This car is originally from out west. White on white is very rare, and it's in its original paint except for its RT hood and its front and rear valence pans. It has 92,019 original miles. It came with a 318 auto, and now has a 383 with a 727 automatic transmission with 50,000 miles on the motor and transmission.

The floors, trunk, and frame are very solid and straight. It's obvious that the car has not been hit hard just by seeing its original panels, I also have the original hood which is not dented. I had taken pictures of some of the bad areas, for instance, the trunk is very solid with one small hole the size of a quarter, also trunk gutter has some rust in the front corners. Also the front fender on the lower section. It is very solid around the glass, the windows all crank up and down fine. I cannot seem to get the passenger door lock to unlock, the drivers door opens and aligns perfectly, however. I have an extra dash, because the current one needs to be replaced. The harness is completely there and is NOT hacked up. It needs some connections cleaned, the wipers don't work, and some lights don't work. I have all the body trim pieces and all the interior trim pieces you cannot see in the pictures.

The motor does not leak or tick. It smoked a little due to sitting, and I replaced the filter and the old oil, with zinc additive. The tires are fairly new, and the exhaust is good. It also has a new Legendary headliner.

The car is being sold AS IS. A deposit of $500 is due within 48 hours of the auction's close. The full payment is due within 7 days of the auction's close. Please call as soon as the auction ends. If I do not contact me within a reasonable amount of time, I will consider keeping the car.  Bill of sale and buildsheet only.

Chrysler recalls 350k vehicles over ignition switches

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

Chrysler has announced a recall covering 349,442 vehicles due to ignition switches that can either become stuck or move without warning. All of the affected vehicles are from the 2008 model year, and were built before May 12, 2008.
The automaker has learned that ignition keys on some vehicles "may not fully return to the 'ON' position after rotation to the 'START' position during engine-startup," the company said in a statement. Additionally, "an ignition key may not fully return to the 'ON' position after rotation to the 'START' position and may inadvertently move through the 'ON' position to 'ACCESSORY' or 'OFF.'"
Chrysler says it is unaware of any related injuries, and notes that while reduced braking, engine or steering power is possible in such instances, the airbags are not affected. The later stands in contrast to General Motors' recent rash of high-profile recalls, and it's an important distinction that Chrysler (understandably) felt necessary to call out in bold print in its press release.

These cars are headed to the Great Crusher In The Sky

Fri, 24 Aug 2012

It happens every year. We bid adieu to some cars and trucks that will be missed, and say good riddance to others wondering how they stayed around so long. Whether they're being killed off for slow sales or due to a new product coming along to replace them, the list of vehicles being discontinued after 2012 is surprisingly long and diverse.
CNN Money has compiled a list of departing vehicles, to which we've added a few more of our own. In the slow sales column, cars like the Lexus HS 250h, Mercedes-Benz R-Class and the full Maybach lineup appear, while the Ford Escape Hybrid, Mazda CX-7 and Hyundai Veracruz are all having their gaps filled with more modern and more fuel-efficient alternatives. Obvious exceptions to the rule include models that still sell in decent numbers like the Jeep Liberty and the Chrysler Town & Country (which will eventually be replaced by a crossover-like vehicle).

Dodge Viper saved from crusher by students, but will it last?

Tue, 16 Sep 2014

The saga of the Washington state community college hoping to keep its allegedly pre-production Dodge Viper out of the maw of the crusher is going strong. Not only does the school still have the car, but there's a chance that the college might even get to keep it.
The whole situation flared up in March when the South Puget Sound Community College in Olympia, WA, received a notice from Chrysler Group that requested that the school's Viper be destroyed. The automaker had loaned the muscle car to it about a decade ago to use for educational purposes in its auto tech classes. With the Dodge growing long in the tooth, "it is unlikely that these vehicles offer any educational value to students," the company said in its press release on the matter.
However, the college balked at destroying its Viper, despite the fact it had signed a contract with Chrysler Group to do so. The school further claimed that its car was incredibly special because it was a pre-production example and just the fourth one made back in 1992. Although, as we pointed out at the time, the photos of the school's vehicle showed a coupe that looked like a newer Viper GTS.
