Up for bid is a real 1970 DODGE CHARGER RT/SE 440 SIX PACK. The VIN TAG, FENDER TAG, DOOR STICKER, CORE SUPPORT, TRUNK RAIL and TITLE all match. This Dodge Charger with its 440-6v option is 1 of 337 ever produced with the automatic transmission per Galen Govier (white book). The body is rough and will require restoration, typical of a b-body Mopar. The doors and trunk lid are not attached to the body, the automobile was being prepped for restoration. The original engine from air cleaner to oil pan is not present, instead a 383c.i.d. engine dated AUGUST 28, 1970 resides in place (this is the best I can see as I do not have a lift, the transmission is not the original). The items you see in the pictures below are what I have for the vehicle. PARTIAL LIST OF PARTS Hood, Hood Hinges, Fenders,Chrome Bumper (front and rear), 1970 Grill, Six Pack K-Frame Asy.( with swaybar, control arms, etc.), Original 26” Radiator, Original Wiper Motor, All Electrical Wiring (seems to be intact), Doors, Transmission, Driveshaft, 8 3/4 Rear Axle, Magnum Wheels, Glass (front, rear and pass. Side), Trunk Lid, Tail Panel Trim, Misc. Chrome Trim for Windows and Vinyl Top, Rally Instrument Cluster, Front Bucket and Rear Seats, Door Panels, Rear Inner Tail Light Cover. Just to name a few. From what I can tell most of the parts are ORIGINAL to the car, meaning they are date-coded or specific to this car. If you don’t see it –ask and I will check for you. I have no use for this vehicle so anything that has been acquired for it is in this auction. Please, before asking to check something for you, look at the pictures very closely as I have photographed any and all parts that come with the automobile. 2015 Dodge Charger darts into NY traffic
Thu, 17 Apr 2014Meet the refreshed 2015 Dodge Charger; notice anything different? You would have to be pretty farsighted to miss the sedan's new Dart-like nose, and it's likely going to be quite polarizing to the car's fans. Gone are the previous furrowed, aggressive headlights in favor of a wider, friendlier look.
While the more rounded headlights and narrower grille are going to be the first thing most people notice, Dodge claims its designers have made changes to nearly every panel on the Charger. The hood dips down deeper at the front, and the doors show off a more angled version of the car's shoulder blister. LED running lights and taillights are standard on all models, and SXT and RT trims get LED foglights. Even though the front might not be as intimidating, Dodge has hung onto the sedan's muscular stance with angular contours making up the rest of the redesign.
Under the hood is the same engine range you've come to know over recent years. Both the 5.7-liter V8 and the 3.6-liter V6 return for 2015, with the Hemi making 370 horsepower and 395 pound-feet of torque, and the standard Pentestar outputting 292 hp and 260 lb-ft. All models are now equipped with Chrysler's TorqueFlight eight-speed automatic as standard. Fuel economy for V8 Chargers is predicted at 16 miles per gallon city and 25 mpg highway, compared to 15 mpg / 25 mpg last year with a five-speed automatic. All models also come with electric power steering, and the axles are cast from aluminum to save weight.
Dodge to resurrect Scat Pack?
Fri, 27 Sep 2013Before social media ever existed, if automotive enthusiasts wanted to be noticed or recognize other fans, they joined a car club. For Dodge muscle car lovers from 1968 through 1971, that group was known as the Scat Pack. Just like the Charger, Challenger and Dart nameplates, it looks like the Scat Pack could be getting a resurrection by Chrysler.
Automotive News is reporting that Chrysler recently renewed its trademark on the Scat Pack name, and while this is in no way a guarantee that the name will return, AN talked to Tim Kuniskis, Dodge President and CEO, who stoked the fire a little more. In the article, Kuniskis said that the name is "a very important part of our history" and added that "we like the whole idea of having a Scat Pack of cars." Scat Pack models were identified by their bumblebee stripes and helmet-wearing bumblebee logo, and the idea of a modern Scat Pack doesn't seem all that outlandish in light of recent vehicles like the Charger SRT Super Bee and the Ram 1500 Rumble Bee Concept.
What do you think, is this a cool idea, or is it just an unwelcome bit of nostalgia? Have you say in Comments.
Mopar maneuvers into SEMA with a multitude of modified models
Wed, 05 Nov 2014As the aftermarket and performance arm of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Mopar has a duty to extract everything from the company's models that it can, and there's no better place to show all of its work off than the annual SEMA Show.
Dodge really gets in on the act this year with several customs to show off different parts of the brand's performance heritage. Perhaps the most interesting among them is the track-prepped Viper ACR Concept (pictured above). It wears a custom body kit to produce even more downforce, thanks in no small part to a monstrous wing at the back. To shed weight, most of the interior is stripped out, as well. Next up, the Challenger T/A Concept takes inspiration from '70s Trans-Am racing in a livery of Sublime Green and matte black paint. The center scoop in the hood keeps the 6.4-liter V8 fed with cool air, and the special's 20-by-9.5-inch matte black wheels keep it planted in the corners.
Also getting the once-over from Mopar is the Charger R/T. It wears the division's body kit, and under the hood, a cold-air intake keeps the 5.7-liter V8 breathing. The suspension is retooled to hold the road better with a coil-over kit, upgraded sway bars and strut tower braces for the front and rear. The company is also showing off a snazzy blue Charger with a mean look. The final Dodge getting work from Mopar is the Dart R/T Concept with bright, O-So-Orange paint and a matte black hood with a scoop hooked directly to the air intake. The performance-oriented design is finished off with a coil-over suspension and big brake kit, as well.
