I am selling my 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe LT. it has the 5.3 vortec engine with 217xxx miles, all highway miles and with these engines, that many miles is nothing, especially highway. I have researched online and these trucks will last for well over 300k if properly maintained. I am the 2nd owner, the previous owner took excellent care of it: full synthetic oil whenever the computer said it was time to change and it has had full synthetic for its whole life, and maintenance and/or part replacements as needed. I have also taken great care of the car with always Mobil 1 full synthetic and ran 91 octane gas. Like I said, the car runs like a dream. Even with the high mileage it is as tight as a drum. When I got it tuned by blackbear, the tuner said he was amazed that the engine was running that close to brand new. The truck has all leather, heated, power seats. All power windows and locks. Cruise control. AC works great, ice cold! The tires (Yokohama Geolandar) have a lot of life left on them as well, around 25k miles before they need to be replaced. I just replaced both the front and rear brake pads with ceramic pads, the truck stops on a dime! There is also a spare wheel that comes with the truck.

The truck has some performance parts on it: K&N intake kit, LPP Sainless Steel Headers with Off Road Y-Pipe, Stainless Steel Magnaflow Exhaust, Corvette Servo for quick shifts and longer transmission life, electric fans for better cooling and more mpg, performance tuned by BlackBear Performance for better drivability, Eibach Anti-sway Bars for better handling and more stable ride. I have also installed black halo headlights, altezza tail lights and a black grille. I have also blacked out the bumpers, side molding and rims with plasti-dip, so if you don't like the black look, it peels off like a sticker, and the chrome is still in great shape underneath. I also have a Pioneer head unit and Pioneer speakers with the stock amp and subwoofer. All the parts were installed by a professional mechanic. I also have some of the stock parts that come with the truck. This truck is a great cruiser and has LOTS of power when you need it! Ready to be lowered or lifted!

All the performance mods have given some added mpg. The truck gets around 15 city and 19-20 freeway, which is 2-3 mpg more than stock. Plus with the added low end torque, you can drive the truck at less than 2000rpm to save gas and still be faster than others when the light turns green. The only thing the truck needs is an alignment. The wheels and tires are straight as an arrow, but the steering wheel is off center, and my mechanic said an alignment will fix that.  I am selling the car in "As Is" condition.

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray convertible headed for Geneva debut

Mon, 28 Jan 2013

While most of the world is still coming down from all the hype surrounding the debut of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this month, we're already looking to the future. And according to Autoweek, the next chapter in the C7 story will unfold at the Geneva Motor Show in March. That's right, General Motors is reportedly using the Swiss stage as its venue to debut the Corvette Stingray convertible.
If this strikes you as odd, you aren't alone. After all, with a car that's such an American icon, we'd fully expect Chevrolet to unveil it here on our shores in either Chicago or New York. But according to Autoweek, GM is looking to boost export sales of its halo car, and since the C7 was engineered to compete with the world's best and brightest, showing it off in Geneva is somewhat of a smart move. What's more, those with sharp memories will recall that GM used the Geneva expo to debut the sixth-generation C6 Corvette convertible back in March 2004, so there's also a precedent.
Details surrounding the Corvette Stingray convertible are still slim, though we fully expect the 6.2-liter V8 and choice of either six-speed automatic or seven-speed manual transmissions to carry over unchanged. Prototypes spotted on the road showed the car fitted with a cloth convertible roof, as well.

2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Convertible offers a few more views before reveal

Mon, 04 Mar 2013

Over the weekend, Chevrolet released its first images of the new 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible. Now, ahead of the droptop's official introduction tomorrow at the Geneva Motor Show, the automaker has given us a few more shots of the softop C7 showing off the car's rump albeit from a high, strategically positioned angle.
From this angle, it's hard to get a sense for how long and flat the decklid really is, but we can easily see that, like the rest of the C7's design, the new convertible's decklid and tonneau cover are far more detailed than the current car. We also get a better look at the rear haunches sans brake vents, which have apparently been moved to underneath the car in order to accommodate the top's hard cover.
As for the overall styling of the C7 convertible, with the top erected, we get some idea of what a coupe design (as opposed to the Stingray's fastback shape) would look like on this car. The C5 Corvette most recently had a coupe model that did away with the large glass hatchback, and we recently reported on a low-cost "coupe" model potentially being added to the C7's repertoire.

GM won't sell 2014 Chevrolet SS in Canada

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

Allow us to be the first to extend our condolences to our friends to the north. General Motors has announced the 2014 Chevrolet SS will not be available in Canada. The Globe and Mail reports the automaker has confirmed the high-performance sedan won't hit Canadian dealers, though GM hasn't offered up any reasoning as to why that is.
Buyers here in the US of A, meanwhile, can look forward to getting their hands on the 415-horspower, rear-wheel drive SS by late summer. Something tells us it won't be long after that before Canadian officials start seeing individually imported 6.2-liter V8 four-doors in their neighborhoods. Fortunately, Canadian buyers will still be able to take home the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette. The C7 bowed at the Canadian International Auto Show last week, reportedly drawing sizable crowds and interest.
