Fully optioned with every conceivable luxury option, power convertible top, heated memory seats, Infinity 8 speaker stereo and CD, leather interior, Mercedes 3.2 liter SOHC V6, 5 speed programmable automatic transmission with sport and manual shift modes, touring suspension, staggered performance tires, 18" front and 19" rear, electronic stability control, traction control, 4 wheel anti lock disc brakes and much, much more. Very low mileage, perfect top, interior and exterior finish. These are sensational driving roadsters. Great performance and handling, solid, safe with impeccable build quality and comfort. Certainly underappreciated when new but now knowledgeable drivers are becoming aware of the value and quality these Crossfires offer. Move over Audi, now Chrysler has a beef with Tesla's claims
Thu, 23 May 2013In the same week that Audi said "not so fast" to some claims from Tesla, Chrysler has responded to a new press release from the California-based EV-maker by saying "not exactly, Tesla." The statement, released through the company's blog, comes in response to Tesla claiming it was "the only American car company to have fully repaid the government." Chrysler notes that it, too, recently paid back Uncle Sam from its 2008 bailout. Similar to Audi's recent press release, which was eventually and mysteriously deleted from the German automaker's site, Chrysler is both right and wrong in its statement.
Tesla specifically said that it had paid back the Department of Energy loans that many automakers received - including Fisker and VPG Autos - while Chrysler's retort argues Tesla is "unmistakably incorrect" since it repaid the government in 2011 a full six years early. Technically, the statements from both automakers are correct, but Tesla's startup loan originated from the DoE, while Chrysler's loan came in bailout form from the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP). Further, as The Detroit News notes, Chrysler's loan still cost taxpayers well over a billion dollars after all was said and done - those negative assets tied to "old Chrysler" in the bankruptcy did not require repayment.

Tue, 06 May 2014The news just keeps on rolling from Auburn Hills today, as Fiat Chrysler continues to detail its five-year growth plan. This time round, we're talking about Chrysler. The troubled American brand has been limited in the past few years to the lamentable Sebring/200, the Town & Country and the 300, although that's likely to change in the coming years.
"The Chrysler brand is not luxury - it's not premium. Chrysler is the mainstream American brand," brand CEO Al Gardner said during today's presentation.
Gardner set a sales target of 800,000 units by 2018, which marks an increase of 350,000 units compared to its 2013 sales results. That's a pretty big ask for a brand that's struggled to define itself over the past decade.
