I am the third owner of this Dakota and have had many great adventures with it. I am sad to see it go, but I have recently moved from rural Kentucky and into the city of Denver. Understandably, I need to find something smaller or more functional to the surroundings. The transmission did recently go out but I had it replaced with a certified low mileage transmission. The work was performed by Accurate Transmission in Aurora, CO. I have tested this out by using this vehicle to drive to work over the past few weeks along with a couple outings to the mountains and it shifts like new. While doing the swap, both filters, the pan, and gasket were replaced. I have all paperwork to back this up. The exterior shows very little rust but the clear-coat is pealing - this is typical of Dodge's of this year. A tool box and bed liner are included though the key has been lost for the toolbox so it currently cannot be locked. The side-step/nerf bars need to go and can be removed at the buyer's request before the truck is picked up. The interior is in great condition other than the headliner, which is currently being held up by pins - this is also typical of Dodge's of this year with cloth headliners. I have installed a Sony CD/MP/Pandora receiver and Pioneer speakers which sounds great. All of which was purchased through Crutchfield. The Engine runs great and features a Flow-master exhaust and short-ram air intake which was installed by the previous owners. Along with the 4.7 liter V-8 engine, it sounds great in person. I get asked all the time what work I have had done to it. The title for this vehicle is clear, it has never been in an accident, and it is ready for the next happy owner to put many more miles on it. South Dakota dealer filled to brim with classic cars
Wed, 12 Mar 2014Other than the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and Mount Rushmore, South Dakota isn't generally a hot topic, but that just means that cool stuff can hide in the open waiting to be discovered. Case in point: the classic car dealer Frankman Motor Company that operates three locations in Sioux Falls, SD.
Unearthed by the folks at Bring a Trailer, Frankman is a treasure trove of vintage, American iron. Their collection is full of the type of vehicles your irresponsible but cool uncle would show up with when you were a kid. Even better, these cars are priced at a level a working man can afford.
If you are lusting about a cruiser then Frankman has a 1956 Cadillac Deville Hard Top Sedan (pictured right) with 82,896 miles for $12,975. It's painted a color called Cascade Grey, but looks more like a pastel purple in pictures. While it needs some repairs to the accessories, the Caddy runs and drives, which is all you really need.
2015 Dodge Charger shows off its new look in New York [w/videos]
Thu, 17 Apr 2014With a new look inspired largely by the Dart compact, the 2015 Dodge Charger made its New York Auto Show debut today. Along with the interior and exterior changes, an eight-speed automatic becomes standard across the range.
What hasn't changed is the choice of engines under the Charger's long hood. A 3.7-liter V6 serves as the base mill, and can be had in both rear- and all-wheel-drive varieties, while the 5.7-liter V8 is an optional item and can be had in rear-drive only. Outputs are also carried over from last year, with 292 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque for the six-pot, while the Hemi V8 delivers 370 hp and 395 lb-ft of torque.
The new exterior treatment is a fairly large departure from the styling tone set by the Charger since its reintroduction to the US market in 2006. The blacked-out, crosshair grille and new headlamps are the biggest changes for 2015, though there are other, less immediately noticeable updates, such as the more rounded "Racetrack" taillamps that, like the front fascia, draw some inspiration from the Dart.
Subaru Legacy pitted against Roadkill project cars
Fri, 05 Sep 2014There's an evergreen debate among auto enthusiasts about whether they would prefer to have the latest and greatest car of today or a certified classic from yesteryear. What if you had to further define that, though, and the choice was between a brand new 2015 Subaru Legacy or a turbocharged Datsun 240Z with a hatch that wouldn't close? Roadkill aimed to find out that and more in one of its best videos to date.
According to the hosts, Subaru came to them, handed over some money and challenged Roadkill's project cars against its latest Legacy. The result is every bit as good (or better) than any automotive-themed show you could find on television.
Things start simple with a figure-eight race in a rodeo arena with the Subaru taking on Roadkill's 1968 Ford Ranchero, originally built for ice racing. From there the Legacy races a 1968 Dodge Charger with no windows around and off-road rally stage. Finally, the Subie goes head-to-head against the Rotsun, the aforementioned turbocharged 240Z, through an abandoned neighborhood. Plus, there's a bonus drag race challenging them all.
