This is an original 1977 D100 shortbed 2wd 1/2 ton with a factory 440 4bbl.

The original colors are Metallic Black

with a Cashmere Tan center band. The truck runs and yard drives but needs total

restoration. It is sold AS IS and must be picked up in Minden Nevada 89423.

Please ask questions before bidding. I have additional pictures if you send your email.

The title is from the previous owner and is signed off. This is fine for most states

but will not work for Canada and other countries. Please check your local

requirements for transfer, smog requirements, and anything else that might

be relevant.

There were several magazine articles done in 77 about a 440 shorty

that was in the reverse colors. The reviews were generally that it reminded

the testers of the early Chargers when they still had some "Charge". One driver

reported burying the speedo on a long straight stretch. Check out a copy

of Pickup Van and 4wd March 1977. They seemed to have a pretty good time with

that truck.

According to the numbers guru and his lil white book, in 1978 the production

for 1/2 ton 2wd with a 440 motor was only 74 units.

There is no known production figure for 77 440s.

If anybody has the info, please send me an email.

More 78s have surfaced than 77s. This is a 1977.

It has it's original door vin tag, and a clear California title

from the previous owner. It was parked for a long time.

The original primary color is Sunfire Metallic Black with

a Cashmere Tan center band. Most of the paint is original,

with what looks like some spot painted areas of the tan.

The interior is Adventurer level trim in Saddle. It has Air Conditioning,

Aux fuel tank, Cargo light, Volt Vac gauges and the previous owner was

sure the Chrysler road wheels were original. They were optional.

CONDITION,

Total miles unknown, it shows 40,000 maybe 140K? or?

It runs and drives but needs complete restoration. It has leaking

headers and exhaust, The engine starts and runs out well and has oil pressure

(40 at hot idle) but may have an intake leak, and other problems causing

a rough uneven idle. The tranny shifts and the brakes work.

Not working: Tail lights, gauges, speedo, windows, AC, wipers,

It is missing: Some of the AC components, evap etc. Most of the smog

parts, does not have the original Carb. The tires are junk. It is missing the frame

gas tank and has only the cab tank which it runs off. It is also missing

whatever else is not shown in the pictures. The windshield is cracked.

The interior has overall wear and tear and requires restoration.

The carpet was removed (and thrown away) to inspect the floors.

The body and frame: the floor pans have some heavy scale rust

as does the floor of the bed, but it all seems solid. The only rust thru

that I found was in the radiator core support

below the battery from the acid. Though the body has some small

dents including the rockers, and the front fenders, it is overall

a very straight original truck from a dry climate. The hood has some small

holes drilled on the sides of the banks, probably 440 emblems.

The bed had a vinyl cover and still has the snaps (unfortunately)

The frame has minor surface rust and was notched (cut) in several spots

on the driver's side for header clearance. The roof has an after market skylight.

The rear end is a corporate 9.25.

The front has a factory sway bar. It rides very stiff.

I have only driven it around the block and it is amazingly quick.

The truck is sold AS IS must be paid for in full within 3 days of auction

close, and must be picked up in Minden Nevada 89423 within 30 days.

It should be trailered.

Dodge to resurrect Scat Pack?

Fri, 27 Sep 2013

Before social media ever existed, if automotive enthusiasts wanted to be noticed or recognize other fans, they joined a car club. For Dodge muscle car lovers from 1968 through 1971, that group was known as the Scat Pack. Just like the Charger, Challenger and Dart nameplates, it looks like the Scat Pack could be getting a resurrection by Chrysler.
Automotive News is reporting that Chrysler recently renewed its trademark on the Scat Pack name, and while this is in no way a guarantee that the name will return, AN talked to Tim Kuniskis, Dodge President and CEO, who stoked the fire a little more. In the article, Kuniskis said that the name is "a very important part of our history" and added that "we like the whole idea of having a Scat Pack of cars." Scat Pack models were identified by their bumblebee stripes and helmet-wearing bumblebee logo, and the idea of a modern Scat Pack doesn't seem all that outlandish in light of recent vehicles like the Charger SRT Super Bee and the Ram 1500 Rumble Bee Concept.
What do you think, is this a cool idea, or is it just an unwelcome bit of nostalgia? Have you say in Comments.

2014 Dodge Durango priced from $29,795*

Wed, 14 Aug 2013

With all the new updates the Dodge Durango is getting for 2014, one thing that Dodge isn't changing on its big SUV is the starting price. Just like the current model year, the 2014 Dodge Durango will be priced from $29,795 (*not including $995 for destination).
This price is for the base SXT model, but the 2014 Durango is also offered in a new Limited trim level (replacing the Crew) as well as the sporty R/T and the luxurious Citadel. The Durango Limited starts at $35,995 (an increase of $800 over the 2013 Crew), while the R/T now starts at $38,995 (up $2,500). The top-of-the-line Durango Citadel will start at $40,995 - an increase of $1,000.
The many improvements made to the 2014 Durango include revised exterior styling, added in-cabin tech and an eight-speed automatic transmission (expected to return better fuel economy). Dodge is saying that the V6 models will get 25 miles per gallon on the highway while V8 models are expected to score 23-mpg highway, but there are no official EPA numbers to report yet. Scroll down for the full press release.

40+ cars that barely avoid the gas guzzler tax

Thu, 24 Jul 2014

The Gas Guzzler schedule, with mpg ratings and charges that haven't changed since 1991, lays out which fuel-swillers owe what to Uncle Sam.
I started thinking about the "Gas Guzzler Tax" - considerably less well known as The Energy Tax Act of 1978 - when I was driving Dodge's new Challenger SRT Hellcat last week. Unsurprisingly for a car that can burn 1.5 gallons of gas per minute at max tilt, theoretically able to empty a full tank of premium in about 13 minutes, the Hellcat will be subject to the Gas Guzzler Tax schedule when it goes on sale.
