1994 Dodge Dakota Sport V6 Magnum, just put brand new rotors-calipers-brake pads on front of vehicle & master cylinder, brand new $50 halogen front lights, truck runs great, been used for landscaping and other work, needs new tires, had state inspected a few months ago said it needed tires, rear brake shoes, and a belt should be replaced they said, and a tail light (easy fix). CD player, bench seat in extended cab  4-5 passenger vehicle, truck has been parked and has not been driven since getting the new rotors-calipers-brakes-master cylinder, I don't have tags on the vehicle, because I don't have the money for insurance. and with out tags on vehicle, the city I live in is pressuring me to do something with the vehicle. Truck is in very good condition for being 20 yrs. old. only 144k miles on vehicle, runs great, and has a lot of life still in her. it's ready to work. any questions or offers please contact me at 301-523-7298-chris truck also has a bed topper so you can keep tools or whatever in the bed of vehicle and keep safe from strangers and weather. your choice if you want to use/keep the bed topper. not hard at all to remove bed topper from the truck if that's what you want to do. KBB (Kelly blue book) has the price of this truck in fair condition(fair meaning needs tires and some work and a little bit of damage- the very small dings/dents is the damage) in fair condition KBB has a price of a little more then $3100 in fair condition. I'm starting the bidding off at $1000, but you can make me an offer if you like. just message me through ebay or call me direct if that strikes your interest. I put a buy it now option on for $1800. but once someone bids that option I believe goes away. Will not ship, you have to come and pick up vehicle. being a work truck might have 1 or 2 dings/dents & being 20 years old it has a little bit of rust on top of left rear wheel-well. I don't believe there is any more anywhere else on the truck.  but the overall body of the truck is in really good shape. I'm telling you it's a great little work truck, and reliable, and treat her right she will go a good amount more then 144k miles! thank you

Detroit 3 small cars lay an egg in latest Consumer Reports reliability study

Tue, 28 Oct 2014

Consumer Reports has released its Annual Auto Reliability Survey and the results are, in a word, interesting. While we already covered the score-damaging effects of infotainment systems, there's another big angle to the data that's getting some attention - the utterly dismal scores of the Detroit Three's small car offerings.
The turbocharged Dodge Dart and Chevrolet Cruze, as well as the Ford Fiesta were their respective brands' lowest-scoring models, a stat that's made worse by the fact that the American automakers finished 25th, 21st and 23rd, respectively.
That's not acceptable for The Detroit Free Press' auto critic, Mark Phelan, who has penned a scathing critique of the D3's small car reliability scores, arguing that GM, Ford and Chrysler are "out of excuses."

Motorweek goes retro with '80s hot hatch shootout

Mon, 03 Nov 2014

Motorweek's decades of history on television make it the perfect medium to look back into the automotive past and see how things are different now. It recently added old road test videos to its YouTube channel of the Acura NSX and Toyota Supra, as well as the Ferrari F40. For one of its newest flashback clips, Motorweek has exhumed an affordable five-car challenge of 1986's premiere hot hatches.
By today's standards, this is an eclectic field that features fondly remembered classics like the Volkswagen GTI 16-valve and Acura Integra. However, it also throws in some nearly forgotten contenders like the Dodge Colt Turbo and Ford Escort GT. The angular Toyota Corolla FX16 GT-S rounds out the group.
It's fascinating to watch Motorweek run the quintet through the slalom, down the drag strip and on various roads. What's most striking in this clip is the difference in the definition of a performance car between then and now. With its 16-valve, 1.8-liter four-cylinder, the GTI is the burliest of the contenders with 123 horsepower, but it still takes 8.8 seconds to reach 60 miles per hour. By today's standards, that would make it a plain-jane economy car, and not even a particularly quick one.

Aficionauto drives Vin Diesel's fast and furious 1970 Dodge Charger

Mon, 15 Sep 2014

The Aficionauto host Christopher Rutkowski has a real passion for original and replica cars from movies and television, whether they are from James Bond, Jurassic Park, or incredibly obscure Japanese shows. However, he might have outdone himself this time because he hopped into one of the biggest automotive stars of contemporary cinema. This 1970 Dodge Charger appeared in Fast & Furious and came back in Fast Five, where Paul Walker actually drove it. The menacing, black muscle car will make its return to the franchise in the seventh film, too.
The Fast and Furious Charger is a real beast no matter how you look at it. The interior is nothing more than two seats and a roll cage, and as the video shows, this thing vibrates constantly like a coiled mass of muscle ready to strike. The camera can barely stay in place most of the time. Also, Dom's Dodge is more than happy to do a smoky burnout and leave the driver partially deaf afterward from its wonderful, ear-splitting engine roar.
The Aficionauto also interviews the man who controls the keys to this beast. Bob Hartwig was once an F-15 pilot, but he also loved Hollywood vehicles. Now, he's a partner at Picture Car Warehouse, a company with about 850 cars that supplies vehicles to film studios. This Charger definitely seems to be Hartwig's favorite in the collection, as it should be.
