1968 Dodge Charger - Excellent "original" Project - Drive While You Restore on 2040-cars

1968 Dodge Charger.  Basically an original, never restored car.  Has from what I can tell a year correct 440  engine (Stamped  D 440), but was originally a 383 car.  Your going to have a hard time finding a complete project car like this one, ready for a quick and easy restoration.  Car sat for 3-4 years, I got it running (this past weekend) so it can be driven in and out of the shop and I replaced the Master Cylinder so it would stop.

I removed the front windshield and rear glass to inspect any damage from the vinyl top, all the seams and around the windows were good etc but the roof itself (top) and the sail panels needed some attention.  All of that work has been completed and car is ready for a new vinyl top.  Body is straight, I have a lower RH quater patch panel as most likely a tire blew out and dented the original panel in.  It needs to be pulled out or I would recommend installing the patch.  Rust bubbles here and there but nothing that is real bad (I would just do 80 grit, treat the rust from backside, and use panel bond to fix and should be good to go).  Car can be in the paint booth fast.  Original trunk looks great, a couple of spots on the corners that have holes but this is hands down the best Charger trunk I've seen.  Trunk drip rails, all great condition.  I pulled the hood and the trunk lid off, took those for bead blast and are primed with PPG (professionally done).  I have not re-installed the hood yet, will do so this weekend.

Interior is all original stuff, needs to be gone through.  It appears to be all there, from the carpet to even the original radio, and rear defrost.

Condition of the Electrical system is unknown, I hotwired the car to start and drive it.

Check my feedback, I have sold numerous classic cars, motorcycles, (about 2-3 per year) etc since 2005 with 100% excellent feedback and have dealt with overseas buyers in the past so no worries (again check my seller feedback).  All funds must post before car leaves my garage.  I am an honest seller and expect the same from potential buyers.  Car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to cancel the auction at any time.  Not going to find many 68 Chargers like this, thanks for looking.

I do have another 68 Charger that will be going onto Ebay in another week, if your looking for multiple '68 Chargers.

NOTE: I am having problems with uploading the pictures of the car, please check back in a day or two.

Weekly Recap: Things you might not know about the 2015 Dodge Charger and Challenger Hellcats

Sat, 16 Aug 2014

If you're an enthusiast, and you don't know that Dodge spawned another Hellcat this week, you really must have been living in cave. The 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat is probably the biggest news for enthusiasts since the reveal of, well the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat.
But, there are some things you might not know or might have missed about the new Charger and Challenger Hellcats. For starters, reports that the Hellcat production would be limited to a low volume are not true.
"We have not capped the Hellcat on either the Challenger or the Charger," Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis said.

NHTSA investigating Ram 1500 models for rear differential failure

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and its Ram brand following a number of reports regarding the 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup. According to 15 consumer complaints, the trucks' rear differential locked up while in other cases, the driveshaft separated at its connection to the diff.
Nearly half of the reports claim the truck was traveling at or above 50 miles per hour, while two consumers reported that the diff lockup/driveshaft separation sent their pickups into a spin. Most troubling, though, is that consumers reported little to no sound indicating there was a problem with their truck.
We reached out to Ram for additional information, such as how many vehicles may be affected or what equipment might be fitted that could cause the issue. Unfortunately, the company wasn't willing to elaborate on specifics.

eGarage interviews a couple with 65 Vipers

Thu, 12 Sep 2013

Owning multiple vehicles can be a hassle worth enjoying if you're willing to spend the time and the money required to acquire and maintain them. But when it's hard to make ends meet while underused valuable hunks of metal, plastic and rubber sit happily taking up garage space, journeys into the depths of other people's well-developed automotive obsessions will either bring you and your cars closer together, or compel you to sell them off before you become one of those fanatics. A recent video by eGarage is one of those journeys, and it's not for the faint of heart: D'Ann and Wayne Rauh own 65 Dodge and SRT Vipers in a collection of automobiles that exceeds 100.
We're not sure if the couple has developed heat-resistant calves from stepping over Viper door sills made burning-hot by side-exhaust pipes, but we wouldn't be surprised if they did. We did learn that their obsession with the no-holds-barred sports car started in 2006 with a trip to a dealership to buy just one Viper, which goes to show how innocently car obsessions can start. But the Rauhs seem to be doing just fine - perhaps better - 64 more Vipers later.
Watch the video below for the full story and to see what eGarage claims is the world's largest Viper collection.
