Selling a 1999 Dodge Neon w/clear title and CT tags located in Manchester, CT. We own two Dodge Neon's, this one and a 1998 and no longer need both. The best features of the car are that she still runs very well, the battery is only a couple months old, the working cruise control, brakes work as they should, the overall cleanliness and condition inside and out, spare tire and tool kit for changing tires, the fold down back seat, and the excellent gas mileage.

We are 100% positive feedback sellers and believe if full disclosure.

The known issues of the Neon are as follows; both the radio and dashboard gauges work intermittently (likely some sort of loose electrical connection somewhere), there is a small impact spot behind the passenger door (see photos), the front windshield is cracked (see photos), the power locks don't work (you have to manually lock and unlock, is this related to the other electrical issue?), the passenger window only retracts 1/4 of the way, the sun roof does not open (again, all electrical issues are probably related), the check engine light is on (Pep Boys has diagnosed this as an O2 sensor or EGR valve, it is not an engine problem), and when you tightly turn the car the power steering squeals.

All the issues are not related to the engine and driving performance, which is key. This would be a great local car to go to and from work, college, church, grocery store, etc. If you're looking for dependability without bells and whistles this car can provide you another decade worth of service. The car is absolutely available for a test drive here locally in Manchester, CT.

Upon sale, $250 is due within 48 hours, per eBay policy. The balance can be paid in cash, cashiers check made out to "Jack Ware," or you may go ahead and pay the full amount via PayPal all at once. Please ask any questions you might have. The car is priced at a low opening bid to encourage active bidding. We're content to let the market decide the value.

Chrysler patents smarter minivan folding seats

Thu, 02 Jan 2014

It's frightening to think of how quickly the mice would have overtaken us if we hadn't stayed one step ahead of them with better mousetraps. We'll never have to worry about that in our relentlessly re-engineered world, though. Case in point: Chrysler has been granted a patent by the US Patent and Trademark Office for an improved design of the already wondrous Stow 'n' Go seating found in the automaker's Town and Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans.
Introduced in 2005, the Stow 'n' Go was improved in 2008, and based on the drawings of this third-generation improvement, the new design appears to allow stowage of the second row of seats without having to move the front-row seats forward as much. It look like it also involves fewer operations and moving parts, with a portion of the seatback being incorporated into the flat floor when the seats are stowed, as opposed to having a completely separate cover.
It's possible that the innovation may appear on the next-generation minivans expected in 2015, but Chrysler isn't commenting on the patent.

2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat revving is sonic bacon

Fri, 23 May 2014

This is the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, and we're sure that by now, you know its stats, including over 600 horsepower from its 6.2-liter, supercharged V8. What, pray tell, does that blown engine sound like, though?
At least judging on the sonic strength of this video, it's very, very dirty. Honestly, it sounds unlike anything that's come out of the Chrysler Group in a long time, if ever. It's loud, almost brutally so, with a bark that few road-going V8s can match.
Of course, you should be the final judge here. Take a look and a listen at the two videos below, one of which comes from our friends at Cars.com that provides a nice look under the hood, and then let us know what you think of the Hellcat's singing voice in Comments.

I sold my Viper, but the memories I'll keep

Thu, 30 May 2013

The following is written by auto industry veteran Tow Kowaleski. The words are his own, but the memories now belong to everyone thanks to his willingness to share. If you're an industry veteran with a story to share, contact us at tipsATautoblogDOTcom.
It became the flame that started the fire of belief in the next life of Chrysler.
I just sold a car. Nothing new. Millions do it every day. But my car was a 1995 Dodge Viper, so maybe it was a bit more unique since just 12,000 were built. And like others selling a car that's been a part of the family for close to 20 years, this was a confluence of emotions for me. I was sad to see it go, but happy to have the cash and one less big, shiny, under-utilized object in my life.
