Rainbow Acres, a Christian community for developmentally-disabled adults, is selling this 1999 Chrysler Town & Country LXi minivan. Originally purchased in November 1998, it was used by a member of our Board of Trustees for his personal use, then donated to us in 2006. We've since used it to transport our residents and staff. During the time we've owned it, it has been maintained by our on-site mechanic.
This vehicle is sold AS IS. There are a few problems with it. The driver's seat is torn. The transmission slips. It needs new tires. And a new water pump might be necessary. But it does run and has been used to travel around our local area. The winning bidder must pay a deposit of $500 by PayPal within 48 hours of the end of the auction. Full payment is due within 7 days of the end of the auction. If you win this auction, you must pick up the vehicle within 21 days of the end of the auction. If you do not make full payment within 7 days or pick up the vehicle within 21 days, you will forfeit the $500 deposit. The winning bidder is responsible for picking up and/or shipping the vehicle. Toyota tops Consumer Reports best, worst used car values
Tue, 18 Mar 2014We often mock Toyota for building boring, soulless cars, but a new study by Consumer Reports suggests that regardless of whether that's true, the company has some of the best used cars on the market. In its report on used cars from 2004-2013, the Japanese automaker had 11 vehicles among its brands on the list - more than any other automaker.
CR breaks the list down by cost and vehicle size, and Toyota has at least one entry at every price point and in nearly every segment. To score a recommendation, a vehicle had to perform well in the magazine's initial tests and score above-average reliability results. It also tried to only suggest cars with electronic stability control. Of the 28 recommended vehicles, Honda/Acura had the second most mentions at six, and Ford, Hyundai and Subaru managed two each.
The Detroit brands also made it to the list, but not in a positive way. Consumer Reports compiled a list of 22 vehicles it wouldn't recommend because "they have multiple years of much-worse-than-average overall reliability." General Motors had the most unrecommended models on the list at six, but Chrysler and Ford weren't far behind, with five cars each from their brands not making the grade. Fiat board makes Chrysler merger official, approves $5.4B bond sale
Mon, 16 Jun 2014Fiat's board of directors has officially approved the merger plan that will see the conglomerate's automotive operations merged with Chrysler into the new Fiat Chrysler Automobiles.
The plan essentially provides a road map for the structure of the new company. It includes provisions for Fiat shareholders - one Fiat share will translate to one share of FCA common stock. The new company will also include a loyalty voting structure, which will provide for shareholders of Fiat stock or those that have held FCA stock for at least three years. According to the plan, these shareholders would see their voting power double, with two votes for every share of FCA's common stock. The overall merger plan still needs to be approved by the company's shareholders.
In other Fiat-related news, the company's board has announced a bond issuance of four billion euro ($5.4 billion). The new bonds should provide the company with a degree of flexibility in refinancing debts associated with the merger plan.
