1971 Dodge Challenger Citron Yella Factory Ac Great Resto Mod Builder Charger on 2040-cars

Year:1971 Mileage:98000 Color: from the doors back looks original best we can tell
Location:

Tucson, Arizona, United States

1971 Dodge Challenger

PERFECT CAR TO BUILD AS YOU WANT WITHOUT RUINING ANYTHING
AND ONLY IMPROVING ON WHAT DODGE STARTED OUT WITH IN 1971

LOOKING AT THE CAR AS IS IF YOU WHERE GOING TO RESTO-MOD IT
HOW COOL WOULD IT BE TO TRANSPLANT A 69 CHARGER GRILL AND
HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY INTO A CAR LIKE THIS FOR A REAL WOW EFFECT
IF YOU COULD DO IT WITHOUT REALLY CHOPPING UP THE CAR. THE
CHALLENGER NEVER CAME WITH HIDE-A-WAYS, but maybe its time someone did one.

BEING THE FACTORY COLOR LOOKS TO BE CITRON YELLOW MAKES FOR A
GREAT COLOR TO BUILD ON .  Car comes with factory build sheet / but no fender tag
PIC YOUR ENGINE / TRANSMISSION / SUSPENSION AND DO IT RIGHT
IT WOULD BE A GREAT CAR, PAYOFF OR BOTH.

Heres a quick story about the car. It was used by Picture Car Warehouse for a few yrs.
If you go to their website you can still see the car on there up for rent and you
can see the black Challenger too they used for the movie (or 1 of them )
They are the ones who swiped the front sheetmetal for another project . If you saw
movie Out of Time with Justin Timberlake, the LF black fender came off one of
their stunt cars. Mr Timberlake wasnt the best driver of a 4 spd, and dented up one
of the cars he was driving in the movie. FOR that reason Im planning on keeping
that fender and not ship it with the car because of its story.

LUCKILY just about every part you need to restore this car is available
NOW a days and finding parts is much better then it was 5 yrs ago.
RestoMod builds if done correctly can easily bring $60k plus.

THIS CAR RUNS AND DRIVES, but I found to keep it running I have to
keep my hand on the key, keeping it forward enough to stay running
but not engaging the starter. So it needs a starter switch in the column
I think. I can drive and move the car around like this but its a little
daunting.

OUR 100% feedback speaks for itself
and many of our feedback are from about 15 cars we sold just this past
year here on EBay. We put more time and effort into our ads making it much
easier for the potential buyers to bid with confidence.
NOT MANY OF THESE CARS WHERE MADE BACK IN THE DAY and we all know
NOT MANY ARE EVEN LEFT ON THE ROAD ANYMORE.

DRIVETRAIN: the original slant 6 runs great and the transmission
feels good too. Some cool options on the motor are AC and PS.
Motor runs great making the car easier to ship, but chances are
Its going to be pulled out and sold. The rearend looks like an 8.75
which is a plus + . So it does run and drive and brakes are good.

INTERIOR: worn out from front to back, but the front seat
shells are worthy of restoring. Back seat is missing the back
part, but they are available used online if you are planning
on putting it all back to stock. The whole interior needs
restoration but the floors look decent. Some rust around the
rain gutters, so it will need some spot sectional repairs
Missing the 2 front door glass and regulators. Front / Rear
and 1/4 glass looks good and there. It was a console car too.

EXTERIOR: from the doors back looks original best we can tell.
The front fenders & flat hood where really nice, but the
last owner scavenged them for their project. The car
wasnt wrecked and aprons look good too. The car will for
sure need some metal patch repairs around the body.
Its not eastcoast salt rust, its more CA near the ocean rust.
Frame, and most of the floors are really nice. Trunk is ok
but probably want to replace part of it. The car will need
patch work in several areas around the car, but again its
still better then most Ive seen for what our reserve is at.
As far as I can tell too, this car NEVER came with a vinyl top.
Citron Yella was the original color best I can tell.

