Very clean presentable muscle car. Recent paint ,new wheel lip mouldings, all new front end, driveshaft, gas tank, good running 400 cu Mopar, good 727 trans, new power brake booster, new rear springs, new headliner, carpets, seat covers, 17"mags, good tires- DOT slicks on rear.  Refurbished console. Hide away headlights, but won't shut off, so just unplug - takes 5 seconds, close manually -  takes 10 seconds.  Found out after buying car that it had e body buckets, seat covers look great, but there is no back on them{springs show} no interior rear window molding, has new window rubber seal that comes with car.  No power windows. All glass is original, so it has naturally has some scratches, but no cracks.  Speedo cable needs replaced. Runs cool at any temp, very dependable, real attention getter best looked at with sunglasses (very bright)  Body is very straight, but not perfect.  Trunk and engine compartment painted same. Runs great on highway, steers and stops great. Newer edelbrock carb 750 cfm. No disappointments. Originally white with tan vinyl top, tan interior. Was originally a 318 car.  There is one body brace that goes just in front of rad that needs to be installed, freshly painted, ready to install. I couldn't figure out where it was supposed to go. Car needed some assembly when purchased, hence the extra part left over.  Classic Muscle car stance, looks wicked from front  in rear view mirror, evan more so from back when following. Haggerty appraised at $40,000. No disappointments. Ask any questions This is one clean car.Actual milage unknown, needed to enter something to list auto.

Detroit 3 small cars lay an egg in latest Consumer Reports reliability study

Tue, 28 Oct 2014

Consumer Reports has released its Annual Auto Reliability Survey and the results are, in a word, interesting. While we already covered the score-damaging effects of infotainment systems, there's another big angle to the data that's getting some attention - the utterly dismal scores of the Detroit Three's small car offerings.
The turbocharged Dodge Dart and Chevrolet Cruze, as well as the Ford Fiesta were their respective brands' lowest-scoring models, a stat that's made worse by the fact that the American automakers finished 25th, 21st and 23rd, respectively.
That's not acceptable for The Detroit Free Press' auto critic, Mark Phelan, who has penned a scathing critique of the D3's small car reliability scores, arguing that GM, Ford and Chrysler are "out of excuses."

I sold my Viper, but the memories I'll keep

Thu, 30 May 2013

The following is written by auto industry veteran Tow Kowaleski. The words are his own, but the memories now belong to everyone thanks to his willingness to share. If you're an industry veteran with a story to share, contact us at tipsATautoblogDOTcom.
It became the flame that started the fire of belief in the next life of Chrysler.
I just sold a car. Nothing new. Millions do it every day. But my car was a 1995 Dodge Viper, so maybe it was a bit more unique since just 12,000 were built. And like others selling a car that's been a part of the family for close to 20 years, this was a confluence of emotions for me. I was sad to see it go, but happy to have the cash and one less big, shiny, under-utilized object in my life.

Old vs. New: 2014 SRT Viper takes on upgraded 16-year-old Dodge Viper

Fri, 08 Feb 2013

It's easy to play the "Would you rather have a New X or an Old Y with a bunch of upgrades?" game more often than we care to admit, but the crew at Car and Driver have taken bench racing to the next level with their latest video. In it, the magazine pits a brand-new 2014 SRT Viper against a highly modified 1997 Dodge Viper GTS. There are 16 years between the time this particular GTS rolled off the production line and when the new car bowed, but that doesn't mean the old snake's owners have been sitting on their hands.
Thanks to a spate of modifications, the GTS offers up a better power to weight ratio than the new machine, but is that enough to overcome the technological leap forward represented by the 2014 Viper? We won't spoil it for you. You'll just have to check out the full clip below for yourself.
