Up for auction is a beautiful black 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4. This truck was born at the Dodge City Plant in Warren, MI but has spent it's entire life in the mild Northern California region. This rugged Dodge is equipped with the powerful 5.9 Liter Magnum and is great for towing and even decent on gas. 2001 was the last year of this body style, being the last year it is equipped with all the upgraded features like four wheels disk brakes, limited slip differential, heavy duty components, skid plates, tow hooks, fog lamps, 4.10 rear end. The ram hit the scene in 1994 and was an instant classic, stylish powerful, reliable, what more could you want from a truck. This truck is a wonderful example of what a well maintained 16 year old Dodge Ram should look like and will last for many years to come.
DON'T MISS OUT ON THIS VERY LOW RESERVE AUCTION!!!!!

Cosmetically this Ram is in amazing condition for a 16 year old full size truck. The beautiful black paint accented with silver appears to be in original condition. There are no major dents or scratches, the only flaw is a minor ding on the right front fender and a very small spot where clear coat is peeling on the hood and roof. Otherwise the paint is in exceptional condition and really makes this Dodge look sharp. All the chrome and aluminum is in great shape too. no pitting or weathering. The windows are great except for one little crack on the right side of the windshield. Compared to the majority of used full sized trucks out there, this Ram is in exceptional shape  cosmetically it has been maintained and taken care of through it's life.

Interior of this truck is in great original condition. It is equipped with the SLT Laramie package which gives this Ram a little nicer interior. The seats are in great shape the only flaw is a small rip on the drivers side. Otherwise there is no stains or rips in the seat. It seats 6 nicely with plenty of room in the back seat. The carpet is in good shape and the truck comes with all weather Dodge Ram mats. The dash is also in great shape, there is some sun cracking at the top very typical of these trucks otherwise it is flawless. The real flaw is the shifter broke off, essentially it is a cheap fix and in NO way does it inhibit the truck from shifting properly or going into overdrive. It is merely an annoyance that could be fixed cheap if desired. The truck is also equipped with an aftermarket Pioneer stereo with a remote and is wired for an amp as well as subs. Power windows and door locks work, AC and heater work, heater core will need a recharge. In all the interior is in Great original condition.

Mechanically this truck matches the way it looks. It has been well maintained and the mechanical condition shows. There is no issues with the truck as far as running and driving. A notorious problem with these trucks are their rear ends and transmissions which go bad. This truck has had both replaced 2,000 miles ago and is having no issues. It shifts with ease in all gears. The 5.9 is a great workhorse of an engine very powerful and pretty decent on gas for the vehicle. It brakes good without any disruption. There are no clunking or rattling sounds coming from the truck, I have not found any leaks as well. It does have a single flowmaster muffler that gives the 5.9 a little extra grunt but nothing too obnoxious.

Diesel Power finds the ultimate modified oil-burner

Sat, 24 Aug 2013

For nine years, Diesel Power magazine has run the Diesel Power Challenge, this year's grindfest being "a week-long torture test that features seven events, nine trucks, 8,000 horsepower, and nearly 15,000 pound-feet of torque." The road to being crowned "the most powerful truck" starts with a dyno run, and then continues through the completion of a CDL-style obstacle course, an eighth-of-a-mile drag race while towing a 10,000-pound trailer, a quarter-mile drag race without a trailer, a fuel economy test in the mountains and finally a sled-pulling test through a 300-foot-long packed-mud pit.
What kind of trucks get into such a fight? Last year's winner, for instance - who upgraded his truck this year to prove he didn't "luck into the win" - drives a 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty with a 6.4-liter Power Stroke V8 upgraded with a custom intake, Elite Diesel triple turbos and a two-stage nitrous system. Another competitor has a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 powered by a 5.9-liter Cummins inline-six, upgraded with Garrett turbos, dual-stage nitrous, a seven-inch exhaust stack and twin fans built into the bed to cool the Sun Coast Omega transmission. The numbers on that truck: 1,255 horsepower, and 2,063 pound-feet of torque at the wheels. Naturally, as the image above might suggest, things don't always end well.
You'll find all five videos covering this years challenge below. A scene in the dyno video sums it all up perfectly: a competitor leaves his nitrous on too long and the crew is treated to some ominous poppings, he leans out the window, throws both hands up and shouts, "Amer'ca!"

Ron Burgundy calls Durango a 'terrible car,' yet his ads help sales climb by 59% [w/videos]

Fri, 22 Nov 2013

Ron Burgundy was put on this planet to do one thing: to read the news. If that ever falls through, though, the womanizing, scotch-drinking anchorman could have a great career just as a Dodge salesman. Bloomberg points out that sales of the 2014 Dodge Durango have rocketed up 59 percent in the first month of Chrysler's funny new ad campaign (which began in early October). But then again, the entire year has been strong for the big SUV, with year-over-year sales increases in the double and even triple digit percentages - including an increase of 117 percent in August.
Of course, the Durango has also received a wealth of new content and a freshened look for 2014 in addition to the Burgundy campaign, and that has to be helping close sales, too. Whether or not the spots themselves are leading to more sales may be a moot point, since they are definitely getting plenty of attention. Almost two months into the marketing tie-up between Dodge and the movie Anchorman 2, Dodge's YouTube videos have received well over seven million views. More than just YouTube shorts and television commercials, the Durango has even received late-night attention, including when Will Ferrell showed up in character as Ron Burgundy on Conan earlier this week.
In the interview, he calls the Durango a "terrible car" that "cracked in half," a joke that probably had Dodge ad execs squirming uncomfortably in their Barcaloungers. Scroll down to watch the Conan interview as well as some of our favorite Burgundy-pitched Durango ads. And there's still plenty of time to "touch" Ron to win a new Durango.

2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat has 707 glorious horsepower [w/video]

Tue, 01 Jul 2014

Hold onto your butts. "600-plus horsepower" is what we were told to expect from the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT with its 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat V8 engine. But as we've just learned, those were incredibly conservative numbers. Dodge has officially announced that the range-topping Challenger will hit the asphalt with 707 - seven hundred and seven - horsepower, making it the "most powerful muscle car ever."
Of course, 707 hp is only part of the story, as the Hellcat has also been confirmed to produce 650 pound-feet of torque. All that power will run exclusively to the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission that differs from other Challengers. The new gearbox, 8HP90 (rather than the 8HP70) is "upgraded to handle the extra power and torque," says Dan Reid, SRT's manager of product design and motorsports.
We certainly hope you're prepared to spend a ton of money replacing tires.