SUSPENSION
: basically all stock, feels normal when driving
it around our parking lot etc.

IF YOU DONT SEE IT IN THE PICS, IT DOES NOT COME WITH
THE CAR (aside from the lovely model who also does not
come with it , haha.)

Overall again, the car feels good for a daily driver

This car is not your typical rust free Arizona car but it is
a CA car that needs some rust repair.

These cars rarely even come up for sale anymore
Check out ALL the pics below ----->

it may take a full minute for them all to load if you have a
slow connection, so be patient AND looks for the extra scroll
bar on the right side.
Az gets maybe 12" a yr of rain and Az very dry climate.
more info AFTER the pics etc. There are 100 large pics.

2015 Dodge Charger Pursuit prepares to keep Hellcats in line

Wed, 13 Aug 2014

Earlier today, Dodge pulled the wraps off its 2015 Charger SRT Hellcat - a 707-horsepower sedan capable of sprinting to 60 miles per hour in 3.7 seconds and reaching a top speed of 204 mph. Naturally, the car debuted in a bright shade of pull-me-over red, so it was fitting, then, that Dodge also brought its newly updated 2015 Charger Pursuit to keep everything under control.
No, cops won't be able to spec their Charger cruisers with the 707-hp Hellcat engine (oh man, imagine the chase scenes...), but law enforcement officials will be able to choose from either a 3.6-liter V6 or 5.7-liter Hemi V8, producing 292 hp and 370 hp, respectively. V8 models can be ordered with all-wheel drive, and Dodge estimates that with either engine, the Charger Pursuit can achieve up to 26 miles per gallon on the highway (thanks to the V8's four-cylinder mode).
Other updates for 2015 include improved braking power, a seven-inch display in the instrument cluster, a five-inch display in the center stack, and a new vehicle systems interface that could make it easier for police squads to install computer and radio equipment.

Chrysler minivans under investigation for stalling after fuel refill

Wed, 10 Sep 2014

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, at least one man has reported that his 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan stalled unexpectedly on the highway shortly after being refueled. The unidentified man who contacted NHTSA regarding the issue cited as many as eight similar instances reported by other drivers.
NHTSA has announced that it will launch an inquiry into this issue, which could affect as many as 160,000 minivans from Dodge and Chrysler that were sold in 2007 (or more, if a problem is found that extends to additional models years, we'd assume). As of yet, there's no formal investigation, let alone a recall, on these vans, as the agency is merely determining if further action is needed.
Two months ago, Chrysler recalled nearly 700,000 vehicles, the majority of which were minivans, from the 2008-2010 model years to replace ignition switches after an investigation found that their weak springs and detent positions could fool a driver into thinking the car was in the "Run" position, when it's actually in the "Accessory" position.

Detroit's new fleet of donated police cars have safety issues [w/video]

Wed, 23 Oct 2013

In a show of generosity in mid-August, Detroit's business leaders donated $8 million to the Police Department and Fire Department in order to buy 100 new police vehicles and 23 EMS ambulances. But now officers have discovered - and complained - that the police vehicles have glaring safety issues, Deadline Detroit reports. It is not made clear what models of the fleet vehicles - which include police versions of the Ford Taurus, the Chevrolet Caprice and the Dodge Charger - are affected by the safety issues.
Officers reportedly have complained that the Plexiglass partition separating front-seat officers and back-seat prisoners is easily breached, and that the front passenger seat is installed too close to the dashboard. Prisoners who manage to writhe out of their handcuffs can bend the Plexiglass and reach into the cockpit, and sitting too close to the dashboard can render airbags more dangerous and make officers more vulnerable to injury in a crash.
Mark Diaz, president of the Detroit Police Officers Association, received the complaints and reportedly said the vehicles would get safety updates addressing the issues. But Deadline Detroit reports that it checked some of the offending police cars and, as of the last few days, they hadn't been updated.
