The good: Engine, transmission, body & tires. Seats eight. 12,500 lb towing capacity. 4'x8' cargo bed, great in the snow. 2WD, 4WD, AUTO & 4WD Low settings at the push of a button. Strong roof rack, Heated leather seats. 42 gallon gas tank (over 600 mile range). Safe vehicle. All original options.

The bad: AC will not hold a charge. 15 to 18mpg

The ugly: Door dings, driver's seat upholstery, stained carpet, surface rust on rear drivers side door (see pics).   This truck is not in showroom condition so look elsewhere if you want one in showroom condition.

Second owner (we purchased this in 2001). We had the transmission rebuilt and new tires at 160K miles.   Starts & runs every time with no leaks or smoke. This has been used to tow: horse trailers, utility trailers, boats, campers, antique cars, and anything else we have thought of. Excellent hockey family car and finger lakes cottage utility vehicle. After a bright-yellow false start, here is the real thing: the fourth-generation, 2015 Corvette Z06. If Chevrolet makes a ZR1 version of the C7 Corvette, it's going to be absolutely mega, because the Z06 is just about everything we got in the last ZR1, but better.

NHTSA could add 1M cars to GM recall

The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration may expand a recall campaign for faulty brake lamps. The agency is currently looking into complaints that certain 2004-2011 Chevrolet Malibu models as well as some 2007-2009 Saturn Aura sedans may have brake lights that do not illuminate when the driver presses the pedal. Alternatively, the lamps may also illuminate without input from the driver. General Motors recalled 8,000 Pontiac G6 models from the 2005 model year for the same problem, and NHTSA is currently investigating whether to add 550,000 more G6 models built between 2005 and 2009 to the list for the same issue.
In addition, investigators are currently examining 97 complaints from Malibu and Aura owners with the same trouble. If NHTSA adds those models to the recall campaign, more than one million units could be covered. GM, meanwhile, says there have been no accidents or injuries as a result of the problem.
