1978 Dodge Little Red Express on 2040-cars

Up for auction is my 1978 Dodge Lil Red Express.  I absolutely love this truck I have owned it and driven it almost daily for the last year and was planning on keeping it for a very long time, but I am planning on moving and cannot take her with me.

She is a numbers correct 1978 Lil Red Express, 5th digit S in vin, bossing under passenger exhaust manifold is blank, and the front driver side bossing has the 8w which denots it as a pursuit 360 made in the windsor plant in 78 which is correct for the LRE.  It does have a Holley 650 CFM carb which is non original but the 850 Thermo quads can be found to make it correct.

The truck runs, sounds, and drives amazing Everything except the radio and the gas gauge work, the dash lights are temperamental but work most of the time.  Heater wipers lights are all good.  It is great as a fun daily driver.

The rims are in pretty good shape could use a rechroming.  The fact that it still has the correct rims is amazing alone.

The floors and most of the body is solid.  There is rot in the driver rocker and a few spots starting on the lower parts of the fenders which is common.  There is rust in the upper front portion of the cab but the pinch weld for the windshield was replaced last year along with the windshield.

Included with the truck is a replacement driver rocker and 3 doors with glass.

It is eligible for QQ tags in NJ but It was my daily driver so I put regular plates on it.  As a sentiment to how well it runs it has a good inspection sticker untill 2015

The title is clean and in my name from new jersey.  If you have any questions please call me at 609 444 8638 or send me a message.

Thank you for looking and good luck.
  Greg

2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat revealed [UPDATE]

Wed, 13 Aug 2014

Almost immediately after we drove the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, we began wondering: what's next? Pumping 707 horsepower into the Challenger seemed so crazy - and so intoxicating - we just assumed that Dodge would try that trick again.
Rumors swirled about a Charger Hellcat. Frankly it makes even more sense than the Challenger version. The Charger is a bigger car, and Dodge has never been shy about dropping monster engines under its hood. Hell (cat), we've seen Charger mules running around town that appeared to be the super sedan.
And finally, it's here. The 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat was revealed today at a preview event near Detroit, and it will be a centerpiece of the Chrysler display this weekend at the Woodward Dream Cruise.

Dodge Scat Packages add Mopar performance upgrades in three stages

Wed, 06 Nov 2013

Dodge has revealed what it calls Scat Package Stage Kits that enhance the performance of the Charger and the Challenger equipped with the 5.7-liter V8, and the Dart equipped with the turbocharged 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine. The Scat Packs use Mopar performance parts that also can be bought separately. Most of the upgrades increase engine output, but Dodge somehow manages to not specifically mention the power gains associated with each Scat Pack.
The three Scat Packs offered for the V8-powered cars focus on higher power ratings, and each stage comes complete with a unique engine-management calibration to optimize output. Stage one comes with a cold-air intake and a cat-back exhaust; stage two adds a performance camshaft; and stage three really gives you the goods, adding ported polished cylinder heads and performance headers.
For the Dart, the Scat Packs focus on engine, transmission, chassis and brake upgrades. Stage one will net you a cold-air intake, a short-throw shifter and slotted rotors with performance brake pads; stage two adds a cat-back exhaust system and an engine-management calibration to increase output by taking advantage of premium-octane gasoline; and stage three adds 13-inch vented brake discs up front clamped by four-piston calipers, suspension with adjustable springs and struts and performance front and rear antiroll bars.

Chrysler recalls AWD 300, Charger, Ram 1500 over ZF transmission

Tue, 24 Dec 2013

What do the Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger and Ram 1500 all have in common? Yes, they're all Chrysler products, and two of them are based on the same platform. And we're sure you could find more similarities between them all, but the common trait we're looking at here is that, while they all come standard in rear-drive form, they're also available with all-wheel drive. And it's the transmission in those models that's the subject of the latest recall notice issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The output shaft on the eight-speed automatic transmission supplied by ZF to Chrysler for the AWD versions of the 300, Charger and Ram 1500 is apparently prone to fracture. That in the end could leave the vehicle without power and could, according to the NHTSA investigation, increase the chance of a crash. The vehicle could also roll away if even if left in Park without the handbrake applied.
That's why Chrysler is calling in 4,194 examples of those three models from the 2013 model year. Dealers will be responsible for inspecting the transmissions and, where necessary, replace the entire unit. See the full recall notice below for all the details.
