Up for sale is a lifted 4x4 Ram Charger.  I traded a buddy for this truck and now its time to say goodbye to it.  Its a cool little truck but I'm not a fan of the way it is lifted or the steering.

The bad things about this truck:
The lift: its all blocks.  I am not a fan.  I prefer to lift with springs.  The lift is fairly new and has new shocks
The motor: Throws a oil low light every now and then.  Im told its prolly just a sensor, but I dont trust it.
The wheels: 16.5".  Its an odd size to have to replace tires.  The tires are still good but they wont be forever.
The radio: Doesnt work right.  I was told it came out of a minivan.  Its still a Chrysler head unit so Im sure its still junk.
The Paint:  Needs a repaint to be pretty
The Drivers Door:  I included pics of the problem.  It needs to be rehung, but is very functional.

The good things about the truck:
The lift: Its tall.  Ive had this truck through holes that swallowed trucks on 40" tires.  Its great.
The motor: Its a 318.  Rock solid and cheap to rebuild
The interior: Leather power seats. The rear seat tumbles forward for more space.  There is a roof vent
The Transmission:  Seems rock soid,.  Havent had a hard shift or any slipping
The size:  The interior of this truck is the size of a NYC apartment.  The hatch space alone is big enough that my toddler played in just that section for most of a day with no complaints
The 4x4:  You can shift on the fly with this truck with no problem.
The electrical:  Seems to be solid

Motorweek goes retro with '80s hot hatch shootout

Mon, 03 Nov 2014

Motorweek's decades of history on television make it the perfect medium to look back into the automotive past and see how things are different now. It recently added old road test videos to its YouTube channel of the Acura NSX and Toyota Supra, as well as the Ferrari F40. For one of its newest flashback clips, Motorweek has exhumed an affordable five-car challenge of 1986's premiere hot hatches.
By today's standards, this is an eclectic field that features fondly remembered classics like the Volkswagen GTI 16-valve and Acura Integra. However, it also throws in some nearly forgotten contenders like the Dodge Colt Turbo and Ford Escort GT. The angular Toyota Corolla FX16 GT-S rounds out the group.
It's fascinating to watch Motorweek run the quintet through the slalom, down the drag strip and on various roads. What's most striking in this clip is the difference in the definition of a performance car between then and now. With its 16-valve, 1.8-liter four-cylinder, the GTI is the burliest of the contenders with 123 horsepower, but it still takes 8.8 seconds to reach 60 miles per hour. By today's standards, that would make it a plain-jane economy car, and not even a particularly quick one.

Mopar rolls out new Scat Packages for Dodge Challenger, Charger and Dart

Tue, 05 Nov 2013

Dodge buyers looking for that extra performance edge, take note: Mopar is bringing back the Scat Pack. Announced at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas today, the new Scat Packages will be available in three stages for the Challenger, Charger and Dart starting next spring.
Upgrades for the Charger and Challenger equipped with the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 engine include a
new cold-air intake and cat-back exhaust, as well as a remapped ECU. Upgrade to the Scat Package 2 and you get a new camshaft, and the Scat Package 3 tosses in ported and polished heads and hi-flow headers. Upgrades for the Dart GT with the smaller 2.4-liter, four-cylinder Tigershark engine with six-speed manual transmission start with a cold-air intake, short-throw shifter and upgraded brakes. The second stage kicks in a remapped ECU and cat-back exhaust, while the Scat Package 3 for the Dart gives you even bigger brakes, an adjustable suspension and sway bars front and rear.

2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat

Wed, 29 Oct 2014

Including all-wheel-drive models, there are ten versions of the 2015 Dodge Charger. The tenth variant - better described as the ten-tenths variant and the topmost model - is this Charger SRT Hellcat.
Superficially, you already know what it is: take the massively powerful Hellcat engine that's Frankensteined into the Dodge Challenger and stitch it into the recently facelifted Charger sedan.
Oh, but that would be superficial knowledge indeed. Russ Ruedisueli, vehicle line executive and head engineer for SRT, claims the Charger Hellcat is, "The industry's most irreverent four-door supercar." We looked up the word "irreverent" in the Oxford dictionaries, and it turns out the word doesn't mean "707 horsepower," nor "650 pound-feet of torque" nor "3.7-second 0-60 time, and seats five adults." It does mean, "Showing a lack of respect for people or things that are generally taken seriously."
