. I dont think it was ever smoked in. There are some very minor rock dings on the front of the truck and a few very minor scratches that may possibly buff out. The truck is stock and has no aftermarket modifications, with exception to the factory muffler has been removed and replaced with a free flowing exhaust. Runs and drives like new, I have gotten 18 MPG when on a long trip but 15-16 while regular driving. I believe I am the 3rd owner. I am requiring a $500.00 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit within 24 hours of completion of auction. Final payment to be payed in CASH within 7 days. I am willing to store vehicle for up to 14 days after final payment for buyer to arrange pickup. I will not accept money orders or checks. If you wire transfer funds to pay for vehicle those funds will be held for 48 hours before vehicle is released. If you need vehicle shipped you are responsible for arrangements. Brits recreate iconic Bullitt chase scene
Tue, 13 May 2014Recreating the famous chase scene from Bullitt has become almost an art form in its own right. We've seen it done in a music video, with scale models and even in commercials. There are few films that are as defined by a single scene as the 1968 classic. Even if you don't know a single beat of the plot, the Highland Green Ford Mustang racing a Dodge Charger through the hilly streets of San Francisco is famous. It's so well known that the Silverstone Classic has created a homage to promote its celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Mustang at this year's event in July.
Filmed around the famous UK circuit, the short film generally gets the key points of the scene right. It even has a green Volkswagen Beetle that keeps reappearing, as in the movie. Unfortunately, its Steve McQueen stand-in looks a little too old for the role. While the video shortens the chase considerably, it's still great to see these '60s behemoths leaning and sliding around the track. Chrysler recalls 350k vehicles over ignition switches
Thu, 25 Sep 2014Chrysler has announced a recall covering 349,442 vehicles due to ignition switches that can either become stuck or move without warning. All of the affected vehicles are from the 2008 model year, and were built before May 12, 2008.
The automaker has learned that ignition keys on some vehicles "may not fully return to the 'ON' position after rotation to the 'START' position during engine-startup," the company said in a statement. Additionally, "an ignition key may not fully return to the 'ON' position after rotation to the 'START' position and may inadvertently move through the 'ON' position to 'ACCESSORY' or 'OFF.'"
Chrysler says it is unaware of any related injuries, and notes that while reduced braking, engine or steering power is possible in such instances, the airbags are not affected. The later stands in contrast to General Motors' recent rash of high-profile recalls, and it's an important distinction that Chrysler (understandably) felt necessary to call out in bold print in its press release.
