1969 CORONET R/T
THIS IS A VERY NICE DRIVER QUALITY CORONET R/T CONVERTIBLE. IT IS ONE OF 318 CORONET R/T CONVERTIBLES WITH AN
AUTOMATIC PRODUCED IN 1969. IT STILL HAS ALL OF IT'S ORIGINAL SHEET METAL
EXCEPT FOR THE CENTER TRUNK SECTION WHICH IS QUITE RARE FOR A B BODY CONVERTIBLE. THIS CAR WILL DRAW ATTENTION AT
YOUR LOCAL CRUISES OR SHOWS AND CHANCES ARE YOU WILL BE THE ONLY R/T CONVERTIBLE ESPECIALLY RED OVER RED.
MECHANICALLY THIS R/T IS A VERY SOLID CAR. THE ORIGINAL ENGINE RUNS STRONG AND SMOOTH WITH NO WIERD NOISES, SMELLS,
OR SMOKE. THE TRANNY SHIFTS AS IT SHOULD AND THE SURE GRIP REAR END HAS NO NOISES. THE CAR STEERS STRAIGHT AND
STOPS GOOD.
THE BODY IS FLAT AND STRAIGHT AND ALL BODY GAPS SEEM TO BE AS THEY WERE FROM THE FACTORY WHICH IS STILL VERY NICE.
I BELIEVE THE PAINT TO HAVE BEEN APPLIED SEVERAL YEARS AGO AND STILL LOOKS VERY PRESENTABLE WITH JUST A FEW
IMPERFECTIONS. DOORS HAVE NO SAGS AND SHUT WELL AND ALL WINDOWS ROLL UP AND DOWN NICELY AND MEET TO EACH OTHER
WELL.
THE INTERIOR IS I BELIEVE TO BE MOSTLY ORIGINAL EXCEPT FOR THE CARPET AND ALL GAUGES WORK EXCEPT THE GAS GAUGE
WHICH FUNCTIONS BUT I DON'T BELIEVE IT TO BE CORRECT. THERE IS A HAIRLINE CRACK IN THE DASH PAD.
THIS IS A VERY SOLID CAR THAT IT HARD TO FIND IN A CONVERTIBLE. IT IS NOT A NUMBER ONE CAR BUT IT IS A CAR THAT IS
VERY PRESENTABLE AND GET YOU WERE YOU WANT TO GO. I WAS TOLD THE 40K MILES ARE ORIGINAL BUT I HAVE NO PROOF TO
THAT. THIS CAR IS SOLD WERE IOS AS IS AND THERE ARE NO WARRANTIES WRITTEN EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED.

Help find Kenny Wayne Shepherd's stolen 1972 Dodge Charger
Mon, 11 Nov 2013Judging by his collection of cars, blues musician Kenny Wayne Shepherd (shown above, at left, with fellow musician George Thorogood) is an enthusiast of classic Dodge muscle cars, so it's no surprise that he is an active member of Mopar-related online communities. When his 1972 Dodge Charger turned up missing from an LA-area warehouse last Wednesday, Shepherd took to the forums of Moparts.org in an attempt to get the word out in hopes of recovering his custom classic.
The Charger was stolen along with four other vehicles, and Hot Rod reports that two women have been taken into custody since - but still no word on the car. With its blacked-out appearance (including custom Foose wheels), this car is definitely hard to miss, but Shepherd also said that the car might be even more distinguishable now due to some body damage that may have occurred as it was being driven from the warehouse lot. Shepherd's website has a full gallery of images for this '72 Charger, which also has a modern 392-cubic-inch V8 under the hood and a six-speed gearbox pulled from a Viper.
If you're in the LA area and happen to see this car, Shepherd asks that you call the LAPD West Valley Division at 818-374-7611. Here's to hoping this one-of-a-kind Charger turns up unscathed.
Dodge Scat Packages add Mopar performance upgrades in three stages
Wed, 06 Nov 2013Dodge has revealed what it calls Scat Package Stage Kits that enhance the performance of the Charger and the Challenger equipped with the 5.7-liter V8, and the Dart equipped with the turbocharged 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine. The Scat Packs use Mopar performance parts that also can be bought separately. Most of the upgrades increase engine output, but Dodge somehow manages to not specifically mention the power gains associated with each Scat Pack.
The three Scat Packs offered for the V8-powered cars focus on higher power ratings, and each stage comes complete with a unique engine-management calibration to optimize output. Stage one comes with a cold-air intake and a cat-back exhaust; stage two adds a performance camshaft; and stage three really gives you the goods, adding ported polished cylinder heads and performance headers.
For the Dart, the Scat Packs focus on engine, transmission, chassis and brake upgrades. Stage one will net you a cold-air intake, a short-throw shifter and slotted rotors with performance brake pads; stage two adds a cat-back exhaust system and an engine-management calibration to increase output by taking advantage of premium-octane gasoline; and stage three adds 13-inch vented brake discs up front clamped by four-piston calipers, suspension with adjustable springs and struts and performance front and rear antiroll bars.
Top torque-to-weight ratios under $100k, $50k and $25k
Tue, 07 Oct 2014Horsepower may steal a lot of headlines, but the always-more-complex torque figure is often a critical one for both the workingman and the motoring playboy. The measure of rotational force represents the twist that can liquefy one's tires or haul one's horse trailer. Good stuff.
It follows then, that as with the horsepower-to-weight list that we assembled for you a few months ago, a list of cars that offer the most pound-feet with the fewest pounds to carry, is an interesting one to break down. Sure, there's a big difference in how the torque is applied from a turbocharged six-cylinder in a Swedish luxury sedan and a massive heavy-duty truck's turbo-diesel. But being the car/stat geeks that we are, we think it's kinda neat that those two vehicles rank near each other where torque and weight intersect.
As with the horsepower list, we've given you figures as pounds per every one pound-foot. Again broken down into broad price categories, we've got a mixed bag of 2014 and 2015 models here, too. Every effort has been made to select the most up-to-date prices and specs, and we've also to omitted some '14 cars that won't be re-upped after the ongoing yearly changeover.
