If you're looking for a 100% saveable, restorable, be on the road in 60 days Challenger this is the car for you!
I am selling a Dodge Challenger that has been kept in doors, the floor pan and trunk pan are solid!  There is no
rotting metal only basic surface rust.  I have the complete original interior minus a part of the back seat.  The dash
is intact with all of the original guages.  The original motor was pulled years ago but the car can come with a period
correct complete 440 that runs or if you prefer a period 340 short block.  I have the original automatic transmission
from the car.  All of the chrome trim pieces are there and the wheels you see come with the car.  I bought this car years
ago with the intent to finish and use it but decided to move on to other projects and wish to see this car go to someone
that will finish and use it.  There aren't many of these around and certainly not in this condition!!  The car is at my shop
in Gray Court,SC and can be seen or inspected any time just let me know when.

This is a chance to own an original American Muscle Car that will certainly be a head turner!  Please email me at
mustang1871 at gmail for any more information, details or pictures and I will be glad to provide same.  Winning bidder
is expected to send a deposit to hold the car and balance when picked up at your convenience or can deliver the car to
you depending upon where.

Thank you for looking and good luck.

Detroit's new fleet of donated police cars have safety issues [w/video]

Wed, 23 Oct 2013

In a show of generosity in mid-August, Detroit's business leaders donated $8 million to the Police Department and Fire Department in order to buy 100 new police vehicles and 23 EMS ambulances. But now officers have discovered - and complained - that the police vehicles have glaring safety issues, Deadline Detroit reports. It is not made clear what models of the fleet vehicles - which include police versions of the Ford Taurus, the Chevrolet Caprice and the Dodge Charger - are affected by the safety issues.
Officers reportedly have complained that the Plexiglass partition separating front-seat officers and back-seat prisoners is easily breached, and that the front passenger seat is installed too close to the dashboard. Prisoners who manage to writhe out of their handcuffs can bend the Plexiglass and reach into the cockpit, and sitting too close to the dashboard can render airbags more dangerous and make officers more vulnerable to injury in a crash.
Mark Diaz, president of the Detroit Police Officers Association, received the complaints and reportedly said the vehicles would get safety updates addressing the issues. But Deadline Detroit reports that it checked some of the offending police cars and, as of the last few days, they hadn't been updated.

How fracking is causing Chrysler minivans to sit on Detroit's riverfront

Fri, 25 Apr 2014

It's fascinating the way that one change to a complex system can have all sorts of unintended consequences. For instance, there are hundreds of new Chrysler Town and County and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans built in Windsor, Ontario, sitting in lots on the Detroit waterfront because of the energy boom in the Bakken oil field in the northern US and parts of Canada.
The huge amount of crude oil coming from these sites mostly use freight trains for transport, and that supply boom has resulted in a shortage of railcars to carry other goods. According to The Windsor Star, North American crude oil transport by train has gone from 9,500 carloads in 2008 to 434,032 carloads in 2013. Making matters worse, some North American rail infrastructure is still damaged because of this year's harsh winter, and that's slowing things down even further.
Chrysler admits to The Star that it has had some delivery delays due to the freight train shortage. In the meantime, it's using more trucks to deliver its vehicles. Trucking is a far less economical solution, partially because a train can carry so many more units at one time, but alternatives are slim. The Windsor plant alone has a deal for 33 trucks to distribute the minivans around Canada and the Midwestern US.

Ralph Gilles responds to Dodge rumors, says brand is 'here to stay'

Fri, 12 Jul 2013

This is why we love Ralph Gilles. While in Italy hanging out with a group of Viper Club members in Europe, the SRT boss took the time to respond to a question directed at him on Instagram in regards to the future of Dodge.
Recent reports have painted a bleak picture for Dodge, but Gilles defended Chrysler's full-line brand by stating that the rumors are, "all rumors, Dodge is here to stay! It may get more focused going forward but not killed!" The idea of a "more focused" Dodge brand could lend some credibility to reports that the Grand Caravan and Durango are on their way out, which would leave Dodge solely as a car, or car-based, automaker.
