2007 DODGE DAKOTA, SELLING FOR A FRIEND. ITS AT AN INTERIOR AREA OF OCALA, FLORIDA KNOWN FOR ITS RUST FREE CARS, MUCH LIKE THE WESTERN CARS AND THIS ONE HAS NO RUST FOUND ANYWHERE. THE PAINT AS WELL AS THE HEAD LIGHTS ARE VERY NICE, NO YELLOWED HEAD LIGHTS. IT HAS BEEN MAINTAINED AS WELL AS ANY CAR OR TRUCK CAN BE, NEVER MISSING A SCHEDUALED OIL CHANGE, ETC. WHEN MY FRIEND ASKED ME TO SELL IT FOR HIM ON EBAY. I TOLD HIM I WOULD HAVE TO DO AN INSPECTION THE TRUCK FIRST TO SEE IF IT WAS UP TO MY STANDARDS. I COULD'NT BELIEVE THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT OR THE UNDER SIDE OF THE TRUCK, WOW THEY WEAR VERTUALY LIKE A BRAND NEW TRUCK, SEE THE PICTURES, YOU'LL SEE WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. THE TIRES WEAR NOT TO MY STANDARDS SO HE PURCHASED ALL FOUR NEW TIRES, THAT WAS THE DEAL, AS I ALWAYS STRIVE FOR A GOOD FEED BACKS, FROM BUYERS. THE TIRES ON THE TRUCK ARE DAKOTA H/T 225 X 70 X 16. THEY ARE 100% TREADWEAR AND DO NOT HAVE ANY MORE THEN 1/2 MILE ON ALL 4, HAS ALL THE NEW NUBS STILL THERE, BRAND NEW TIRES! THE ENGINE DOSE NOT LEAK ANY FLUIDS, NOR DOSE THE TRANSMISSION. LOOK CLOSELY AT THE ENGINE PICTURES "THIS GUY WAS A MAINTANANCE NUTCASE" YOU CAN EAT OFF OF THIS ENGINE! IT DRIVES VERY NICE, AND GETS GREAT FUEL MILAGE, THESE TRUCKS ARE KNOWN FOR GREAT RELIABILITY AND LONG MILES. I BELIEVE THAT THE WAY ITS BEEN MAINTAINED THAT IT SHOULD BE GOOD FOR ANOTHER 100K MILES EASLY. THE BODY HAS A COUPLE OF, I GUESS YOU WOULD CALL THEM HIP DENTS, BUT YOU CANT SEE THEM ULESS YOU ARE LOOKING VERY HARD. HAS A BED LINNER, LOOKS AS IF IT HAS BEEN USED, BUT THATS WHAT THEY ARE THERE FOR TO PROTECT THE BED. YOU CAN BUY THEM FOR ABOUT 40.00 HERE AT THE USED CAR YARDS. IF THATS A DEAL BREAKER FOR YOU I CAN MOSTLIKELY FIND ONE AND INSTALL IT FOR YOU. IT HAD BEEN SMOKED IN THREE YEARS AGO, AND HAS A COULPE OF SMALL BURN MARKS IN THE SEATS BUT AGAIN YOU HAVE TO LOOK HARD TO SEE THEM. BEING THREE YEARS AGO, THE TRUCK HAS NO ODERS OF SMOKE ANY LONGER. IT HAS A NICE SOUND SYSTEM, WITH A FACTORY C.D. PLAYER. THE A/C IS ARTIC COLD, AND GETS COLD IN A HURRY, NEVER HAS BEEN RESERVICED, SO NO LEAKS. YOU FLY IN, BUY THIS TRUCK, AND DRIVE IT HOME ANY WHERE YOU WANT. ITS JUST THAT NICE. South Dakota dealer filled to brim with classic cars
Wed, 12 Mar 2014Other than the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and Mount Rushmore, South Dakota isn't generally a hot topic, but that just means that cool stuff can hide in the open waiting to be discovered. Case in point: the classic car dealer Frankman Motor Company that operates three locations in Sioux Falls, SD.
Unearthed by the folks at Bring a Trailer, Frankman is a treasure trove of vintage, American iron. Their collection is full of the type of vehicles your irresponsible but cool uncle would show up with when you were a kid. Even better, these cars are priced at a level a working man can afford.
If you are lusting about a cruiser then Frankman has a 1956 Cadillac Deville Hard Top Sedan (pictured right) with 82,896 miles for $12,975. It's painted a color called Cascade Grey, but looks more like a pastel purple in pictures. While it needs some repairs to the accessories, the Caddy runs and drives, which is all you really need.
Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat gets 22 mpg
Thu, 18 Sep 2014With its crazy 707 horsepower on tap and roughly $60,000 starting price, the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat has been one of the most talked about cars of the summer, maybe even the year. However, there's always been one lingering question about the behemoth that Dodge has waited to answer until now - its fuel economy. The EPA ratings for the muscle car are finally out, and the numbers are actually pretty impressive for a vehicle with this much power.
A 2015 Challenger Hellcat with the eight-speed automatic is rated at 22 miles per gallon highway, 13 mpg city and 16 mpg combined. Opting for the six-speed manual drops those figures to 21 mpg highway, 13 mpg city and 16 mpg combined.
"As the fastest muscle car ever, the Challenger Hellcat can run 10-second ETs [elapsed times] at the track, and then get 22 miles per gallon on the drive home. With a starting price of $59,995, there's nothing else that even comes close," said Dodge and SRT President Tim Kuniskis in the company's release.
1979 Dodge Li'l Red Express in Generation Gap showdown with 1933 Ford Pickup
Fri, 18 Jul 2014Auto enthusiasts love a good debate, whether it's Mustang versus Camaro or Ferrari against Lamborghini. But how about a battle between two very different vintages of classic pickup trucks? In this case, the fight is between a 1979 Dodge Li'l Red Express and a 1933 Ford Model 46 truck with a flathead V8.
The shootout comes courtesy of the internet series Generation Gap, and its concept is super-simple. One guy prefers classics, and the other likes newer rides. They choose a category, pick two vehicles and put them head to head. In this case, neither is exactly modern, though. The Ford is more than old enough to receive Social Security checks, and the Dodge is hardly a young whippersnapper.
Other than both being pickups, these two models were made to serve very different functions. The Li'l Red Express was basically the progenitor of today's muscle trucks, with a big V8 that made it one of the quickest new models in its day (admittedly, 1979 was a rough time for automotive performance). On the other hand, the '33 Ford was just meant to work, with little pretense for anything else. One of the hosts describes it as "the simplest, most difficult" vehicle he's driven because of the tricky double clutchwork necessary to shift gears. Scroll down to watch the video and try to decide which of these two American classics you would rather have in your garage.
