Original Owner 2009 Dodge Challenger One Of A Kind! Kenne Bell Supercharged on 2040-cars

You are looking at a one of a kind, 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT-8, owned by a serious collector who is downsizing the fleet as part of my "retirement plan".  I bought the car brand new from Blaine Dodge, and ordered it with NO dealer prep. Why?  I wanted to get the car in the original factory condition, including all of the protective stickers, seat and floor covers, etc.  The plan was to order a car that will be worth big money in 20 years, because at that time it will be the only Dodge Challenger that includes ALL factory pieces and parts. You can still see the suction cup marks on the windshield from the factory assembly process, because the windshield was not cleaned by the dealership. This car hasn't been licensed for the street since 2010, so it will need to be registered. I took possession of the car as they unloaded it from the delivery car carrier.  I drove the car home, carefully removed the seat/floor protection, but left the protective covers, stickers, and badges elsewhere in the interior.  You can see some of these in the pics. I carefully removed and saved the window sticker and other documentation that was affixed to the car. I labelled where these items were located as well.  While the 425 hp SRT-8 engine has plenty of power from the factory, I wanted more.  I ordered a Kenne Bell Supercharger Kit for the 6.1 liter engine, and a few weeks later I completed the installation and testing. I'm very meticulous and worked slowly to ensure a perfect installation.  The car has never been raced, nor have I dynoed the engine.  I can tell you that the car is VERY fast, even with the stock exhaust (the supercharger was designed for the stock Dodge Challenger exhaust, and according to KenneBell, it's a very low restriction exhaust so they recommend using the factory system). The supercharger is a liquid cooled Mammoth 2.8LC.  KenneBell's testing on the dyno resulted with a 173 horsepower gain at the rear wheel.  This converts to over 200 horsepower gain at the engine!  (visit the Kenne Bell website to see the test results on the Dodge Challenger SRT-8 6.1 liter, with the 2.8LC Supercharger kit.  Assuming their numbers are close to accurate, this would be in the range of 600-625 horsepower at the engine, and believe me- it feels like it!  After installing the supercharger and carefully rechecking all connections, I tool the car out for a test.   The factory rear tires would lose traction, even at 20 miles per hour!  Kenne Bell achieves full boost at only 2000 rpm, so you are at peak boost as you leave the stop sign.  Because traction was so terrible with all that new power, I then ordered some sticky, DOT approved street tires for the rear.  I also ordered a 2nd set of wheels that match the factory wheels. So the car comes with 2 sets of rear wheels and tires, both mounted and balanced.  Both the factory tires/wheels and the sticky Nitto tires/wheels are included in this auction.  The pics of the car are with the Nitto sticky tires on it. While the tires were a very expensive investment, they work very well, and look like the factory tires. If you are a street cruiser (or like me, a street punk) and you want a car that looks and sounds stock, but will launch with unbelievable power and traction....this mopar is the ticket!  I've driven the car to a few local shows but have never used it for transportation, hence the very low miles.  There are extras that are included in this auction:
1. a smaller pulley for the Kenne Belle supercharger, and installation tool.  I've never installed this pulley which increases the boost to a point where you need to run racing fuel in the car.. After driving the car you will probably make the same decision I did, "why would I ever want MORE power?"
2. the factory rear wheels and tires with very few miles on them.  I would estimate less than 100 miles were on them when I replaced them with the DOT approved Nitto tires.
3. All the factory-applied protective "stuff", that the dealerships remove and toss.  I have it all, and most is still on the car.
4. Kenne Bell instruction and owners manual, and email exchanges with KenneBell during the ordering process
5. ALL of the original factory parts that can be easily reinstalled if you want to return the car to original condition.  I carefully labeled the parts and bolts so you will know where everything goes.
6. The Kenne Bell ECM programmer.  The car's computer was tuned for the supercharger, using the KenneBell provided hand-held tuner.  This device stores the factory tune, so if you want to restore the car to factory specs you merely plug in the tuner and restore.  It also saves the high-performance tune, so you can go back to it in the future (if you change your mind AGAIN).  ha ha
7. Factory Owners manual
8. 2nd keyless entry FOB
9. Window sticker and dealer order forms/receipts/booklets
10. Husky interior floor liners (front and rear)
11. Splash guards (clip on style- no holes drilled)

I can hold and and store the car for up to 3 months, however I require $5000 down payment, and we will write a formal Purchase Agreement.

Roadkill builds crazy-cheap 1968 Dodge Charger rat rod using an old motorhome

Tue, 24 Dec 2013

Certain requests for description simply cannot be fulfilled, like if someone asked you to describe Picasso's Guernica or Gilliam's Brazil. There is only one appropriate answer to such entreaties, and that is: "You just gotta see it." That's where we are with the latest episode of Roadkill, wherein Messr's Freiburger and Finnegan dig out a 1968 Dodge Charger that Freiburger acquired in exchange for a set of cylinder heads, and intend to stuff it with the big-block motor from a long-bed, three-quarter ton Dodge pickup.
Only the pickup is too nice to tear apart, and the Charger needs a whole lot more lovin' - and parts - than initially expected. Enter, stage right, the Class A Dodge Pace Arrow motorhome with a 440 big-block purchased for $1,000, and a retired Plymouth Fury from a previous episode.
What ensues over the course of the 40-minute installment is more cuttin', yankin', leakin', stallin', hammerin' and smokin' action than you've seen in a long time, and some techniques that would have made even Cooter wonder, "I'm not sure if we should do that." By the end, though, the payoff is good enough to make you think about perusing AutoTrader for a '68 Charger just to see if maybe...

2015 Dodge Charger Pursuit is ready to serve and protect

Fri, 08 Aug 2014

Okay speed freaks, it's time to update your cheat sheet of police headlights, as Dodge has just unveiled the new 2015 Charger sedan's police variant, the Pursuit.
Like previous Charger Pursuits, the 2015 model is based on a modified version of the civilian sedan, featuring the same basic batch of mechanicals and sheetmetal, while adding a number of items specific to the five-oh.
For 2015, cops can select from the same 3.6-ltier V6 and 5.7-liter Hemi V8 available to the civilian population, with former turning out 292 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque and the latter packing 370 ponies and 390 lb-ft. Even loaded down with equipment, Dodge claims the Hemi-powered cop car can hit 60 miles per hour in under six seconds, while both engines are expected return 26 miles per gallon on the highway (thanks to the V8's four-cylinder mode). Rear-wheel drive is standard with both engines, while V8 Pursuits can be fitted with all-wheel drive.

2013 Dodge Challenger V6 recalled for fire risk, owners asked not to drive

Sun, 17 Mar 2013

Chrysler has issued a recall for the V6 version of the 2013 Dodge Challenger (as pictured above in 2012MY) over the possibility of a wiring harness that could short circuit and lead to a fire. Owners of these V6 Challengers built from November 2012 through January 2013 are being urged to contact dealers immediately and, in the meantime, not to drive their cars or park in or near any buildings.
Chrysler estimates around 2,500 potentially affected Challengers are in owners' hands, while another 1,900 are still sitting on dealer lots. The total number of recalled vehicles is 4,459.
So far, Chrysler says that seven fires have been reported - none resulting in injuries. The company is instructing vehicle owners to contact their dealer to find out if their vehicle is included in the recall, but owners can also find the build date information of their vehicle by checking the label in the driver's door jamb.
