VERY BEAUTIFUL, NICELY DONE 1968 DODGE DART 270 WITH GT INTERIOR. 360 WITH 340 HEADS, COMPETITION CAM, 485 LIFT, PROFESSIONALLY BUILT ENGINE. 4 SPEED, 8 3/4 REAR END WITH 4/10 GEARS, WITH FRONT DISK BRAKES. NEVER WINTER DRIVEN, NOR DRIVEN IN THE RAIN. THIS CAR IS AS NICE ON TOP AS IT IS UNDERNEATH. IT IS VERY TASTEFULLY DONE. I TRIED TO KEEP THE RETRO STOCK LOOK AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE, INCLUDING ORIGINAL WHEELS, WITH DOG DISH HUBCAPS. I TOOK AS MANY PICTURES AS POSSIBLE TO SHOW YOU HOW NICE THIS CAR IS. THIS CAR IS AN OLDER RESTORATION AND WAS "ROTISSERIE" DONE AND SAND-BLASTED. THE PAINT IS STARTING TO LOOK A LITTLE AGED, BUT STILL PRESENTS WELL. THERE ARE 2 SMALL RUST SPOTS BY THE TRUNK HINGES, BUT REALLY NO BIG DEAL. THIS CAR IS READY TO GO, AND ONLY ONCE I TRIED IT AT THE DRAG STRIP. THE CAR WILL TURN EASY 12 SECONDS WITH STREET TIRES, BUT I NEVER ABUSED THE CAR. VERY DRIVER FRIENDLY VEHICLE, NEVER OVERHEATS IN TRAFFIC, STARTS AND RUNS RIGHT AWAY. I LOVE THIS CAR AND REALLY SORRY TO SEE IT GO. PRESENTLY IN A DIVORCE SITUATION, HAVE TO SELL MY BABY. Hero gets his truck back better than new thanks to community support [w/video]

Sun, 29 Jun 2014

You ever hear a story and start cringing before you hear the end because you know how it's going to turn out? That could very well have been the case with the story from a few weeks ago in West Valley City, Utah, where a 14-year-old kid stole his grandfather's Hyundai Veloster and took it for a joyride - through a park full of children. But instead it turned into a heart-warming tale of heroism and a community banding together to do what's right... and then some.
Bryson Rowley was that hero who identified the danger and, rather than sit idly by and watch the joyrider potentially run over a child, got into his truck and drove it into the menacing runaway hatchback. The collision caused some $7,500 to his 2008 Dodge Ram 2500, but instead of getting stuck with the bill - one which his insurance may very well have refused to pay since the crash was, technically speaking, intentional - his community pitched in a helping hand.
Bryan Ellison, who owns West Valley Carstar with his brother, saw the news on television and wanted to help. So he brought Rowley a rental car, picked up his truck and brought it back to his auto repair shop. People from around the community donated parts, and when all was said and done, some $15,000 of work and upgrades were performed on the Ram that was returned to an overwhelmed Bryson Rowley better than new. Watch the video below for the full story.

Chevy Corvette Stingray defeating rivals where it matters most

Wed, 16 Jul 2014

Everything is coming up roses for the award-winning Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, as new data from the North American Dealers Association dissected by GM Authority reveals that America's sports car is handily outselling two of its more expensive rivals.
Through June of 2014, the NADA notes that the Corvette has rung up 17,744 sales, handily besting the Porsche 911 and positively spanking the SRT Viper. Of course, you're sitting there thinking, "Corvette is outselling the much more expensive Porsche and Viper. Sky blue, water wet." But what's impressive here is just how thoroughly the Chevrolet is beating its two rivals, with this data serving as a testament to just how popular the seventh-generation sports car has become.
So far this year, Porsche has managed to move 5,169 911s, according to NADA. Considering that the base model starts at nearly $15,000 more than the most heavily optioned Stingray, and that Porsche owners have a vast, expensive options catalogue to select from, Stuttgart's sales are still plenty impressive in relation to the nearly 18,000 Corvettes sold.

I sold my Viper, but the memories I'll keep

Thu, 30 May 2013

The following is written by auto industry veteran Tow Kowaleski. The words are his own, but the memories now belong to everyone thanks to his willingness to share. If you're an industry veteran with a story to share, contact us at tipsATautoblogDOTcom.
It became the flame that started the fire of belief in the next life of Chrysler.
I just sold a car. Nothing new. Millions do it every day. But my car was a 1995 Dodge Viper, so maybe it was a bit more unique since just 12,000 were built. And like others selling a car that's been a part of the family for close to 20 years, this was a confluence of emotions for me. I was sad to see it go, but happy to have the cash and one less big, shiny, under-utilized object in my life.
