UP FOR SALE IS MY 2003 CHEVY TAHOE Z-71 SUV. I HAVE THIS TRUCK READY TO GO FOR THE WINTER. TIRES HAVE BEEN ROTATED AND THE BRAKES ARE LIKE NEW AND THE A/C DELCO 6 YEAR BATTERY IS OK. I WORK PART TIME IN A SHOP SO GET A GOOD DISCOUNT FROM THE LOCAL GM DEALER SO I DONT MESS WITH AFTERMARKET PARTS. THE TWO PAST ISSUES WERE THE A/C COMPRESSOR WAS MAKING NOISE SO THAT AND THE PRINTED CIRCUIT FOR THE GAUGES WERE REPLACED. I JUST GOT BACK FROM A TRIP TO TENNESSEE AND IT RAN AND DROVE PERFECT. I HAD THE EXTERIOR BUFFED,POLISHED AND THEN HAND WAXED. THE INTERIOR CARPET WAS CLEANED AND THE LEATHER SEATS WERE TREATED WITH CONDITIONER AND THEY LOOK GREAT. IF YOU NOTICE I HAVE TAKEN PICTURES (WHICH MOST PEOPLE DONT)OF THE UNDERSIDES OF THE DOORS WHICH IS VERY CLEAN. A FEW ROCK CHIPS HAVE BEEN TOUCHED UP AS IT HAS BEEN USED AND THE ONLY OTHER THING TO NOTE IS THE RIGHT HAND REAR DOOR HAS A FEW DOOR DINGS ON THE LOWER PART BUT YOU REALLY HAVE TO LOOK HARD TO SEE THEM. PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF MY FEEDBACK. I STRIVE HARD TO DO THE RIGHT THING WITH ALL MY CUSTOMERS. C7 Corvette makes inaugural ad appearance in Chevy's first spot with new slogan
Mon, 11 Feb 2013Chevrolet's "Runs Deep" tagline has finally been run into the ground, replaced with the Bowtie brand's "Find New Roads" slogan that's part of parent General Motors' plan to unify its everyday brand's marketing efforts worldwide. The new Chevrolet campaign was ushered in on prime time last night during the Grammy Awards on CBS, and the first spot, a 90-second full-line ad, also marks the first appearance of the 2014 Corvette Stingray in a commercial.
Being a full-line ad, the commercial is composed of vignettes centered on different vehicles in the brand's lineup. The all-new 2014 Impala also makes its first commercial appearance in dapper fashion, and time is spent on a skateboarding Sonic and a bouquet of brightly colored Spark hatchbacks driven by fashionable women. The ad starts and ends with Chevy's green halo car, the Volt, along with a young girl with her robotic dog (yes, really).
Chevrolet's "Runs Deep" campaign got off to a rocky start in the fall of 2010, but it did last for a couple of years with some tweaks. This new one, "Find New Roads" seems more intent on drawing new customers into the fold than the outgoing tagline, which seemed to play more toward the brand faithful. It admittedly reminds us more than a little the short-lived "Find Your Own Road" Saab motto (which, we note, was conceived while the Swedish brand was under GM's control), but no matter, we still think it's got more long-term potential than "Runs Deep."
Chevy to show redesigned Captiva in Geneva, will it come to US rental lots?
Wed, 27 Feb 2013Unless you're renting a car or driving through Orlando, Florida (the rental car capital of the US), you'll probably never see a Chevrolet Captiva - the rebadged, fleet-only version of the old Saturn Vue - on our roads, but this crossover is popular in many other parts of the world. As such, Chevrolet announced that the Captiva will be getting an update for 2013, which will be unveiled next week at the Geneva Motor Show.
Coming off a pretty extensive refresh in 2011, the 2013 model year will bring even more changes to the Captiva like LED taillights, new 18-inch wheels and revised fascias with a new grille and fog lights up front and inset chrome exhaust outlets at the rear. New interior features include heated rear seats, dual-zone climate control as well as available options on some of the upper trim levels such as leather seating and keyless entry and start. We have yet to hear back from Chevrolet as to whether or not the updated Captiva will be making its way to a rental lot near you, as the model is only available in the US to fleet buyers.
Alongside the updated Captiva, Chevy is also showing off its new Trax in Europe, where the subcompact crossover will go on sale this spring. GM's press release for these two Geneva-bound models is posted below.
Why the Corvette is Chevrolet's billion-dollar baby
Thu, 28 Feb 2013Edmunds has worked up a piece that tries to figure out just how much the global Chevrolet Corvette economy is worth, a spitballed guesstimate putting the number at more than $2.5 billion with the proviso that the number is probably low. It starts by taking Corvette's new car sales of 14,132 units last year, which would equate to $714,725,900 (including destination) assuming ever car sold was a base coupe with no options. In the final tally, a little extra padding gets that number up to $750,000,000.
But that's not all. Consider this: Many of the almost 1.4 million Corvettes produced over the model's history are still on the road. There are new parts being produced and aftermarket companies like Mid-America Motorworks deaing business, that single Illinois company doing more than $40 million a year in sales. There are the Corvette events large and small, restorers who do nothing but Corvettes, salvage yards that deal only in used Corvette parts and the Corvette magazines where owners find all this stuff.
And then there are the Corvette-themed tchotchkes, every single one of which provides a tiny contribution to the huge licensing royalties that General Motors collects every year. The article admits there's no way to come to an accurate number, but it just goes to show how valuable one specific model can be to a company.
