Beautiful 1988 Le Baron Convertible - Looks Like Almost New on 2040-cars

Year:1988 Mileage:86081
Location:

Crestline, California, United States

Crestline, California, United States

This is a second owner, looks like almost new, SoCal carA real head-turner!

Genuine 86,081 miles

This is an all-original car with an exceptional body and interior for its year.

I bought her for my wife, who loved driving around with the top down, but only drives around 3,000 miles per year - she has been replaced by a Thunderbird.(the car, not my wife).
This gorgeous car needs a home with somebody who is prepared to invest a little time or money to bring her back to a fully operational state.

With her front wheel drive and fuel injected turbo engine, she is a lot of fun to drive, a road-hugging, comfortable, stylish head-turner.  Put your foot down and hear and feel the turbo kick in! With top down, windows up, there is no draft at all at freeway speeds, and she returns a relatively economical 27mpg town/freeway

Her silver paint, all-gray leather interior and silver tonneau cover show little sign of wear. The beautiful body-hugging multi-way powered leather seats are more comfortable than any other car I have driven.  If they would fit, I would have put them in my Thunderbird!  Each front seat does show a little evidence of wear and tear with a tiny repairable flaw.

She has been garaged all of her life until 2010, parked off-street under a custom-built cover and used only occasionally since.the arrival of the Thunderbird.

Custom built car cover included

New vinyl convertible top
Transmission rebuilt 1,000 miles ago

Registered PNO with DMV

Runs, but needs some mechanical work:
Blown head gasket.
Brake seals need replacing.
Heater & a/c not working.

We are sad to see her go, and have been reluctant to part with her, but she deserves to be cared for, driven regularly and enjoyed by an enthusiastic owner who appreciates her timeless style.

Dodge offering novel 1-year lease on '14 Challenger and Charger models

Mon, 14 Apr 2014

Dodge is just days away from unveiling refreshed versions of the Charger and Challenger at the 2014 New York Auto Show, models promising updated styling and new powertrain options. Depending on how you look at it, the company is either so confident in its forthcoming 2015 models that it's offering an interesting Double-Up lease deal on the current vehicles, or it's so eager to clear out existing stock that it's resorting to novel lease deals. In any case, what they present is an interesting scenario, one which allows buyers to get the existing model right now, and then trade up to the facelifted 2015 models in one year.
Starting April 17, when the refreshed cars debut through the end of August, buyers can lease a 2014 Charger or Challenger for one year and exchange it for a three-year lease on a 2015 model next year, with no additional money down and the same monthly payment. Customers can even switch vehicles when the new lease starts. If drivers want to buy the '15, they get $1,000 off the purchase price. To be eligible, both leases must use the same dealership and be financed through Chrysler Capital. The Double-Up deal excludes the SRT versions of both cars and Charger SE models.
To offset the flood of one-year-old models coming back to dealerships, Dodge has struck a deal with rental car agency Enterprise, which has agreed to buy them all. "One-year leases are highly unusual in the industry," said company spokesperson Ralph Kisiel, and the fleet sale deal is what makes it possible.

Minivan market not what it used to be, but margins make up for it

Thu, 05 Jun 2014

Residual values for last year's minivans are higher than they were in 2000.
Much like the station wagon was the shuttle of Baby Boomer generation, the minivan has been the primary means of transport for Generations X and Y. Just as the boomers abandoned the Country Squire, though, those kids that were toted around in Grand Caravans and Windstars are adults, and they certainly don't want to be seen in the cars their parents drove.

Ford F-150 bumps Camry from top of Cars.com American Made Index

Tue, 25 Jun 2013

With July 4th just around the corner, what better time could there be for Cars.com to announce that the Ford F-150 is the Most American car of 2013? This may be especially true since it was the Toyota Camry, a car produced by a company based in Japan, that had held the top spot from 2009 to 2012.
Cars.com compiles its Most American list by considering the amount of parts each vehicle uses that come from America, where it's final assembly takes place and how many units per year are sold. "While the assembly point and domestic parts content of the F-150 didn't change from 2012-2013, vehicle sales are responsible for bumping the F-150 to the top spot," according to Patrick Olsen, Editor-in-Chief of Cars.com.
As far as automakers go (as opposed to individual models), Toyota retains the top spot it held in 2012, with General Motors, Chrysler, Ford and Honda (in that order) rounding out the list. The motivation behind this list each year, according to Olsen, is "to help car shoppers understand that 'American-Made' extends beyond just the Detroit three" and because "a study we conducted in 2012 indicated that 25 percent of shoppers surveyed preferred to buy American."
