SPECIAL LIMITED EDITION, 2004 DODGE RAM 1500 SLT, RUMBLE BEE      The Dodge Ram Rumble Bee was a truck inspired by the Dodge Super Bee muscle cars of past years. It bears the bumble bee stripe that is similar to the one that can be found on the old Dodge Super Bee, Charger, and Challenger. Fewer of the latter, but some different versions of the Ram were given aftermarket Rumble Bee modifications by the consumer or dealerships. This was a limited edition run, and was only made available in 2004 and 2005 (Second Swarm). The Dodge Ram Rumble Bee was only offered in a regular cab/short-box 'SLT' version, available with either two or four-wheel drive setup.

The Dodge Ram Rumble Bee was equipped standard with a 5.7 liter, third-generation Hemi V8 engine producing 345 hp and 375 lb·ft of torque. The Dodge Ram Rumble Bee has a 3.92 ratio rear end. The Rumble Bee's Hemi does not produce any more power than the standard production Hemi-equipped trucks.

The Dodge Ram Rumble Bee was only available in two colors: black or yellow. The trucks are often noted by their equipped "Bee Stripe" which was a vertical running stripe behind the rear wheels on the bed sides. Black trucks were equipped with a yellow stripe, while yellow trucks were equipped with a black stripe. The stripe bears a more modernized "Scat Pack Bee" logo that can be found on the past Dodge Super Bee cars.

The appearance package gave the consumer equipment also available on the "Sport" trucks such as painted bumpers, 20" chrome-clad aluminum wheels, and bright grille inserts. In addition, the package also included a brushed aluminum fuel door, chrome exhaust tip, lower rocker panel fascia or "ground effects", and a hood scoop. The hood scoop was non-functional.

The interior of the Rumble bee shares equipment similar to that of the SLT-optioned trucks with some extras. The special center dash bezel was painted a gloss yellow with a dash plaque indicating its limited edition production number. The premium door panels sported special gloss yellow inserts and "bee" decals on them. All Rumble Bee's came with cloth seats, which could be upgraded to leather upon customer demand.

2013 Dodge Dart GT offers subtle menace in compact form

Mon, 14 Jan 2013

Dodge has already shared all of the relevant information about its all-new 2013 Dart GT, but it wasn't until now that we've seen the car, live and in person. The slightly meaner front fascia and bigger wheels look great on the Dodge, and the red-on-black perforated seats are sporting in an aftermarket sort of way.
To recap: The Dart GT also gets a bit more power, using a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine to make 184 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque. A starting price of $20,995 will get you LED taillights, dual exhaust, an 8.4-inch touchscreen and a 7.0-inch TFT display.
Feel free to re-acquaint yourselves with the full Dodge Dart GT information in the press release below, or have a leisurely browse through our gallery of live images.

Mopar rolls out new Scat Packages for Dodge Challenger, Charger and Dart

Tue, 05 Nov 2013

Dodge buyers looking for that extra performance edge, take note: Mopar is bringing back the Scat Pack. Announced at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas today, the new Scat Packages will be available in three stages for the Challenger, Charger and Dart starting next spring.
Upgrades for the Charger and Challenger equipped with the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 engine include a
new cold-air intake and cat-back exhaust, as well as a remapped ECU. Upgrade to the Scat Package 2 and you get a new camshaft, and the Scat Package 3 tosses in ported and polished heads and hi-flow headers. Upgrades for the Dart GT with the smaller 2.4-liter, four-cylinder Tigershark engine with six-speed manual transmission start with a cold-air intake, short-throw shifter and upgraded brakes. The second stage kicks in a remapped ECU and cat-back exhaust, while the Scat Package 3 for the Dart gives you even bigger brakes, an adjustable suspension and sway bars front and rear.

25,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Durango SUVs recalled over brake feel

Mon, 10 Mar 2014

Chrysler has announced that it is recalling over 25,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango SUVs from several markets over concerns about brake feel under hard braking. The affected models are from the 2012 and 2013 model years, although the actual dates of production aren't available. 18,700 are in the US, while 825 are in Canada, 530 are in Mexico and a further 5,200 outside of North America.
According to a statement, Chrysler was informed of the issue by a component supplier for the Ready Alert Braking system, which primes the brakes in anticipation of an emergency stop. A component in the system was restricting the flow of brake fluid too much.
As Chrysler is quick to point out, the way the brakes functioned was in compliance with regulations and there are no reported cases of drivers losing braking power. Instead, the issue rests with what Chrysler calls a pedal feel that "was not consistent with customer expectations." So it would seem Chrysler is being proactive and fixing a problem not because there's a legal issue at work, but simply because it doesn't feel the way the manufacturer wants it to. Well done.
