You are bidding on a 1980 Datsun 280ZX 10th anniversary edition. It is number 2587 out of a total of 3000 10th anniversary cars. This was brought out by Datsun to commemorate the Z car that started in 1970 with the 240Z. This one was purchased new by the current owner and carefully cared for over the last 34 years. It has only covered 15,461 easy miles and has remained covered in the garage ever since it was purchased. The owner is a neighbor and I am assisting them in selling the car. I have no financial interest in the car. The car is in absolutely excellent condition. There are no dents, no paint blemishes that I could find, all original black and gold paint, no interior rips, tears, stains or wear marks, and the T tops are in excellent condition. All original dealer equipment is still with the car including the owner's manual. There is a custom fit cover for indoor storage time along with a black padded bra for the nose when traveling to avoid paint chips. The original factory T Top storage pockets are also included. The car starts instantly and runs and drives like it should. New tires and a new battery were recently installed on the car. The original wheels are in nice shape with only a very small bit of clear coat here and there, not very noticeable at all. The car has an automatic transmission.. All service records from new are included with the car. This may be the nicest ultra low mile 10th anniversary ZX in the United States, a rare opportunity to acquire a time capsule Datsun ZX.

This father and son duo terrorize the UK countryside in Datsun 240Z pair
Wed, 12 Nov 2014The Datsun 240Z got a lot of things right when it was introduced, with handsome styling, strong performance and a reasonably affordable price. And while the coupes grew a strong fan base in the US, they remained quite a rarity in the UK. Decades later, a father and son in England have latched onto the car and bonded over their shared love for two completely opposite takes on this Japanese GT
There's already quite a collection of exotics in Mel Streek's garage, and his rat rod 240Z, which he calls the Ratsun, definitely doesn't fit with the rest. On the outside, the Datsun looks ready to fall apart, but it's mechanically perfect underneath. Alternatively, Mel's son, Ollie, has a completely different take for his Z with its perfect, shining paint.
Both Zs sound amazing, though. They have a mechanical, somewhat course exhaust note that's intoxicating to hear. You can definitely tell there's some work going on under the hood. Fiat contemplating sub-brand to compete with Dacia, Datsun
Tue, 05 Feb 2013You can add Fiat to the admittedly short list of automakers considering a low-cost brand to rival Dacia. The inexpensive Eastern European brand from Renault-Nissan has performed on the balance sheet like a premium model line, and the money the alliance is taking off the table is encouraging other players to deal themselves in. Pretty soon Nissan's Datsun sub-brand will join the Dacia party, going on sale in Russia, Indonesia and India and will claim even more rubles, rupiahs and rupees for the parent company. Volkswagen recently said it will make a decision this year on a budget line for the Chinese market. With the euthanasia of Lancia and plans to move the Fiat brand upmarket, company CEO Sergio Marchionne wonders aloud to Automotive News Europe whether there could be room for a new budget brand underneath Fiat.
We're told that the initiative has been in the idea box for five years and even moved to the stage of name considerations, like Innocenti, but worries about profit kept it from realization. If such a range were to be developed, Marchionne says it couldn't be built in Italy and stay within budget, and the company is "analyzing its manufacturing capacity outside of Europe to see if a low-cost brand is viable."
